Ah. Yesterday was pretty awesome. Well, most of it.
SATs from 7:40 to 1:15ish. I managed somehow to get put in the same room as Emma and Kiyoshi which was nice because then I had someone to talk to during the breaks. The SATs themselves weren't too bad. I can't really judge how I did, but I don't think I did much worse than my practice tests this summer.
Then rushed to the football game. Mrs. Bentley showed up around halftime to watch us perform our show. eep. After halftime, I rushed to the car and then off to the Home Depot Center for the concert.
Got there a little past 5, which was good because I thought we wouldn't get there till 6, and the people actually started going in aruond 5. Got in pretty quickly and then Tiffany and I walked around a little and got food and stuff. Around 6:30ish, we finally went down into the pit.
At around 6:45, Against Me! came on. I had no idea who else was playing other than Green Day and Jimmy Eat World (and I wasn't even sure about Jimmy Eat world until that morning), so it was a really pleasant surprise to find that Against Me! was opening. I'm not like... a huge fan of theirs, but I have heard a few songs and really liked them. They played a good set. The pit was pretty blah, though, at that point, which was kind of surprising. I mean, normally the pit doesn't really start going during the opening bands, but Against Me! is a pretty big band, so I don't know. I'd think that people would've gone a little more crazy.
Anyways. After they finished, Jimmy Eat World came on. They've never been one of my favorite bands, but I've always enjoyed their music, so it was really great to see them. I enjoyed their set way more than I thought I would.
About 45 min wait, and then Green Day came on!
geez. I don't know what to say about them. It was so fucking surreal. I've liked their music since I was like 9, and I've wanted to see them so badly for several years, and now finally I have. Their set went on for 2 hours, and usually when bands play that long, it like... really drags on, even when I'm enjoying it. But the set just flew by.
They played Shout! This amused me, because it's one of our marching band pep tunes. There was also a tenor sax player! And a trumpet player and a trombone player. But tenor sax!
They played loads of stuff. I don't feel like listing it all.
I don't know. ;lksjfd I can't really describe how awesome it was for me. And there were fireworks! And big, big booms! (Actually, those sucked, because they really hurt my ears) And fire! There was fire! And I was like... second row from the front barrier, and when the fire shot up, it was really, really hot.
Yeah. It was awesome. I want to see them a million more times.
No pictures, because the Home Depot Center doesn't allow cameras or anything, and I didn't want to risk trying to sneak my digital camera in.
I was going to go to the animal shelter this morning, but the gate was closed and locked and stuff and there was only one other car in the parking lot, so I left. ...it's going to be really hard to get my hours in this month.
