So I meant to do this back around when the show actually ended, but I ended up getting too busy and forgetting about it. So, here it is, about a month late. I had a lot of issues narrowing down my favorite moments, so as a result, there are a lot of moments and it's very image-heavy. They're in chronological order because it was too difficult to put them in order of which moments I liked more and which I liked less.
Kiss and Tell (1.07)

Rory: Oh my god, he kissed me!
Mrs. Kim: Who kissed you?
Lane: The Lord, Mama.
Rory gets her first kiss. I love everything about this. Her "Thank you" to Dean and then running to Lane and saying "I got kissed! And I shoplifted!" and her and Lane going through every detail. It's just adorable. I started hated Dean in season 4 and I didn't like him much in seasons 2 or 3 either, but I really liked him and his relationship with Rory in the first season. I think he was a good first boyfriend for her.
Rory's Dance (1.09)

Lorelai: I am not going to lose her. Do you hear me? Even if I hadn't gotten pregnant, you still would have lost me. I had nothing in that house. I had no life. I had no air. You strangled me. I do not strangle Rory.
Rory stays out all night. I love the end of this episode; it's just packed with so much emotion.
Forgiveness and Stuff (1.10)

Lorelai: My father’s in the hospital.
Luke: What?
Lorelai: Yeah, he collapsed or something. I don’t know. I need a cab. I need to call a cab. Where’s the phone? I need - can anyone give me - I’m holding a phone.
Luke: Whoa, calm down.
Lorelai: No I can't calm down. I need a cab. What's the numbers? God, it's something-cabs, cabs-something-something, 1-800-cabs? Can somebody tell me the damn number of the cab guy?!
Luke: I'll drive you.
Lorelai: But there's food and there's people and there's a burger with a face.
Luke: Ok, everybody out! We’re closed, let’s go. Food’s on me. [to Lorelai] Put on your coat and get your stuff. [to Taylor] Taylor, have your hot chocolate then lock up. [to Lorelai] Come on, my truck’s out back.
Lorelai: Luke, I'm--
Luke: I know. Let's go.
All the Luke/Lorelai interaction from this episode is brilliant, from his making her a Santa Burger to when she finds out about her father to the conversation in the car to when they get there and he's freaked out by hospitals but he stays as long as she needs him to the end where they watch the rehearsal from his diner. It's all just so sweet and wonderful and why I can't see Lorelai with any man but him.
Forgiveness and Stuff (1.10)

Lorelai finally goes to see her father. It's amazing how much emotion and meaning they can pack into a scene where no one says a word.
Christopher Returns (1.15)

Richard stands up to Christopher's father about Lorelai and then, when Lorelai thanks him, yells at her as well. It was awesome to see Richard standing up for Lorelai, and then heartwrenching to see his argument with Lorelai. I love this entire episode so much.
Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers (1.16)

Dean takes Rory out for the best three-month anniversary ever known to man and then tells her he loves her and she doesn't say anything so they break-up. As I said, I really loved Dean and Rory together in the first season, so this just broke my heart.
Emily in Wonderland (1.19)

Emily: You hated us that much?
Lorelai: What?
Emily: You had to take that little girl away. That was bad enough. But to that? To live there, in a shed, like a hobo?
Lorelai: Who uses the word hobo anymore?
Emily: I saw it. I saw that horrible little pit you so proudly ran to. I saw what you chose over your own family. You would've lived in the gutter, in the street, it a cardboard box, anywhere as long as you didn't have to be near us, isn't that true?
Love, Daisies, and Troubadours (1.21)

Rory: Dean!
Dean: What?
Rory: Stop!
Dean: Why?
Rory: Because I love you, you idiot!
Hammers and Veils (2.02)

Lorelai: Do you know how it felt for me to tell you that I was getting married and to have you just brush it off like that? Do you know?
Emily: No, I don't, I don't know! Possibly very similar to finding out from a complete stranger that my only daughter was getting married and had told every other person in the world before she bothered to tell her own mother. Possibly it felt something like that. Now if you'll excuse me, it is late, and I am going to bed.
Nick & Nora/Sid & Nancy (2.05)

Luke pushes Jess into a lake. This will never stop being funny to me.
A-Tisket, A-Tasket (2.13)

Mrs. Kim:You see, this is exactly why I make these rules. You’re too young, too vulnerable. American boys have different values, they don’t understand respect, you get hurt. I do all of this so you don’t get hurt and now here you are hurt. I don’t like this, I don’t like this at all. Who is he, this boy who hurt you?
Lane: Henry Cho.
Mrs. Kim: Cho?
Lane: Yes.
Mrs. Kim: Cho sounds Korean.
Lane gets dumped by her first boyfriend. Lane was one of my favorite characters in the earlier seasons so my heart broke for her when she got dumped, but Mrs. Kim's interjections about Henry being Korean and wanting to be a doctor were hilarious at the same time.
Lost and Found (2.15)

Luke: That’s your room. Finish up. We’ll hold hands and skip afterwards.
They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? (3.07)

Lorelai comforts Rory after she and Dean broke up. I was happy they broke up (long overdue), but this moment was still just so sad.
A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving (3.09)

Lane and Dave's first kiss. Oh, I loved Lane and Dave so much. This was so adorable.
The Big One (3.16)

Paris: You know, it’s funny, me standing here before you right now. I’ve thought about nothing else for four years but this school, this big important school with all of its history and tradition and really super teachers. And I dedicated myself to it completely, heart and soul, believing in its power, believing in its ability to get me where I needed to go. Harvard. I thought of nothing else. Many of you out there can attest to that fact. I was on my way and nothing could stop me. And here’s the really funny thing – after four years of slaving away, I go home today and I found this. [holds up an envelope] I’m not going to Harvard. I got the tiny envelope, the one that reads, "Sorry, Paris. We’re not interested. Try again next year. Love, Harvard." And the thing that’s really funny here is, who in the world deserves to go to Harvard more than me? Have you seen how hard I’ve worked over these past four years? I mean, can anyone here believe that I’m not going to Harvard? I can’t. I’m not going to Harvard. I am not going to Harvard. I had sex, but I’m not going to Harvard.
Oh, poor Paris. I totally get the whole... expecting to get into a place and then it not happening and feeling like what was the point of all those years you worked so hard for this goal and then it didn't matter anyways and feeling like everything is over. And the thing is, it's not, but it just feels so awful when it happens. I feel so much for Paris here, moreso than the first time I watched this episode. Poor Paris.
Say Goodnight, Gracie (3.20)

Dave: I stayed up all night. I read the entire Bible cover to cover. I don't know what it means.
Mrs. Kim: David.
Dave: You have to tell me what it means. Is it yes, is it no? I can't feel my right elbow anymore. I don't even know why, but I can't.
Mrs. Kim: David.
Dave: Please, just tell me. I'm so tired.
Mrs. Kim: It's not from the Bible.
Dave: What?
Mrs. Kim: It's Shakespeare, Henry VI. I like to goof off now and then, too, you know.
Dave: Shakespeare.
Mrs. Kim: That is a very difficult this to do, reading the bible in one night. I myself have only done it three times. You need great determination and excellent light. I'm very impressed. All right.
Dave: All right what?
Mrs. Kim: You can go to the prom, but you cannot get married.
Dave: That seems fair to me.
Cutest thing a teenage boy has done to go to prom with a girl in the history of the world? (Answer: yes.) Also, I love that Mrs. Kim equates reading Shakespeare with goofing off.
Those are Strings, Pinocchio (3.22)

Rory graduates from high school.
The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais (4.14)

Lorelai: Um... I just thought I had everything under control, but I didn't, and the inn is just falling apart. This has been my dream forever, and I have it, and it's here, and I'm failing. I can't handle it. I just spend every minute running around and working and thinking. And I thought I would have help, but Sookie has Davey, and Michel has Celine, and I'm -- I can't do it all by myself. And I don't even have time to see my kid, and hell, forget see her, just even talk to her. And I miss her. And I sat there in my parents' house just listening to my grandmother basically call me a charity case, and I couldn't even argue with her. I couldn't even say anything, because I am. I'm running out of money, and I don't know what to do about it, and I was gonna, I was gonna ask you for $30,000 at dinner tonight. That's how pathetic I am.
This scene kills me so much. Poor Lorelai. But Luke is such an amazing friend to her, and I just love it.
Last Week Fights, This Week Tights (4.21)

Lorelai and Luke go to Liz's wedding together and Luke asks her out afterwards. Oh god I love this so much. I love their dance together and I love Luke asking her out and her kind of being dumbfounded but saying yes and it's all just awesome.
Raincoats and Recipes (4.22)

Luke:You know the last time I bought flowers for someone? Never! That's when! Very easy stat to remember!
Lorelai: I loved the flowers!
Luke: And then when I walked you home after the wedding, there was a moment. I thought there was a moment.
Lorelai: There was! There was a moment. [Luke leans in.] What are you doing?
Luke: Would you just stand still?
Lorelai and Luke finally admits their feelings to each other and kiss (twice!) and it is awesome. God, I waited for four seasons for this to happen and I was so afraid stupid Jason would ruin everything but then they actually talked about it and oh god! Luke talked about his "intentions" and his asking her out and bringing her flowers! Even earlier in the episode they're awesome, when he actually gives her the flowers, and when she goes over to his table at dinner and Babette and Miss Patty are talking but Luke and Lorelai just kind of look at each other and ah the look Luke gives her totally kills me. (Can you tell I kind of love this episode?) The entire conversation when he confronts her about the Jason thing at the end before they kiss is just excellent. I love them so much.
Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller (5.01)

Lorelai: We kissed. ...You and me, we kissed?
Luke: I remember.
Lorelai: And it was... unexpected.
Luke: Lorelai, relax. I'm fine if you want to just forget it ever happened, really.
Lorelai: No, I don't want to forget it ever happened. It was a great kiss.
Luke: Yeah?
Lorelai: If one of us had been a frog, it would have had some seriously impressive consequences.
Luke: Yeah?
Lorelai: So, what do you think?
Luke: I think I'm really relieved you feel that way.
Lorelai: So you concur?
Luke: Dear god, yes.
I was so afraid Luke would be trying too hard not to let his feelings out that Lorelai would back off and then we'd be back to how things were, but then they ended up actually being honest about their feelings and it was awesome.
Come Home (5.12)

Richard: I don't want to go back to the pool house.
Emily: Come home.
Wedding Bell Blues (5.13)

Lorelai: [to Emily] You and me, we're done.
Say Something (5.14)

Lorelai and Luke break up.
So... Good Talk (5.16)

Lorelai and Luke get back together. I love how nothing's even said between them, they just know how much they need each other and miss each other and they just kiss.
A House Is Not a Home (5.22)

Luke: Okay, I’m sorry. I have to jump in here. Uh, I know you think you have this thing handled, but I can help. First off, we call Yale and we tell them something like, uh, Rory had a chemical imbalance and she was mentally out of her mind when she told them she was dropping out. And then we get her out of your parents house whatever way we can. We lock her up in her room with you, because you can talk anybody into anything. And if worse comes to worst, we will drive her to school every day and we will follow her to class and camp out there to make sure she goes. I’ll take morning classes, you take afternoon classes, or the other way around, if it works out better for your schedule. And I know there’s a few kinks to work out, the kidnapping thing might be a little problematic but either way, she is not quitting school. This was her dream. I am not going to let this happen. [pause] What?
Lorelai: Will you marry me?
I love how supportive Luke is of Lorelai and how he's always there for her and Rory.
Let Me Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Out (6.08)

Jess: What are you doing? Living at your grandparents' place? Being in the DAR? No Yale - why did you drop out of Yale?
Rory: It's complicated!
Jess: It's not! It's not complicated!
Rory: You don't know!
Jess: This isn't you! This! You going out with this jerk, with the Porsche! We made fun of guys like this!
Rory: You caught him on a bad night.
Jess: This isn't about him! Okay? Screw him! What's going on with you? This isn't you, Rory. You know it isn't. What's going on?
Rory: I don't know.
Jess finally knocks some sense into Rory. I never really liked Rory and Jess together (which is an unpopular opinion, I know, but he was always such a terrible boyfriend to her. My favorite thing about Jess was always his relationship with Luke), but I absolutely loved Jess here. It was about time someone set her straight.
Let Me Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Out (6.08)

Lorelai: I tried so hard. I have a list of things that he's afraid of on the fridge. And I try to do the right thing. I should not have socialized him at Kirk's doggy day care the other day. I should have taken him to the best doggy day care in the country, even if it was in Seattle. That's where I should have taken him.
Luke: He's fine hanging with Kirk.
Lorelai: I did this wrong. I did this all wrong! How could I have let this happen? How did I not see it coming? How didn't I step in and do something? And why can't I fix these things?
Driving Miss Gilmore (6.21)

Emily plans to buy Lorelai and Luke a house as a wedding present and Lorelai tells her she and Luke won't get married. This scene was just so heartbreaking. The house is probably the nicest thing Emily has ever done for Lorelai, definitely in respect to relationship with Luke, and Lorelai has to tell her that she doesn't think she and Luke will end up getting married. Poor Lorelai.
Partings (6.22)

Luke: We can't just take off and get married.
Lorelai: Why not, Luke? Don't you love me?
Luke: You know I do.
Lorelai: Because I love you, Luke. I love you. But I have waited, and I have stayed away, and I have let you run this thing, and no more. I asked you to marry me, and you said yes.
Lorelai asks Luke to elope with her and he turns her down. This is just heartbreaking scene, and we get to hear Lorelai finally tell Luke she loves him but it sucks that it has to be under such awful circumstances.
To Whom It May Concern (7.12)

Lorelai: To whom it may concern, In the nearly 10 years that I have known Luke Danes, I have come to know him as an honest and decent man. He's also one of the most kind and caring persons I have ever met. I'm a single mother, and I raised my daughter by myself, but once Luke Danes became my friend in this town, I never really felt alone. Luke and I have had our ups and downs over the years, but through it all, his relationship with my daughter, Rory, has never changed. He's always been there for her no matter what. He was there to celebrate her birthdays. He was there cheering her on at her high school graduation. Luke has been a sort of father figure in my daughter's life. With his own daughter, Luke wasn't given the opportunity to be there for her first 12 years, but he should be given that opportunity now. Once Luke Danes is in your life, he is in your life forever. I know from personal experience what an amazing gift that is, and not to allow him access to his daughter would be to seriously deprive her of all this man has to offer, and he offers so much. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Lorelai Gilmore.
Lorelai writes Luke a character witness letter so he can get custody of April. I love this partially because Lorelai's feelings for her are so apparent and it helps break up her and Chris, but also a lot just because I always love when they talk about Luke and Rory's relationship. I love that Luke is always there for Rory, no matter what his relationship with Lorelai is.
I'd Rather Be in Philadelphia (7.13)

Logan flies (in a helicopter!) to be there for Rory when her grandfather has a heart attack. Ok, so I didn't like Logan in season 5 and he was just ok in season 6, but I really started loving him in season 7, and this episode cemented my love for him. I mean, helicopter! He offers to help in whatever way he can and he goes with Rory to her grandparents' house to get stuff for Richard and tells her he wouldn't rather be anywhere else. He is amazing in this episode.
Farewell, My Pet (7.14)

Lorelai and Christopher finally end things for good. Lauren Graham was brilliant in this scene.
Will You Be My Lorelai Gilmore? (7.16)

Lane: Hard-core. Listen... here's the thing. Um...my kids are gonna need that, too -- you know, when they're hiding bibles and they can't stand me. So what I wanted to know is... would you be their Lorelai Gilmore? I guess that's the proper term.
Rory: Really?
Lane: I can't think of anyone who would be better. Plus, you already have the name.
Aw, Lane and Rory. They kind of forgot about their friendship in the middle of the series, but I loved this moment so much.
Lorelai? Lorelai? (7.20)

Lorelai sings "I Will Always Love You" to Luke.
Bon Voyage (7.22)

Lorelai: Thank you.
Luke: Oh, it's... no big deal.
Lorelai: Luke.
Luke: I just... like to see you happy.
Luke organizes Rory's graduation reenactment/goodbye party thing by himself and he and Lorelai get back together. Oh god. This is just the perfect ending. Getting to say goodbye to all the characters and Luke organized it all and Lorelai realizes she can't keep kidding herself and Luke kind of realizes it at the same time and they kiss and then the last scene with the diner just like the pilot. sigh. So awesome. Such a perfect, fitting end to a wonderful show.

Hammers and Veils (2.02)

Nick & Nora/Sid & Nancy (2.05)

Those are Strings, Pinocchio (3.22)

Rory graduates from high school.
The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais (4.14)

Lorelai: Um... I just thought I had everything under control, but I didn't, and the inn is just falling apart. This has been my dream forever, and I have it, and it's here, and I'm failing.

Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller (5.01)
