Nov. 9th, 2009 01:44 pmSo I talked to my research adviser, and she said that it's okay if I go over 100 participants, and based on what I told her about the demographics of the participants, I really should get as many more as I can. So I made an event on Facebook and invited a bunch of people who I hadn't already sent the survey to, many of whom I haven't talked to since I was in high school (so, like 2 1/2 years ago) and I feel slightly awkward about inviting most of them, but then again, I'll probably never see them again, so who cares. And there are other people I invited that I'm pretty confident will participate, so whatever, I should get some more. I really, really do hate this part of research, though. It's fine when I have a test or a paper or whatever because that's entirely under my control, but for this, I have to force other people to take the survey, and I'm not very assertive and I'm shy and awkward so I really hate having to beg people to take it. And I'll probably beg for some more participants here in a day or so if I'm still low, but I'm done with trying to get participants for the day.
I have been buying way too much coffee lately. I mean, my parents give me money for each month to buy food, but I'm pretty sure that's all taken up by grocery shopping, and anything extra I buy comes out of my own pocket. And it gets expensive to get it every day. ugh I need to have more self-control. But I walk past a coffee place every single day on the way to and from class! It's hard to resist!
Kris Allen's new album has been streaming online and omg I adore it so much. I knew I loved his voice, but I was afraid I'd be disappointed by the album. But I'm totally not at all, and there are only a few songs I'm not totally in love with, and even those I still really like. Listening to his stuff is making me so happy right now. :D
I have nothing TV-related to talk about. I'm pretty focused on real life at the moment. This afternoon I'm going to a German event where we're going to graffiti stuff on a wall in memory of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, which should be pretty cool. Although it does cut into my time to do homework, since I've been working on this Discrete Math homework pretty constantly since Saturday afternoon and I'm still not halfway done. Stupid Discrete Math. I'll be so happy when I'm done with that class.
