I got a paid account! It was far easier than I thought it would be. See, someone bought Lulu ([livejournal.com profile] violetmist2003) a paid account and I was totally jealous, so I finally went to my mom, gave a half-assed explanation of what LJ was ("It's like this place where you can go and like talk to other people about stuff you have in common. And stuff. And you can make pretty icons and post them and... yeah!") and then told her paid accounts were better and I had enough money and I'd totally pay her back if I could use her credit card to buy one. So she asked me to give her the money first and I did, and then I bought myself 6 months of paid account time and 6 months of extra userpics. I've only uploaded a few now so I have ones of the fandoms I've been wanting to post icons of but I really need to be doing my homework now. I'll play around more with it later. And wheee, I can use a paid account layout! I'm so happy. I should've asked my mom months ago. And it won't expire until February 2, 2006! I mean, I logically know how long 6 months is, but it seems so much longer when I realize that I won't have to worry about renewing it until February. I mean, I've only had this LJ for less than 8 months. 6 months is long.

Pretty disappointing. I dropped from a 680 in reading on the last test to a 620. guh. Lowest score yet. My highest score was actually the very first test, a 690. I don't know how the hell I dropped so far. Really disappionted in myself for that. My mom got kind of pissed off about it, too. blah. In math, though, I shot up from a 690 on the last test (670 on the first) to a 740, which I am very pleased about. Got another 12 on the essay (at least that's staying consistent) and the same on the grammar, so a 740 on the writing again. If I could just freaking stay consistent on the reading (went from a 690 to a 640 to a 680 to a 620), I could actually have a pretty decent score (though nothing like Lulu's fabulous 2380. I totally hate you for that, by the way. You're far too smart for your own good). At least in my overall score, my math made up for my reading, so I only went down from a 2110 to a 2100. So, I'm still at the 2100 mark, which is my like... minimum goal for the actual test. Only one more test left. Let's hope I can get my reading score up for that.

I got an Audioscrobbler account earlier today and put a little thing in my info that says the last 5 songs I listened to on iTunes. I find it really cool, because I'm dorky like that.

No time to play around with Paid Account features right now, but I'm going to have loads of fun with them tonight. Ah, I'm so happy. :D

Congratulations again! :D Hee we can play around with the options together. Kind of. Anyway, it'll be awesome.

I hate you too >:O. And my score will probably go back down to around 2100 this week anyway, cause last week's score was a freak of nature.

Hee, yes. And while I may have been jealous that you got your paid account, I'm soooo happy you did now, because otherwise I probably never would have asked my mom.

That is definitely a freak of nature score. But hey, 2100 is still amazing too. You're still too smart for your own good.

You're welcome ;).

I still think the people who got 2400 were crazy. But I think my parents'll be slightly disappointed if I get like 2200 this time, instead of going 'good job!'. I probably should've never told them my score -__-.

They must've been like... geniuses. geez. My mom was really pissed off that I dropped 60 points in the reading. I shouldn't have told her that, I should've just told her that I went up 50 points in then math and my score was a 2100. She could figure out the rest herself.

From: [identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com
Haha, exactly. It's not your fault if she doesn't bother to calculate the rest of the score. Little white lies never hurt anybody.

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Hee, exactly. Besides, that saves me 10 minutes of lecture about "OMG HOW COULD YOU GO DOWN THAT MUCH?!" and then "You should really talk to your teachers at the SAT place about this." That was the more annoying part of the talk. She kept pressuring me to talk to them about it. Like... what are they supposed to do? They've done all they can. And besides, I do really well when we do the sections in class. It's just having to spend 4 1/2 hours taking tests and doing multiple sections that gets to me.

From: [identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com
The test is horrible, seriously. By the last few sections, I'm so tired/bored that I don't even want to bother checking my work. They should split up the test into two days, or at least have like a half-hour break between them.

Date: 2005-08-02 10:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
I know, seriously. By the end, I just don't care anymore. They need to have fewer sections. Or at least, as you said, break the test up. sigh. 4 1/2 hours of constant thought is just too much.

Date: 2005-08-02 10:37 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com
It's stupid that the testmakers decide how long the students sit at the test, without our input. Blah.

Date: 2005-08-02 10:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
It is. I was going to say that at least it's better than the CAT 6/Stanford 9/STAR 9, etc. tests, because those they give you like 2 hours for sections that take 45 minutes, but actually, even that's better. Then you actually get some time to rest from thinking. With the SAT, it's like... 5 minutes at most.

From: [identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com
The STAR testing's pretty awesome. The score doesn't count for anything [except as a reflectin of school performance], you get like an hour to listen to music/sleep at the end, and there's no homework those days.

Date: 2005-08-02 10:42 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Yeah. It's so easy, and it doesn't matter if you do well anyways. I remember this past year, you gave me the DVD of the QaF episodes on the Monday of the testing, too, so I was able to stay up until 1 or 2 AM watching it and it totally didn't matter that I was exhausted the next day.

It's sad, cause when I was in like 6th grade I actually studied and tried hard. Then again, I think they used those scores to judge GATE/APAAS, so I guess it actually meant something. But still. Lameness. And my parents make way too big a deal out of it.

Date: 2005-08-03 02:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Hee, nice. And yeah, they used those scores fo APAAS. That's how I got in. I think you had to have a 90th percentile or above. I don't know. I always got 99th percentiles on all of the subjects, so... I didn't really care what the boundary was. They're so pointless now, though.

Haha congrats! Paid accounts are so fun, and the layouts are REALLY fun to play with. Theres also alot of help comms out there that help with new things you can customize the layout to do so check some of those out.

*Hee* Thats like me with PDVD i'm so happy to have it I keep playing around with it... I really should take a break from it.... hmm....

Anyway congrats (again) :]

Thank you! I can't wait to try out one of the paid account layouts. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look for communities to help me figure out how to customize them. :)

Yep, it's from Dead Like Me. I only watched the pilot episode about a week ago, but I fell in love with it instantly.

Because that show was cancelled, I think. Last year? I'm so confused.

Yeah, it was cancelled, I downloaded the pilot because I heard it was good and watched it last week. Then I downloaded the first and second seasons and watched them the following weekend.

Paid accounts are so much fun. Gonna be my turn to pay for it again in about two months. Next time, I hope to be able to add in more userpics to the option becuase 15? not enough anymore.

You'll love your paid account and you'll wonder how you've gone without one for so long *g*

Date: 2005-08-03 03:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Heh, 15 seems like so many to me. I've never been able to have more than 3. Of course, I figure I'll probably be wanting more than 15 soon, so I ended up getting the extra userpics when I bought the paid account anyways. 50 seems like so many right now to me, though.

Heh, I already don't know what I'll do if I'm unable to continue to have a paid account after my time runs out. There so many awesome features! I love it.

Date: 2005-08-03 07:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stolenglimpse.livejournal.com
I so know what you mean with the userpics. With only 3 we were all "what? 15? no way will I be filling all of them" but now it's like a possibility of 50?! and it's the same way for a lot of people I know but then, they're all "we need more than 50; look at greatestjournal and their 1000 spots *g*

I love all the features. Moodthemes, your own customisations... endless possibilities. Now, if I could only start doing anything that's bigger than 100x100... and that would be nice looking... Heh.

YOU GOT A 740 IN MATH?!
WTF I'M STEALING YOUR BRAIN.

Date: 2005-08-03 03:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Hee. I'm so proud of that 740. On the first test the math score I got was a 670 (which is still good, just... not as good) and I've been steadily increasing it, so I'm proud that I've managed to raise it 70 points.

Oh wow you go ta paid account, i have been thinking about it alittle, but just wondering, liek what features do you actually get?

Date: 2005-08-03 03:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Well, you can get more userpics, which is one of the major reasons why I wanted to get one. You can also get access to better layouts. You can make phoneposts, which is fun. I don't know. It's just a lot better in my opinion than the free accounts. It's not that expensive, either. $5 for 2 months.

Date: 2005-08-03 03:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] campmotha.livejournal.com
hmm Ok coolio, i migh tthink about it some more. hehe i am so stingy, but 5 bucks is like 9 bucks here so you know.

Date: 2005-08-03 03:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Yeah, I can understand that. I forgot, you can also make polls and use a mood theme if you have a paid account. There are probably some other features I'm forgetting.
