Michael Urie (who plays Marc on Ugly Betty) is in a production of Hamlet as Horatio at South Coast Rep in Costa Mesa and I'm going to see it on June 22nd! :D I'm so ridiculously excited, you have no idea. It's only three weeks away!

Today is prom but I'm not going because I didn't have a date and I didn't like how the group was working out and I don't enjoy those sorts of things and the only reason I ever was inclined to go was because all my friends were going and I wanted to hang out with them. But now instead I'm going with Jackie and Jessica and a bunch of other people to see Pirates and get dinner and such, and I think I'm going to have a much better time doing that than going to prom. I'm also not going to Grad Nite for basically the same reason and so I guess Jackie, Soan, and I might do something? But it's not really settled yet. In any case, senior finals are two weeks from yesterday and then there are a few days and then it's graduation, and wow I can't believe it's almost over. It felt like I was waiting forever to graduate, and now all of a sudden it's here, and it's kind of crazy. I'm excited, though. I'm really sick of all this school stuff I have left to do.

Luckyyy!!

I didn't go to my prom either, never regretted it for a second. Pirates and dinner sounds like much more fun! I don't think my class had Grad Nite, we did stay in some "cabin" place Disney has, for three days. Which was SO much fun, getting to go to a couple different parks the entire weekend and just hanging out in the cabin, watching Survivor, heh.It was in either it's first or second season that year, I never watched it before that night. I did go to my boyfriend's Grad Nite though, I loved it. Went on Space Mountain two times within a matter of fifteen minutes. Ugh, I hate when I start to miss high school. Because I definitely am glad I'm out of there.

Yeah, my friend was telling me how she knows someone who didn't go to prom and thought she wouldn't care but now she really regrets it, but I really don't think I will. I just don't enjoy that sort of thing, and the only reason I even wanted to go was spend time with my friends, and I'll be doing that anyways, so it should be good.

Both of those sound like a lot more fun than our Grad Nite. For us, we just go to school and basically get locked into the gym/area outside the gym and once we're there we can't leave until it's over. And that's one of the main reasons I don't want to go, because I don't want to be stuck there, unable to leave if I'm having an awful time. And they have a bunch of stuff for you to do but it costs $150 now and it's just not worth it.

Yeah, I guess it's all about your opinion...your state of mind. I don't even talk to anybody from high school anymore, not really. So there's nothign to really regret. And to regret not going to a dance? Just seems silly to me. But some people really care about the kind of stuff. The only reason I look forward to a 10 year reunion? Just to see what everyone looks like, and most likely people won't mind talking to former classmates they never did/would talk to in high school. You know? It's just an interesting change of environment. Curiosity. Or something.

A lock-in? Eep, that's unusual for a Grad Nite. I went to a lock-in once, but it was in 7th grade, I think. And it was with people I didn't know, some after school thing. It was huge and I met and talked to complete strangers, which was interesting. Hung out with a cute boy too, heh. But $150? I don't think that'd be worth it at all. Do something YOU want to do for 1/5 of that price.

Yeah, like I'm sure my friend who was telling me that really enjoyed prom because that's the sort of thing she'd enjoy but... I just wouldn't. Anyways, I ended up having a really awesome time with my friends going to Pirates and dinner, so I'm really glad I decided not to go to prom.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous. I thought originally it was like you could come and leave but... getting locked in doesn't sound fun. And there's stuff to do like face-painting and I think one year they had a rock-climbing wall, and they give you free stuff (well, not really free, considering how much you have to pay to get in), but it's just not worth it to me.

i think its fair warning to tell you that if you were to do something instead of grad night i'd be obligated to crash it.
