!! VERONICA MARS! :DDD
...eh. I think it was better than usual, but I'm still not feeling it. Booth is probably the best character, and I like Angela well enough, but the rest... eh. And I still really dislike Bones. It's kind of a hassle to watch, too, because I watch Supernatural from 10-11 on Tuesday night, so I'm stuck with catching up on it on Wednesdays, and I don't know. It's kind of more trouble than it's worth. One or two more episodes, and if I don't suddenly start finding reasons to watch it, I'm dropping it.
Hee! Nothing specific to say, but I liked it even more than the pilot. I loved the "What would Jesus do?" That on its own was hilarious, but then they had him looking down his shirt and asking Jesus! Hee! Awesome. And dude, it's Michael Scolfield's old crazy-ass cell-buddy! Crazy.
I saw this after I watched Veronica Mars, and yeah. Bad idea. Because while I like Lost, it's nowhere near the quality of VM. After I saw, VM, I just wanted to run to the computer and start working out my thoughts. The idea of watching Lost kind of bored me. Maybe next week I'll watch VM after Lost. Only problem with that, is I'm way too anxious to wait an entire extra hour to see the next new episode.
This episode was all right. I don't like that like a lot of it was stuff we already knew. I wanted to find out what happens after Jack comes in and sees Desmond and all.
At least they acknowledged the existence of the guys on the raft. I thought Jin was dead! Well, not really, because they didn't make a big deal of it, but he was all of a sudden not there, and Sawyer's all "JIN! JIN! ...well, ok, that was enough of that."
Michael really bugged me this episode. I've liked him in the past, but not here. And on the other hand, usually I don't like Sawyer much, but I really liked him this episode. I hope they continue to write him like this.
Um, I don't know what else. Wasn't that great of an episode, in my opinion. Last week I was really excited for Lost, and I really liked the episode, and I was wondering why I had lost my love for Lost at the end of the season, and now I remember why: it really isn't that great in comparison to Veronica Mars. sigh. Oh well. Not many shows are.
eeeeeeeeeeee it's back!
God, I don't know where to start.
Ok, so eee to it being Logan. I was spoiled slightly for both this episode and next week's (nothing further, and I don't plan to be spoiled for anything further), so I knew about the scene where Logan comes to see Veronica at work when she's talking to Duncan and kisses her and such. However, didn't know about her getting with Duncan at the end of this ep (but I did know they are together in the next, which was the thing I was spoiled for in next week's, and I was really confused about how they went from Logan to Duncan in one ep, but this makes more sense).
For Veronica/Logan, I love the moments we got to see. Especially the car scene. Too cute. And a;lksd geez, everything. The thing is, I get both sides of the breakup. I get why Veronica dumped him. I'm glad she did, honestly. I don't see it working with him being the jackass he was last year and trying to be the sweet boyfriend he was to Lilly and kind of to Veronica. And I'm glad that Veronica wouldn't put up with that. She wouldn't be the Veronica I know and love if she hadn't broken up with him.
I get Logan's side too, though. I mean, I don't think he should be causing mayhem or whatever (lighting the community pool on fire? ugh. Bad Logan. >:O), but he definitely has a point with the whole "My girlfriend and mother died, my father's a murdere in jail, and now the girl I love is dumping me." The throwing of the lamp? Bad on his part, but totally in character. I don't think Logan would ever lay a hand on Veronica, would harm her intentionally in any way, but he definitely is a violent character, and he comes from an abusive parent. And lots of chaos. So it works for me.
Ending my Veronica/Logan thoughts (well, for the most part), I'm glad they had the summer. They had a chance to have some nice moments (car scene! I loved that, I really did) before realizing that right now, it just isn't going to work (well, ok, Veronica realizing it). Things are too hectic and confused and it just would be bad.
On to Veronica/Duncan, another thing I am glad about. I'm obviously not a huge supporter of Veronica/Duncan, but I don't despise them together, which is a good thing. I think they are sweet, and what Veronica needs right now is definitely a nice, stable boyfriend. A change from all the chaos she went through the previous two years. Moreover, and I think I've mentioned it at least once or twice before, I wanted them to get together early in the season so they could see that... they're not right for each other anymore. I mean, we didn't see any of it in this episode, but I'm hoping it'll come out later that... Veronica's changed way too much. Duncan has as well, but not exactly in the same way. And yeah, for now it's all right, with Duncan just being the nice, sweet, supportive boyfriend Veronica needs, but I don't think it can last. And lastly, I also feel that if they're setting up Veronica and Duncan at the start, it's to have... the issue addressed, I guess. Because if they went straight to V/L and didn't at least try Veronica and Duncan, then... the issue would always just be lingering, and I don't want the idea of Veronica and Duncan looming everytime Veronica and Logan are together. This way, they can have her date Duncan for awhile, have it not work out, and... go see Logan again.
So, Dick and Beaver are season regulars now? Interesting. I heard the Casablancas would be more involved in the show this season, but I had no idea it would be that much.
Logan/Charisma Carpenter: oh, Logan. Didn't you learn from Lilly that sleeping with your boyfriend's mother does not lead to happy times?Come on, Dick and Logan are so boyfriends. The parallel totally works here. Not the least bit surprising for me. Obviously it's not going to last long, but it'll be interesting to see where it goes.
Wallace/Veronica! I love their friendship. Just... sigh. I loved all the Wallace and Veronica scenes in this episode. And I like the Keith/Wallace dynamic as well. And super yay for Keith/Alicia! Except, didn't I hear like at the very end of last season Alicia was becoming a series regular? Did I totally imagine that? Or am I just forgetting her being in the credits?
I kind of enjoyed Meg being a bitch. It was amusing, seeing as all last year she was the sweetest thing ever. It was most amusing at the very start ("Let's go! Let's go! L-E-T-S ...wha?"), but it got old after awhile. But geez, then? THEY KILLED OFF MEG. WTF? (that's a good wtf, btw) TOTALLY AWESOME. I mean, I don't hate Meg, but I think it's totally awesome that they did that.
The main plot was kind of week. It was wrapped up before the last quarter of the show, and I don't think I full understood what the resolution was. The episode was very strong otherwise, though.
Dick's "You and your lady friend with whom I have no problem with whatsoever" thing to Logan was fucking hilarious.
I loved the Laker girl and Tara Reid meta-jokes.
...yeah, ok, I guess that's it. BUT OMG VM IS BACK AND JUST AS GOOD AS EVER AND I LOVE THIS SHOW!
...is it Wednesday yet?WAIT, DUH, IT ALREADY IS WEDNESDAY. Well, ok, next Wednesday?
So, I saw that I got this envelope in the mail from Reed College, and it was from the admissions office, and I figured that it was just them trying to pimp themselves out to me (which it was). But then in the letter it said "By now from your more filled mailbox, you can probably tell that colleges are trying to get your attention" and then I was all "...BUT I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANYTHING FROM ANY OTHER COLLEGES WANTING ME TO APPLY." And then I felt unloved. :(...um, not really. It just kind of amused me.
Chair test tomorrow, and I lugged my tenor all the way into the car and everything and then it turns out that I forgot my book with the exercises we're being tested on at school. I am clearly very wise. Meh, whatever. If I were to be chaired with anyone, it'd be Emma, on bassoon, and Sado, on bari sax, and yeah. I'm on tenor sax. It's not like it matters if I'm third chair. In any case, I don't think they do the chairing between us until 1st semester and 2nd semester, when they post the lists. So, yeah. Not too terrible.

Date: 2005-09-29 07:25 am (UTC)Poor Logan. His whole life is all "nyargh" right now. I love V/D, except I really didn't like the way Duncan was, ignoring Veronica when he thought they were siblings. I totally get why Logan is all psycho, seeing as Duncan just dumped her, then spent the whole year ignoring her...except he did the same thing. He was more of an ass.
They should get SMG to star on VM too. lolz. I bet Veronica will end up with Logan at the end f the season though.

Date: 2005-10-01 12:12 am (UTC)Yeah, Logan seems to me more like an end-of-season guy, which is another reason I'm not too bothered that Veronica and Duncan are together now. I'd be very surprised if Veronica and Logan didn't hook up even briefly sometime this season.

Date: 2005-09-29 02:19 pm (UTC)I don't watch VM but I read your summary and I have friends who always keep me updated on it, I know the gist I guess. I didn't see LV breaking up considering how many fans they have, but I'm always rooting for the underdog so yay VD, I guess? lol. Ummm... I don't have any idea who this Meg person - but omgosh - Logan slept with CC?! That is wack!

Date: 2005-09-29 02:45 pm (UTC)V/D are cute together. I feel like I'm betraying my LoVe bandwagon here, but whatever. The jealousy is so hot.

Date: 2005-10-01 12:14 am (UTC)Haha, I don't think I'm betraying V/L since I still like them a million times more than V/D. But V/D are all right for now.
