Oct. 24th, 2008 11:22 amToday is kind of awesome. Both my Developmental Psych and RIP I class were canceled, so I only have two classes today (and I've already gone to one of them, so one down). That is one of the awesome things about college; if a professor is sick or has to go to a conference or something, they just cancel class. This is good, too, because my child observation project write-up is due at my professor's office by 3:20 (even though class is canceled), and I haven't finished it yet. I mean, it's just answering questions, it's not a formal paper, thankfully. But I do still have to finish the questions.
This is also especially good because it gave me time to finally talk to my adviser about declaring a major. Apparently I freaked out over having to possibly graduate early for nothing because apparently I don't have to graduate early if I don't want to. So that's good. I mean, it's kind of appealing, but I need the extra four classes if I want to both major in psych and minor in math and continue to take German and finish the two general ed requirements I have left. And I also talked to him about changing advisers and he said that it doesn't really matter to him, and even though it might be a good idea to because someone in the department would know more about what's going on than he would, plenty of people stick with him even when they're not geology majors. So I think I'll ask this one professor I had last year if she'll be my adviser and if she says no for some reason, then I'll just stick with him. I have to talk to her anyways because I need to get my major plan approved. Oh and apparently the major plan I was also freaking out about is flexible so if I change my mind about what courses I want to take, I can revise it as a senior. So, no big deal. Now I just actually need to get it done. I think the plan for this afternoon, after Mutlivariable Calc, is to go through the course catalogue and fill out the sheet and then meet with the psych professor on Monday or Tuesday. And then hopefully I'll be done with that! Registration for me is on November 13th, so I have a little time left.
Also, this extra time is good because I still haven't unpacked my stuff from Fall Break. I've pretty much been living out of my suitcase this week. And my room is a mess besides that, so I think I'll also try to pick everything up and get things orderly. Even though everytime I clean my room, it's back to how it was before by the next Friday anyways. Oh well.
