Televison-y stuff!

I downloaded this today because I saw a lot of people watched it and liked it. I'm glad I did, because I really liked it too. The premise is interesting, the actors are good, and it was pretty amusing. Unfortunately, it's up against House and Supernatural, neither of which I'm eager to drop, so I'll be resigned to downloading it. Oh well.

Wow, I really enjoyed this episode. I mean, I liked the premiere more than nearly all of the season 2 eps, and then the second ep was a little better, but this was even better than that.

First of all, Marissa actually put her family before Ryan, her friends, and Newport. ...did she get a lobotomy, or something? I thought once Julie said they were moving to Hawaii, she'd pitch a fit, but when she actually accepted it? I was shocked. I loved it, though. One thing about this season I like better than the first is that I don't want Marissa to die.

I really liked the Ryan/Marissa stuff, too, which is surprising, because usually they either bug me or I'm just kind of meh about them. But I was glad they finally had sex, because dancing around it for so long was just getting old. Marissa faking out Ryan about the sex was absolutely hilarious. Funniest moment with Marissa ever.

I do agree with what Sandy was saying at the beginning about staying away from Marissa, though. Last time he tried to protect Marissa? Everyone thought he was crazy and he nearly got expelled from school, and it lead to Marissa breaking up with him. And now he tries to protect her, and this time he actually does get expelled. He doesn't think as clearly when he's with her.

Charlotte must die. She's just so fucking annoying. She's not even an evil person that I can love in all her evil ways (like Julie in the past). She's just annoying.

I loved Kirsten coming home. It made me so happy. Ryan running to her was the sweetest thing ever, save for Seth just kind of holding back, wanting to know if she was staying for good. Aw. The end was perfect. I love Cohens + 1 scenes.

I'm glad Jimmy's gone. I loved him up through season 2, even in season 1 when he was stealing money from people, but this season it was just... too much. Once I can excuse, but all these money problems twice? bah. Kind of wish he'd died. Oh well.

Seth is definitely improving over last season. He gave Ryan a cup of coffee! He gave him a bagel! He helped him with the having sex with Marissa thing! He took the fall for Summer and got 2 months of detention (though it's not like he really had a choice. I mean, if he hadn't, he'd have been the worst boyfriend ever. Worst friend ever. But still, it was nice anyways. Didn't even waver in taking the credit)!

Man, this show is cheesy, but I enjoy it anyways. Most of what I like about it is that I just... really love the premise. I mean, I always like the idea on shows of seeing what happens in the future (like the series finale of Dawson's Creek), so going a year by a year and seeing how things change between characters is just really intriguing. It's annoying how they're dragging out the whole "omg, who died?!" thing, but it's ok. I'll stick with the show. Plus, for me, this sort of show like... if I start watching it, I'm not going to want to stop. I want to see how things turn out.

I watched last night's episode of Head Cases, but I don't really have anything to say about it. I liked it, though, so I'll continue downloading it once Veronica Mars starts airing again (less than a week! Also less than a week until my first essay of the year. bah).

I also saw the premiere of Everybody Hates Chris, but nothing much to say. I liked it fairly well (more than How I Met Your Mother), so I'll keep watching it.

Also, can I just say that I'm really loving that more comedies are going with the no-laugh track, not just on like the same sets sort of style? Like Arrested Development. After watching AD, I grew to hate the laugh track and all the traditional sitcom styles (which is one reason How I Met Your Mother kind of puts me off). So, I'm really happy to see that both My Name is Earl and Everbody Hates Chris are both in the more Arrested Development style rather than... Friends, for example.

I really liked the OC tonight, it's finally reminding me again why I fell in love with it. I mean it's gone in a completely different direction than the original premise, but so far it's been kind of awesome and really worked for me :) I think what's different about this season is that there are actual villains and villains make shows interesting, especially when they've been on the air awhile and the characters have all seen their share of lame plots :P

I liked the Ryan/Marissa stuff too, they're incredibly cute together and the actors seem to have a really good chemistry between each other, and it shows on the screen. I mean I know most people aren't crazy about the ship, but I kind of enjoy them together :) Eh, whatever, the OC's becoming appointment tv for me again...and that says something *g*

I watched Reunion, only because the writers had to set it in my friggin hometown lol...so I'll be watching it till Fox cancels it, but the show is so painfully *BAD* on all levels, that it amuses me, so I kind of enjoy watching it in a warped way. I'm glad you enjoyed "My Name is Earl" I've now seen it three times and it didn't lose its effect at all on the third viewing, plus I roped in a few more people to watch the show with me as an added bonus :) VM in 5 days *g*

Yeah, I agree, all last season I kept asking myself "Why did I get so obsessed over this show last year?" but now I'm remembering why. When they try, it can be really aewsome.

In season 1, I thought Ben McKenzie and Mischa Barton's chemistry was pretty poor, but it's definitely gotten a lot better since them. Most of the time they kind of bug me, but lately they've been ok.

Heh, I know, it's not that I enjoy it because I think it's well-written and well-acted and all that stuff, it's just so cheesily bad that I can't help but love it. Plus, I am intrigued with the storyline.

Yay for VM! :D

I'm the same way, if I start to watch a show, I'll never stop. And I have to see it from the very first show for me to watch.

Reunion seems like every angsty-teenie booper story squished into one, but it is interesting. And boys aren't bad to look at. ;)

Oh yeah, I'm totally the same way about having to see it from the first episode. The last show I started watching from the middle and then continued watching from there was Charmed, and I was like 11, so yeah, it was awhile ago. Luckily it's a lot easier to catch up on shows from the beginning these days what with downloads and DVDs.

Heh, Reunion is like that, but it keeps me entertained, which is all I'm asking for now.

Ah, yeah, I heard about that this morning briefly on the radio station I listen too. Oh well. I liked it well enough, but I'm not that upset about it. But geez, after only 2 episodes? And I thought cancelling Wonderfalls after 4 was bad.

Hi! I wanted to let you know that I was friending you, since I'm sort of adding as many fun VM people as I can find before the premiere, and I was looking at your userinfo and we seem to have a lot in common anyway, so. :)

Hi! Awesome, I love having more people who love VM on my friends list. :D I'll go ahead and add you back.
