Ok, so I managed to finish one picspam I wanted to get done before the end of the year! There were several others I really wanted to do, but there's no way I have time for them all. I'm doing best TV shows of the decade now (I have 7 left to finish out of 30, which is kind of a lot, but I can definitely finish it by tonight/tomorrow morning), and that'll probably be it. I was thinking originally of still doing a few others and just posting them when I'm done in January, but oh man I'm so burnt out from picspamming now. I have literally been doing it all day, and I'm just so tired. I love making picspams, but I think I'm remembering why I only make them once every like 3-6 months.

I did Secret Santa with my friends Sunday night and I had put a couple different DVDs on my list (expecting only 1; I just wanted to give a variety of choices), and I ended up getting Chuck Season 1, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and Supernatural Season 3! I wasn't expecting that much, so that was super awesome. And now I may actually do my Chuck and Supernatural rewatches I was planning. Well, the Chuck rewatch definitely. I don't know if I want to go through all of Supernatural; I might save that for the summer. Right now I'm deciding if I want to rewatch Chuck so I finish right before season 3 premieres (JANUARY 10TH! THAT'S SO CLOSE NOW!) or if I want to wait until my birthday (January 14th) to see if I get season 2 from my parents. I was going to wait until the 14th, but then I did the Chuck part of my picspam that I'm working on, and now I desperately want to watch it. I think I'll try to wait anyways, though.

I went with a few friends to see Sherlock Holmes last night. It was... decent, I guess? I don't know. Calling it average seems too negative, but calling it good seems too positive. I guess I was expecting or hoping to enjoy it more than I did. It wasn't bad, but I have no urge to see it again anytime soon. Robert Downey Jr. was excellent, and Sherlock Holmes and Watson were awesome characters. I liked Irene's character, but I didn't like Rachel McAdams playing her for some reason. Oh well.

I finished reading Watchmen over the weekend. I definitely liked it more than I did when I was starting it in January. I feel like I need to read it again, though, before I can fully appreciate it. And I know I missed loads of little details. Not sure when I'll see the movie, but hopefully soon.

Some of the choices for the Fandom Steel Cage Match are making me cry a little inside. Booth is beating Dexter right now? Really? I mean, granted, I haven't been following Bones, but I did watch the first 5 or so episodes, and based on the first five episodes of Bones versus the first five episodes of Dexter, Dexter wins in a landslide. But beyond that, Dexter is one of my favorite characters EVER. There are few characters I would vote over him. Also, House beating Chuck? I can find that one slightly more understandable, at least. I was also happy for awhile because Ned was beating Dean, but Dean's now back in the lead. It's not that I don't like Dean, but... I don't know. I don't love him nearly as much as everyone else seems to, and I definitely like Ned more.

Actually, I think I have a problem with all the current results except for Barney beating Liz and Ten beating Mal. Besides what I already mentioned, I would really, really love Lorelai to beat Spike, but I don't see that happening seeing as pretty much everyone in Buffy fandom adores Spike. blah. Ok, I probably shouldn't care so much about this. But it still feels kind of frustrating.

Anyway, this week is thankfully not too busy compared to the last few weeks. I got my German test from Friday back that I didn't think I did very well on, and I got an A/A-. She must have curved it because there's no way I did better on this test than the first one. I'm still stressing out over the Multivariate Stats test from last week that she hasn't returned yet. I really just can't wait until Friday. Only 4 days left!

My bad mood from Tuesday or Wednesday or whatever continued for a few days and I was going to make a post about things I was feeling bitchy about, but today was actually really great and it kind of bodes well for the rest of the semester, so now I'm going to make a post about things I'm feeling bitchy about and things that are making me happy:

Things I'm Feeling Bitchy About )

Things Making Me Happy )

I randomly feel like watching old Supernatural episodes. Mostly season 2, which is the only season I have on DVD and I haven't even watched it yet (I got it for Christmas). I also feel like watching season 1, though. And season 3, kind of. Ok, so I guess I just want to marathon it all! We'll see, though. I'm going to spend this afternoon cleaning my room (it is so ridiculously messy. It was a mess when I left and it's just gotten worse since I've been back) and then I don't know what.

So somehow I actually managed to figure out when and where to meet with the other two people in my math group and we all showed up in the right place at about the right time and it all worked out. I'm kind of shocked. And somewhat proud of myself, since I hate planning things and I really suck at it. And we've kind of divided up the 5 questions we have to answer and two of them are solved and I was the one who solved both of those questions which also makes me feel awesome. So that's going way better than I thought it ever would. We're meeting again on Sunday and we actually have a time and place already, so hopefully this will work out and this project grade won't bring down my grade in the class too much.

Tonight there's this "retreat" for Wind Ensemble. It's kind of weird. It's like... we work on music for a few hours, and then from 9:15-10:00 our director is going to play polka music on his accordion and I guess we're supposed to dance the polka and get to know each other better and stuff, and then we're going to watch Fantasia (I think the 2000 version) from 10:00 to midnight. I kind of don't want to go, but I don't really have a choice. Oh well. Maybe it won't be too bad. But also, well. One of the people in my math group was talking to me after the other person had left and she was like "Oh, can I have your phone number? Are you going to be working on homework on Saturday? Around when?" and all of a sudden I had plans for her to come work on math homework with me in my room on Saturday afternoon. And my room's a mess since I had my mattress on my floor for awhile and I just put it back up last night (as much as I don't want a lofted bed, there's just no room in my room for my bed to be on the ground) but everything else is just kind of everywhere because there was no room for anything with my mattress on the floor, and anyways, basically I have to clean my room if anyone else wants to go inside it. And I have class until 4:30 and I'm supposed to meet with my math group for a little bit after class and I'll probably have dinner at 5:30ish, so I'll basically only have 2 hours to to clean my room up. And it's not even definite plans, so Murphy's Law says that if I don't clean up, she'll show up, and if I do clean up, she won't. Oh well. I do need to clean things up.

I've been watching the Secret Diary of a Call Girl (I caught up on the first season sometime over the summer), and oh god I'm loving this season. Callum Blue! I love him! The first season was pretty good (I mostly just watched for Billie Piper, and I started shipping Hannah and her best friend (I forget his name now. I fail) towards the end of this season), but oh man I really love Callum Blue and his character and it's making me so much more exciting about this show. The premiere of Supernatural was also pretty excellent.

Please request photos for my photo meme! Three people have requested photos now (two there and one on Facebook), but I'd still like more! I am going to post reminders about this and badger more people into requesting photos probably every day for the next week, just to warn you. I'd really like to take loads of photos.

So, last night, the power went out on all of the campus. There's this construction site where they're building a new athletics building and apparently something fell onto it and caused a fire and knocked out something that caused the power to go out. There were emergency lights in the halls, but then they suddenly went off about an hour and a half into the power outage, so we had to be evacuated (I... don't really understand why) and go to the Campus Center (which had a back-up generator or something so there was light) and then about 5 minutes after staying in the Campus Center, the power came back on. Really bizarre experience. It sucked, too, because I have a laptop, so I could use my computer even with the power out, but the internet wasn't working, so... there wasn't really much I could do with my laptop. And I didn't know how long it would last, so I didn't want to waste the batteries.

Supernatural and Gossip Girl confirmed coming back next season is a very good thing. Supernatural doesn't surprise me (its ratings aren't amazing, but they're way better than most of the shows on The CW, I think), but Gossip Girl's ratings were pretty crappy. But yeah, very happy that they're both coming back.

My paper is done with! Spring Break starts a week from Friday! Life is good. (Until Wednesday, when I have to start studying for my Drugs and Society test.)

All of these are kind of random and not really specific episodic moments (some, but not entirely) but more general season comments focusing on those episodes. If that makes any sense.

Lost 4.02-4.03 )

Ok, so now I'm maybe going to rewatch Doctor Who S3. I'm not sure if I want to watch it through once without commentary and then a second time with, or just start the first time with commentary. I don't know. Maybe I won't start rewatching just yet, and instead make icons and a new layout. I also kind of feel like rewatching Firefly. So who knows what I'm going to do. (Such decisions! My life is so hard, I know.)

So I wrote this up like a month ago and was just waiting for the Doctor Who finale to post, but then it came and I totally forgot about it. But anyways, since I did a short review of all the shows I watched last year, I figured I'd do the same for this year. There are spoilers, so if you haven't seen all of a TV show that aired this year then you might not want to read it (the shows under the cut are Battlestar Galactica, The Black Donnellys, Doctor Who, Gilmore Girls, Heroes, House, Lost, My Name is Earl, The O.C., The Office, Prison Break, Studio 60, Supernatural, Torchwood, Ugly Betty, and Veronica Mars). 2006-2007 Television Season )

I totally caught my mom watching a rerun of Ugly Betty last night. I'm so awesome at getting her to watch the TV shows I like.

Thursday night TV is the death of me. I don't even know what to freak out about first.

The Office 3.24: The Job )

Ugly Betty 1.23: East Side Story )

Supernatural 2.22: All Hell Breaks Loose Pt. 2 )

I ordered four books online at Dover Publications because they're ridiculously cheap there and they sent me a book of John Wayne cut-out dolls in the place of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Somehow I feel this is not a fair trade.

Supernatural was also kickass, but I don't really have anything to say about it other than that.

Anyways, yesterday I came home after Jazz Band before going to Andrew's house to hang out with some people, and when I got there I asked my mom if I could go and she was just like "What? Of course. You don't really have to ask. You're 18 now." And I was just like "...wha?" Because, yeah, I'm 18, but I thought my mom would be the type of mom who's like "As long as you're living under my roof, you're not an adult." So after a couple minutes of staring at her and wondering when exactly she had been abducted by aliens, I left and went to Andrews. Around 10 I called her to see what time she wanted me home, because usually she wants me home by midnight and she had been all... you can do whatever you want earlier, but I wasn't sure if that was just temporary insanity or she was actually serious. So I called and she was like "Eh, don't stay out too late" and I was like "...wtf?" and she was like "I'm going to bed at midnight. I guess try not to stay out much past 12:15ish?" Which is just... not at all her. And before it's not like she was ever... you're only 17, you have to be back by 12, it was more that she would worry about me and wouldn't be able to fall asleep if she knew I was out. But I guess now that I'm 18 she's no longer worried? It almost worked like reverse psychology, because I ended up getting home by 11:20 (well, that and I was giving Soan a ride and she wanted to go home. And I was tired). I mean, I'm very happy about this, trust me, but it's just kind of confusing me.

Caught up on Thursday night TV today (since we had a football game Thursday night so I couldn't watch):

My Name is Earl )

The Office )

Ugly Betty )

Supernatural )

Thursday night TV makes me happy. :D

This week was another crazy week, so I haven't been around. I probably won't be able to catch up on all my friendslist unfortunately, but I'll try.

Other than TV, nothing really important has been going on, just been very busy. Had our first marching competition last Saturday. We got 5th out of 5 for both colorguard and drumline, and 4th for band (half a point away from 3rd, though!). Not very surprising, because we've never been like... well-known for being a great marching band, and that show was definitely not our best. To place as well as we did for band is actually really encouraging. We performed really well at the football game so hopefully we can do that again tomorrow, since we have another comp tomorrow afternoon.

Ok, time for Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica in 15 minutes!

Today was my first time going to Symphony, so after school I drove Jackie, Emma, Ariel, Galaxy, and Mukul to Albertsons/Del Taco and we had dinner and then went back to school. Pretty uneventful day, but it was good.

Stolen from everyone ever:

Go here and choose the following:

1. One that makes you automatically think of me.
2. One that you think I should TOTALLY use more often.
3. One that you don't get/needs more explanation/you have no idea why the hell I have it.

Supernatural freaked me the fuck out, so my brain isn't really thinking well and I don't have much to say on these, but I wanted to say something.

Gilmore Girls )

My Name is Earl )

Supernatural )

Kitchen Confidential is no longer on my viewing schedule. It was inevitable, though. The first episode just didn't capture my interest. And plus, you know you have to drop a show when you see it in your list of saved shows on your DVR player and think "Crap, I don't want to watch this." So I deleted it instead. From the two episodes I saw, it just didn't seem to have much of a... point to it. Like, they have the premise all set up, but I don't see where they're going with it. And that would all be ok to deal with, except I didn't even find it particularly funny. I really wanted to like it, too. Oh well.

guh. I have to write an essay tomorrow in Euro. I mean, at least for this we got 5 possible free response prompts, unlike for the English essay last week, but still. I didn't prepare very well for them and I'm pretty much screwed. Well, there are like 2 that I'm ok at, but bah. I don't know. It's 100 points, too. But then, it seems like everything in Euro is many, many points. We have an 80 question multiple choice test in Euro on Friday, too, and I'd be surprised if that wasn't up around 80-100 points. It's annoying, because it makes things seem more important than they actually are.

Other reasons to hate Euro. )

sigh. Anyways. Nothing much in school today, except we had the first sub of the year and it was in chemistry, of all classes (I want a sub in Euro. Or French. Permanently), and her face looked like it had been Botox-ed a lot and she looked kind of dead. And she spent the entire class period ordering things from magazines on the phone. It was pretty bizarre.

So, at about 5:30, I decided I didn't want to start studying yet, so I started reading Rats Saw God. The plan was to start studying around 6:00. I was still reading the book through Gilmore Girls and House. blah. Bad choice to decide to pick up the book. Oh well, I do have office hours tomorrow. I can study then.

The book was very good. I loved spotting things Rob Thomas has reused in Veronica Mars (Wanda Varner as a character name, I Never with "I've never not..."). Yeah, I don't know what to say. I really enjoyed it.

Gilmore Girls )

Bones and My Name is Earl will probably come tomorrow, unless I'm strapped for time. Then I'll probably save Bones for Friday or Saturday night.

Already saw the pilot of Bones, as I said before, so I didn't bother to record the pilot. I'll start watching it next week.

Lastly, commercial for Serenity during House! I think I read someone saw one during Supernatural, but I was fastforwarding through those, so I can't confirm that. But ee! September 30! ...I should probably attempt to finish watching the series by then. That would help.
