Hearing about how Zachary Levi brought around 600 fans from a con he was doing in England to Subway and made them sandwiches (Subway is one of the major sponsors of Chuck and there's a huge "Buy a Subway sandwich" campaign going on today for the finale tonight, if you hadn't heard) totally made my day. That is just awesome. I've been hearing random rumors and reports that things look good and that Chuck looks good to get at least a 13-episode pick-up for next season, but they're still just rumors and the decision hasn't officially been made, so I'm still really nervous about it and will be until next Monday. At least for today I can still be excited about the finale! (It better not end in a cliffhanger.)
Can I just say how much I enjoy that in every single interview I've watched in the past few weeks involving Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, or one of the writers of The Big Bang Theory, the interviewer has asked a question about Sheldon/Penny? And like none of them have even mentioned it in comparison to Leonard/Penny or brought them up at all; it's all about S/P. It's pretty awesome. Less awesome is how all their responses are basically shock and "Wow, that'd be weird," but still! (Although, seriously, I've watched at least 5 interviews where it's been asked, and EVERY SINGLE TIME they're like "OMG I'M SHOCKED" but it's like... SERIOUSLY? YOU'VE BEEN ASKED THIS LIKE 5 TIMES NOW.) The more they're asked about it, the more they'll think about it and see it's a possibility down the road, though, right?
I actually really kind of hope Leonard and Penny get together for a long-term relationship (i.e. not what happened at the end of last season/beginning of this season) at the end of this season. Not because I want them together, but because if they go for them now and they're in a relationship for like half a season or a whole season, then I'll feel more comfortable that they won't end the show with the two of them together. It's like How I Met Your Mother in how I see it. They had to put Ted and Robin together for a season just to address the relationship and all the reasons it wouldn't work. Then they were able to move on to the much more awesome pairing of Robin and Barney (I'm not spoiled, but they're totally endgame for the show, in my opinion). I feel like they need to get Leonard and Penny together for awhile for the same reason: so they can deal with the attraction they supposedly have for each other (because whatever, I totally don't see it, but apparently it's there) and then they can realize that they have nothing in common and that Leonard was only ever really into Penny because she was attractive.
Seriously, I mean, The Dead Hooker Juxtaposition kind of illustrated perfectly why I prefer Sheldon/Penny so much over Leonard/Penny. The second there's some new hot woman around, Lenoard fawns over her and ignores Penny. Meanwhile, Sheldon doesn't care at all. I mean, it's not like you would expect Sheldon to care, but it just shows so well how amazing it is that Sheldon is friends with Penny. He's friends with her because of who she is, not because he wants to sleep with her. And I love how they challenge each other and make each other... adjust and evolve, you know?
It's not like I want them to get together now. It wouldn't work for where they are right now. That's another reason I want Leonard/Penny to happen now. Then next season the show can work on illustrating why Leonard/Penny doesn't work, and Sheldon can continue to evolve and slowly develop feelings for Penny. Or that can happen after they break up. Plus, the idea of Sheldon and Penny in a relationship is infinitely more entertaining than Leonard and Penny in a relationship. Ugh, Leonard/Penny just seems so boring to me. =/ As long as we still get Sheldon/Penny scenes, though, I'll be happy.
Anyways, I got up this morning early and went to the library and miraculously got my paper for Research in Psych done! It was kind of amazing. This also has been one of the few times an assignment has actually taken much less time than I expected this semester. I still need to talk to the professor about it and edit it some, but that won't take too long. I was hoping to get it done by 8 so I could watch Chuck, TBBT, HIMYM, and Greek without having to do the paper at the same time, so this is pretty awesome.
