Oh god my afternoon has been so ridiculous.

Ok, so my plan for today was to vote (we had presidential primaries and a few propositions on Super Tuesday, but for some reason today we have primaries for state senate and some state Superior Court positions and a few propositions and other random stuff), get gas (I had less than 1/4 of a tank left), go to Newport Beach, get applications for the two movie theaters in Fashion Island, and buy a Calc review book because I've forgotten everything I learned in AP Calc (even incredibly basic things like how to take derivatives or integrals) and I'm taking Multivariable Calc next semester and am a little scared about it. I thought it would only take maybe an hour and a half.

So I go to vote, and that's fine. However, when I'm leaving, the kindergarten gets out (I was voting at my old elementary school). I had planned it so I wouldn't be leaving when grades 1-6 get out, but I forgot about the kindergarten. Anyways, I end up sitting in my car in line to get out of the parking lot for 10 minutes while people pick up their kids. So frustrating. I had so little gas left and I was really freaked out that I would run out, it was taking so long. I don't know why the people didn't just park up the street because it would've taken way less time that way than trying to go through the parking lot.

Anyways, after that, I go to the nearest gas station to get gas. ...except it's closed for some inexplicable reason. And at this point I have very little gas left, so I'm freaking out a little, but I go to the next closest station (which is also a good 10 cents more expensive, which sucks. It cost $60 to fill up my tank. ugh.). But anyways, that gets taken care of, even though it was more difficult than I thought it would be.

Then I go to Fashion Island. I get an application from the first theater easily. But then I go to the second, and the people can't find an application anywhere, so they ask me to come back in an hour. ugh. But whatever, I say that's fine, and I go to buy a Calc review book in Barnes and Noble. That takes up about half an hour (it took me forever to actually find Barnes and Noble, since they moved it from where it used to be, and I hadn't been there in awhile). I also buy Twilight since I didn't actually own it already (I only own the third one, not the first two, and I had been thinking about getting it for awhile) and I read that for the remaining 30 minutes. I go back to the theater and the woman tells me that the assistant manager that was looking for the application before has left and probably forgot about it, but she'll ask the other assistant manager if he knows where they are. He comes and prints out the application from the computer in about 2 minutes. ugh. Also, it turns out it's the exact same application as the other theater, and I could've just copied it myself at home. sigh.

So anyways, overall, took 2 1/2 hours, and I probably wasted at least an hour. Incredibly ridiculous.

The application for the movie theater is kind of crazy. I mean, it's like... more thorough and intense than either the tutoring applications for the temp job application I looked at. ugh. I'm not incredibly hopeful about getting either job, but I really want it. The woman I was talking to about getting the application at the second theater was telling me that employees can get into any Regal theater for free AND bring in a friend for free. That's so ridiculously awesome. I really want to work at one of the theaters. =/
