Oct. 6th, 2005 04:26 pmI burned my thumb today in Chemistry. It was not pleasant. Like, we were heating potassium (...or maybe sodium) bicarbonate in this test tube and I was holding it with tongs over the bunsen burner. And then we were done observing the chemical change and so I took it off the bunsen burner, and somehow, I'm not sure if I accidentally brushed against it or if I forgot that it was, you know, really, really, hot, but somehow I touched my thumb to the bottom of the test tube. Ouch. It wasn't actually that painful (though not particularly pleasant), and I immediately put it under cold water for a minute. Then I asked my teacher what to do, and she said I should leave my thumb under the water for a very long time. So I did, and it's ok. It's only a first degree burn, didn't blister or anything. It's just kind of like... tough there, like it's calloused.
The rest of the day was far less eventful. I got this quiz thing we took in French on Tuesday back and I got a 45/45, and then we saw our grades and I have a 95.1, which is actually better than I thought it would be. So, yeah. French is looking better to me now.
Still haven't seen Veronica Mars. I am sad. :( It's downloading now, though. 14%! But still an hour and a half left. bleh. I suppose it would be wise to get some homework done or start studying for my 80-question multiple choice test in Euro tomorrow.
