It is awful. I couldn't believe he said it either, it was so random and made no sense at all.
Yeah, he actually comes back in the last episode of season 3. Ted becomes addicted to crystal meth in the later half of season 3 and he finally checks himself into rehab in the season finale where he sees Blake. It turns out that Blake went back to rehab again after leaving in the season 1 finale and he became a drug abuse counselor. He's in a few season 4 episodes and they're together for about one or two. I kind of liked him at the end of season 1 before he went back on drugs, but I love him even more in season 4 when he's completely clean. He's really sweet and good to Ted, so I was really happy when he came back in the series finale.
