I love staters of the obvious, they're awesome. When an adult does it, I think it's ten times worse somehow than those obnoxious kids who turn to their brother/sister/mother/father/friend and say "Watch this, this is the best part" right before a shocking moment. When you're an adult, you're supposed to have some semblance of discretion. I'm turning 26 on the 17th, so trust me you're not old lol. Although I don't feel old right now at all, so I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Good luck with everything this semester :)
