...apparently someone hacked into my e-mail or figured out my password or something and sent an e-mail to everyone in my address book about... selling something. Like, the e-mail was in bad English and it was about selling electronic stuff for cheap from China. I don't know. But, as I said, it sent it to EVERYONE IN MY ADDRESS BOOK. ugh. I'm just... really embarrassed. Like, my parents and friends I talk to regularly and even people in there like Mrs. Bentley I'm sure will understand and it's no big deal. But I have people in there like Tiffany who I was really good friends with for several years and then we just stopped talking and now whenever we see each other we pretty much pretend we don't know each other and... awkward. And there are other people in there who, like, I worked with on projects in high school or like... Michele Wong who sent me the minutes from BEC meetings when I was running the band website, and I haven't talked to them in like a year or so, and it's just so awkward and embarrassing. I sent an e-mail to everyone explaining what happened. I hope some of them don't have my name in their address book so they have no idea who sent it. It's less that it got sent that is embarrassing and more that I have some of these people in my address book. ugh. I don't know, just whenever I send an e-mail Hotmail automatically adds them to my address book unless I uncheck the person's e-mail or whatever, and sometimes I forget or am too lazy or I figure it won't matter. slkfj goddamnit I did not want to have to deal with this!

I really should just close that e-mail, and I would since I've had it since 7th grade and I've wanted to for awhile and I already have a g-mail account I use more and a school account. But that's where my parents and close friends all know where to reach me, and I don't like e-mailing people (I luckily didn't have TOO many people in my address book) so I've never felt like changing it and e-mail everyone a new one. blah. I'm really upset about this.

Ahh, the same exact thing happened to my friend recently! It was about selling gold watches or something. It went to my spam folder automatically, though. So it's possible the the people in your address book might never even see it. I use Yahoo, which is pretty great when it comes to catching spam. I remember always despising hotmail because it gave me all sorts of problems. But, honestly, gmail ftw.

But when my friend sent her big apology email I was like, "what?"

I hope it goes to spam folders. The thing is, I've been meaning to get rid of that one for ages, and whenever I'm asked for my e-mail these days, I always give out either my g-mail or my school e-mail (which also uses g-mail, so it's far superior to hotmail). I hope some of the random people it sent it to either got it in their spam folder or even forgot that the e-mail address is mine. I mean, it doesn't even really matter since I probably won't see those people ever again, but still.
