omg school is getting ridiculous. Here is what I have in just the next week:
Directed Research: Annotated Bibliography (paragraph for each of 10-15 sources explaining how I'll be using the source in my project), Research Proposal (2 page explanation of what I'm planning on doing, the justification for the project, etc.) due Monday, Introduction of Research Project (~5-8 pages; luckily for this, I can just use the Intro I used in my Research Proposal last semester. I do have to edit it and add a source and some other stuff, though, so it'll still take me a little bit. But if I had to do the entire Intro from scratch, I would be killing myself now) due Friday.

Intermediate German: Exam #1, revised 1 page essay, workbook homework for chapter 1 due Wednesday, first draft of 1 page essay #2 due Friday.

Discrete Math: Revised Homework #1 due sometime next week, Homework #2, assignment for Tuesday and Thursday (which we don't have to turn in, but he calls people randomly to put the answers up on the board, so if you don't have it done, you get embarrassed in front of the whole class, and the assignments take FOREVER. One took me 8 hours, and I still didn't end up finishing it.), group project draft #1 due Thursday (and I haven't talked to my partner about it, and I don't have his e-mail/number/etc. so we won't be able to meet until after Tuesday's class, so we basically have 2 days to do it. And we don't have the answer worked out yet).

Cognitive Psych: Read an article for Wednesday (have I mentioned that I'm loving this class right now? I will love it less once we start actually having, like, assignments and tests and stuff, but so far everything I've had to do for this class has been reading, and lab this past week was canceled even which gave me more time for schoolwork).

I think I have enough time to get everything done, but it's going to be hectic and not fun.

I had my first volunteer thing today. Basically what I'm doing is going over to Family Place, which is a day-shelter for families (the criteria for staying there are that you are either a parent or a legal guardian of a child). The leader of the group plans an art project for the kids, and then the other volunteers help the kids with the project and afterwards eat lunch with the families. It was pretty good, although there were more volunteers than kids, so there were several periods of time where I was just kind of sitting there watching everyone. But I think it'll be good. Unfortunately I need to fill out an application now, and I need to figure out 2 personal references. It only says no family members, nothing about friends, so I could just have two friends act as personal references, but I'm afraid that won't look very... professional, I guess? I don't know. I'm not even sure how closely he's going to look at the application, since I already volunteered there today, and it's more a... formality? Since we're all helping with this other girl's art projects. Whatever. I'm going to try not to stress about it too much, since I always get stressed out over pointless stuff, and this really isn't that big of a deal in the long run.

It's fiiiinally cooling off here, which I'm happy about. For one thing, I'm running out of short-sleeved shirts (I need to do laundry, but I don't want to), so it's nice to be able to wear my long-sleeved stuff. And besides that, it was just too warm. It's fine if you're just sitting outside, but I kept getting really sweaty walking all the way from my apartment to class. It also finally rained yesterday, which turned out not to be so good since I forgot that I still haven't bought an umbrella (last year mine broke). I need to get on that. I still enjoy rain, though, in any case.

I have random thoughts about Glee! Mostly about the show so far, but some specific 1.04 stuff.
I love Glee so much it's ridiculous. There are actually few characters I dislike. I dislike Sue as a person, but I enjoy watching her; she's an "I love to hate her" character. Quinn was annoying in the first episode, but I actually felt really horrible for her in the last episode, and I loved in the episode before that that she kind of... rebelled from Sue in the end. I don't like Terri, but I don't think we're really supposed to, so that's fine. I don't like Puck, but I enjoy his scenes too. And everyone else I basically love.

I think my absolute favorite is Kurt right now. It was a combination of him coming out last week to Mercedes and then coming out this week to his dad and being on the football team and his Single Ladies dance and just everything. I was so thrilled with how they handled everything with him in the last episode. I loved that they actually made the stereotypically gay kid win the football game and be GOOD at football (well, at least at kicking). People were complaining after the first or second episode that too many characters were stereotypes, and I remember thinking "SERIOUSLY IT'S BEEN 2 EPISODES, LET'S SEE WHERE THIS GOES, OK?" And already they're breaking from the norm! And I adored that he got the whole team to do the single ladies dance. And when he was coming out to his father, I kept going "NO NO DON'T DO THIS MY HEART CAN'T TAKE IT IF HE REJECTS YOU WHICH HE TOTALLY WILL" and then his dad was like "Uh, duh, I've known since you were 3" and he told him he loved him and accepted him and all that, and my heart totally broke (in a good way). And people last week were saying that it wasn't really... as moving when he came out to Mercedes since it was so obvious that he was gay anyways, which I totally didn't understand. I mean, I'm straight, but I know I'd be ridiculously nervous coming out to my friends and family even though I know my parents and I'm pretty sure all of my friends would still accept me. I mean, my parents voted against Prop 8, it's not like they would make a difference to them, but I know it would take me awhile to come out to them. And... that isn't exactly the same situation, but I guess I can just see how acting in a way that might make people think you're gay is not the same thing as telling people and removing all doubt, you know? I also adore his crush on Finn, and I kind of ship them, except I also ship Finn with Rachel, so I don't really care either way.

I also adore Finn. Yeah, he's an idiot at times, but... in a believable high school way. I mean, I saw some reactions that were like "Seriously, they're making him way too dumb with believing you could get pregnant in a hot tub like that" but... based on my memories of high school and listening to Loveline for many years, that's entirely believable. There are people who think if the girl's on top then she can't get pregnant because of gravity, or if you have sex in a hot tub that you CAN'T get pregnant (and I mean full-on sex, not what he and Quinn were doing) or if you drink enough... Mountain Dew, I think, it'll make you sterile. I don't know. There are LOADS of misconceptions, and sex education is really poor in general throughout the U.S. (this is what abstinence-only education does for us). So I totally bought that. And he's just so sweet! His hug with Will absolutely killed me.

I really like Rachel, even though she can be a brat. I like that she's a brat in a high school way, you know? She can be really earnest and sweet, too. And her voice is ridiculous. I love her.

I'm looking forward to the other supporting cast members to be developed more, which I'm sure they will be in future episodes. Especially since there's a full-season order, so they have the full 22 episodes to develop them! My Wednesdays are kind of awful because I just have way too many classes and not enough time to do homework and such, but Glee definitely makes me have something to look forward to getting through the day.

Also, watching Glee really makes me want to go back and rewatch Popular. I adored that show when it was on, and I think a lot of it went over my head because I was like in 6th grade when it was airing. And I think I missed a lot of season 2, so now I need to go back and watch it. Maybe I'll do that over winter break (I'm doubting I'm going to have enough free time to get through it anytime during this semester).

I'm having urges to catch up on Fringe. This is soooo not a good idea, especially with this week coming up. And the week after that. And pretty much the entire semester. Can anyone who watches tell me if it's worth it? I quit watching around the... 4th or 5th episode last season, I think, because I found it pretty boring and had zero emotional connection to the lead character/actress. But I heard it got better as the season went on, and that it's better when marathoned? So, should I start watching the show again? I probably don't need to add yet another show to my lineup. I'm watching enough as it is. Which reminds me,
MONDAY
8:00 - 8:30 - How I Met Your Mother
8:00 - 9:00 - House
9:00 - 10:00 - Gossip Girl
9:00 - 10:00 - Greek
9:30 - 10:00 - The Big Bang Theory

TUESDAY
8:00 - 9:00 - 90210
Being Erica (Except I don't live in Canada, so I don't know when this is on. But I am watching it.)

WEDNESDAY
9:00 - 9:30 - Modern Family
9:30 - 10:00 - Cougartown (I'm not that hooked on this yet, but I'll give it a few more weeks)
9:00 - 10:00 - Glee (I have trouble writing Glee without an exclamation point after it. Whenever I say the name of the show in my head, it's always like "GLEE!")
I was watching The Beautiful Life as well, but that was canceled, so no more.

THURSDAY
8:00 - 9:00 - Flashforward (I liked the pilot quite a bit! I'm pretty optimistic about this show)
8:00 - 9:00 - Bones
8:00 - 9:00 - The Vampire Diaries
9:00 - 9:30 - The Office
9:00 - 10:00 - Supernatural
9:30 - 10:00 - 30 Rock/Community (I guess they're sharing the timeslot? Or something?)

FRIDAY
9:00 - 10:00 - Dollhouse
9:00 - 10:00 - Ugly Betty (Not sure how much longer I'm going to be watching this; it's gotten pretty bad)
10:00 - 11:00 - Psych

SATURDAY
Legend of the Seeker (except that's not premiering for awhile, and it doesn't air the same time everywhere. I have no idea when it's airing)
Merlin

SUNDAY
9:00 - 10:00 - Dexter
10:00 - 11:00 - Mad Men
10:00 - 11:00 - Brothers & Sisters

Oh, and I also watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report every night. ...I really don't know how it is that I watch this much TV and still manage the grades I get. And how is it that I have more shows on Friday and Sunday than on Tuesday? Why is there NOTHING worth watching on Tuesdays?

Ok, maybe I should get a start on the ridiculous amount of homework I have.
