Is it possible to have senioritis when I'm only a junior? Because I think I have it. I mean, before it was like... half of me wanted to be out of high school and get to go off to college, and the other half didn't want to leave my friends and life here and didn't want greater responsibility and work. But recently it's been... a lot more of me wanting to be out of high school and off to college. And it's not even that high school's becoming horrible because it's not, it's actually really great, far better than last year. But I keep looking into colleges for my assignment for my college counselor that I go to outside of school, and looking at courses you can take and stuff and I'll just be like "omg I want to take that course" or "omg it would be sooooo amazing to go there". I don't know, there are still good things about being here and being in high school, but right now I think the pros for going to college outweigh the pros for staying here. =/ At least next week I get to go to Boston and visit bunches of colleges. That should be excellent.

In-class essay in English today on outside reading books. I read Pride, Prejudice and Jasmin Field by Melissa Nathan, which is basically just Pride and Prejudice in 2000. And not like Bridget Jones is based on Pride and Prejudice, but like... every since event happens basically the same and it's the exact same storyline. There were some changes. Like Wickham, in this one, is so much worse. I mean, in the original, he just used Georgiana for her money. In this one, he's an abusive alcoholic who punches Georgiana's stomach when she's pregnant and causes her to bleed profusely and miscarry. Yeah. Definitely worse. It was an enjoyable book. But bleh, my essay was probably one of my weaker ones. I think my first semester outside reading book essay is pretty equal to the one I wrote today, and that was the worst grade of any essay I've done all year. Very rushed and my arguments don't have much support and blah. Not good.

So, I don't think I'm going to be around very much for the next four weeks. Four weeks from now is when I have my AP test and SAT II's and I also have a final in Euro the week before my actual AP Euro exam, and I really need to start studying for it. And of course next week I'll be in Boston. So yeah, I'm going to try to cut down on LJ time and TV (of course, there are some shows, such as Veronica Mars, that there's no chance I'm not seeing the second they air).

It's totally possible to have senioritis as a junior. I had it worse junior year than I did for most of this year, lol. Oooh, what colleges are you visiting in Boston? Boston is awesome. :)

I'm visiting Amherst, Wellesley, Tufts, Harvard, Brandeis, Boston College, and Brown. Amherst I know is pretty far from Boston but we're going there the very first day we arrive and staying there in Amherst until the next day, and then we'll drive to Boston. Oh and Brown is in Providence, Rhode Island, but it's only 50 miles from Boston, and I'd really like to go there. And Harvard btw is just for fun/to see what it's like, I'm not planning on applying there. Boston totally is awesome. I visited it when I was like... 9 or 10, and I absolutely loved it. It'll be fun to visit again.

I visited Harvard just for fun, too. It's really nice there, and Cambridge is so cool, but I'm not even close to smart enough to get into Harvard. hee, that's where Brown is? It's kinda sad that I didn't know that, I always thought it was in NY. Is there an Ivy League school in NY? lol. Wellesley is the all girl's one, right?

I think I love Boston so much because it's definitley a city, but it's not crazy and hectic like NYC or LA, and is really old-looking and pretty. :)

I really like Boston, I hope you have a great visit there! College is pretty awesome, I have to say. I'm about to graduate, and while I'm glad to be moving on with my life, it was definitely a really good time.

I read Pride, Prejudice, and Jasmin Field a while ago! I liked it a lot for a light, fun read.

It's happening to me, and I'm still a sophmore. I look at the student circular everyday and squee at all the students getting into the colleges they want, and I wanna go too! Hee. I also have the habit of stealing college brochures and sample aps at the Guidance Office, which I'm not meant to do until I'm a Junior/Senior.
