I watched some of the special features on the Doctor Who S3 DVDs last night, including the set tour with Freema Agyeman, and came to the conclusion that Freema is ridiculously adorable and I love her so much. I also saw that she does the commentary for The Last of the Time Lords with John Barrowman, which I am ridiculously looking forward to. I've only gotten through the commentary for Runaway Bride, the deleted scenes, the gag real, and the set tour, so it'll be a little bit before I get to that. Still, very excited.

I watched last night's Brothers & Sisters.
I liked it, but at the same time, something felt off. I think it's because the show has really moved past what drew me to it in the first place: the relationships between all the brothers and sisters and the family aspects. I mean, there were so many family dinners and events last season where they were all together, and now they're just separated. Nora and Justin were in this episode for about 5 seconds, and Tommy and Julie weren't in it at all (...not that I really minded that. I'm so tired of their storyline).

My favorite part of the episode was Sarah and Kevin hanging out, because... well, that's exactly what I want from this show! I want them all relating to each other.

Also, I hate the implication that Rebecca might not be William's daughter. If they do this, they better go all the way and have her get a DNA test, if only to prove that SHE IS WILLIAM'S DAUGHTER. Because I won't accept anything else.

I'm also getting really tired of the politics storylines, because you know that Robert has to either lose the nomination or the presidency, unless they want Kitty and Robert to break up (and please, no. I would like if the married couples on the show could actually STAY MARRIED. I'm SO tired of infidelity storylines, too, btw.) or have Kitty even more removed from the rest of her family. And I'm assuming they're not going to do that, so... the focus on the storylines is just kind of tiring.

Ok, so this makes it seem like I don't like the show or hated this episode, and the thing is, I actually really enjoyed the episode. But all these little things that have been bothering me keep growing and building up. I think this is the last episode before the strike, and I think they're coming back with a few more episodes this season, so I'm hoping that the show gets back to the family scenes and relationships.

I think I'm getting sick. I've felt like vomiting since last night, and I feel kind of dizzy. But I don't have a fever, and I haven't actually thrown up, so I don't know. I'm debating whether or not to go to Wind Ensemble tonight. Normally, I probably would just blow it off, but we have a concert on Friday and I'm in a smaller ensemble and have a couple solos, and we've only had the music since school started up again, so... this would be the fourth week, and we only have two rehearsals a week, and... yeah. It just seems like it's not the week to miss rehearsal. blah. I don't know.

i think two eps ago they had one of their crazy family type dinner things. and i actually do enjoy the politics. its kinda cool how it fts with what's goin on, though i'm pretty sure that's what they meant for it to happen.

I totally forgot about that! I was really surprised when the door opened and it was Keith! I hope he's going to stay on for awhile.

They did have a crazy family dinner thing a few episodes ago, and they have had others this year, but it just feels like the family has gotten all together much less than last season. I don't actually mind the politics when I'm watching, but it's like... I know that Robert can't win, so it seems kind of pointless to me? I guess? I think it's more that I feel like they focus so much on the politics and that time could be spent with more family scenes. I did like that it fits with what's going, on, though; that was cool.

I think this show really isn't the same without its writers taking an active role. From what I understand, these episodes were completed before the strike, but they had to be filmed as-is once the strike was in full effect and the showrunners weren't on set at the time to keep things moving in the right direction. I enjoyed last night's episode, but I see what you mean. I think it's tough for shows in their second season to stick to their original concept. That being said, pre-strike, this was a pretty memorable season. I think the writers should be able to carry whatever storylines they set up into S3.

What I liked about last night was that it had a fair amount of humor and although Kitty was removed from the family, she was getting adjusted to this life she's built with Robert and getting closer to his kids. I don't think they're setting up a Robert/Kitty blowout, although I don't think he's going to win the general election or perhaps, even, the primary.

Yeah, I agree. I think they've also gone through a lot of changes with the staff what with Greg Berlanti (and Marc Guggenheim, too, I think) going off to Eli Stone (they're still producing Brothers & Sisters, but I think their attention is more focused to that. And actually, I think Berlanti is also involved in Dirty Sexy Money, although I could be wrong), and the creator of the show (I forget his name, but his last name is Baitz) getting ousted and having a new showrunner this year and such. And yeah, I did actually really enjoy last night's episode, more than the previous few weeks even. And there have been some very good episodes. I just really miss the family dynamics.

I actually did really like the scenes with Kitty and Robert's kids and her kind of finding a place in their family. I wouldn't be commenting if it was just like one episode, but there have been so many episodes with little family interaction, and I really miss them all being together.
