I'm in such a good mood for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It's awesome. I doubt it'll last long, but for now, it's great.

Dentist appointment this morning. Wasn't bad, though, because it was the dentist rather than the orthodontist, and my dentist is really nice and not the spawn of Satan (as my orthodontists are). Then at 1 pm I had a meeting at Collegewise with this college counselor person that I... I don't know, signed up? to do. Second meeting. It was fine. ...I don't know. Nothing to really say about it, I guess.

The place on my upper arm where they gave me the shot is becoming increasingly painful. This morning it was just kind of sore, and the nurse said that it could feel sore for a day or two so I wasn't too worried, but now it's like... I don't know. Kind of puffed up, I guess? I can't explain it. It really worries me, though. I guess I'll just wait till tomorrow and see if it's gotten any worse. =/

I'm all of a sudden in the mood for Arrested Development. I was bored last night and didn't feel like going to sleep, so I was searching for caps to make icons of, and I saw some Arrested Development caps so I made icons from Key Decisions and Visiting Ours, and then I all of the sudden missed the show a lot and had the urge to watch it. I'd watch the season 1 DVDs I have, except there's already a bunch of other shows I've been planning on watching. sigh.

SAT class was very good today. We got the essays back that I was bitching about having to do, and I got a perfect score on it. And also, he was commenting on them before handing them back, and he said "This is an example of a perfect intro" and then read mine. Awesome. I totally have the hang of the essay part. Now I just have to worry about... the rest. Oh, but also, we did a math section and I got them all right, and I was proud. I think this class is really helping, which is good.

Thanks to Jackie, I may be able to sell my AP US book from last year to someone who's taking AP US next year. Awesome. And plus, I told my mom this because she had been bugging me about selling it, and last year when I bought it from whoever I bought it from, she said "You better sell it next year so I can get my money back" so I was assuming she'd want the money, but when I told her about it, she said "Oh, that's good. You can keep however much you sell it for." My mom is awesome. Especially since I spent all my money at Warped. Now I can buy some CDs I've been wanting for ages. Yay! :D

Edit: I started to get really worried about the tetanus shot reaction I'm having, so I looked it up online. On one site it said that occasionally swelling can occur and also soreness and the place where it was injected can become red (slightly pinkish now) and stuff. It said to take non-prescription medicine (aspirin) for the pain and fever, and to put ice on it for 20 min every 3-4 hours. I also found something that says "The most common adverse reactions are local pain, redness, and/or swelling at the injection site. This is self-limited and requires no treatment. Occasionally, a small nodule (bump) may be felt for several weeks." Which is pretty much exactly what I have: it feels like a small bump there, I don't know if it's what they refer to as swelling or a bump. There's also the pain and the redness. But, it seems to be... well, not common, but... not serious. So, I think it's fine. I'll put ice on it and hope it improves sometime soon.

I have to return your Wonderfalls DVDs. Someday. But hey, Fox is airing the un-aired episodes, right? So that should be good.

Essays are evil. I have one due tomorrow for IVC.

Heh, I haven't sold mine yet. Yay!

...I don't think they are. O__o I'm pretty sure I would've heard about that. I know that Logo is, but... not very many people get that. I don't, and I have COX cable. It's a brand new station, and it's totally awesome. Gay and lesbian focused. I want to get it, blah. But it's ok about the Wonderfall DVDs, there are so many other shows I need to catch up on/want to marathon that... I won't have the urge to watch the Wonderfall DVDs for a long time. Oh, but I think you need to borrow my Arrested Development DVDs, because that's another awesome show, and how many shows have I told you to watch that you ended up really liking by now?

They are evil. The SAT ones aren't bad now, though, just because... I have a perfect formula for them. Ones once school starts will suck, though.

Haha, good job.

Oh, really? Maybe it's in another country then. I know someone on my LJ said some TV network was airing them.

Haha, I'll borrow AD someday as well. And..let's see: VM, Wonderfalls, Buffy [slightly?] :).

I think there's a place in Canada that is, or was.

What about Lost? I don't remember if you watched it because I talked about it in my blog, but I did start watching it first. ...ok, I feel like there are more I'm forgetting. Well, it seems like there should be more! >:O 3-4 is a lot, though. Oh, duh, Doctor Who! I told you that you should watch it, and you ended up liking it, right? And you started watching House because of me and liked it some. ...even if you did get kind of tired of it. But you didn't hate it, did you?

Lost, maybe. I think it was both you and Jack. Doctor Who, I had downloaded but never got around to watching them until you started saying they were awesome. So that's half :P. House was okay. I might've given it another chance if it weren't for the other 7328947 shows I have to watch, so it wasn't horrible. But not really my type of show, I guess.

But still. This shows that I at least have similar taste as you in shows. So, you should like Arrested Development, too. >:O

Psh. More proof that tetanus shots are overrated. (Yes I know they're important shh!)

I wish we could have had SAT practice like that here. I was totally unprepared for the SATs when I took them. I didn't do bad but still. My school claims to be preparing people for college but they really are worthless. Point in case...Out of our 14 chapter Algebra 2 book, we got midway through chapter 6 in a year.

Out of curiosity, what book did you have for AP US? Ours was called the American Pageant. We didn't finish that either.

Heh, I know. And since this has freaked me out so much I've been looking online to make sure this is normal and my arm won't fall off or anything and I've found so many things that are all "Oh, they can't even prove that shots help protect you" and "The good things about shots don't outweigh the bad" and so on, and I already hate shots in the first place, so all this is really not helping me warm up to them.

Yeah, I'm really glad I'm taking this class, it seems like it'll help a lot. Actually, the SAT prep they offer at summer school at the high school I go to I've heard is really crappy, but I've been going to the Princeton Review prep, and that really helps. During the normal school year, though, my school's really good about prepping for AP tests and college and all.

That's the same one we used. I think we actually did get to the end, though. Or like second to last chapter. Finished right before the AP exams, too. In our class we didn't actually actively use our books, though. It was more just... lectures every day and then on the test, there'd be some stuff in the multiple choice from the book, so we had to read the chapters even though they weren't required by our teacher too make sure we'd do well.

The SAT prep class I took was taught during the school year, when I was in 9th grade (hah!) so it was pretty pointless.

But yeah...Out of the ones of us who took the SAT last year, only 3 of us got over 1000. One just barely, at 1010. (Not counting the writing part here, as some people took the old version and not the new and vice versa) Sad, really. My school touts how good at preparing kids they are, and 7 people don't even break the average SATs for college. Whatever. It's entirely not our faults either.

Yeah, in history this year we got up to WWI. That's the farthest I've ever gotten in history. And I've never even learned world history, really. Our world history book was 95% just US history. Sucks.

Yeah, that sounds pretty ridiculous. I didn't even bother thinking about SATs my freshman year. I'll be a junior next year, so I think now is a good time to start preparing. At the place I'm taking it, they guarantee a 2100 (which I guess would've been a 1400 with the old SAT) if you follow all the stuff they say, and if you get below that, then they'll give you some bonus free classes, or something.

I don't know if our school boasts about doing well, but... well, we do. We had two (actually, I may have heard 3) 2400's after the first time of taking the new SAT, and I'm pretty sure no other school in the nation had more than 1. Plus, last year we had about 30 semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship (though that's the PSAT, not the SAT). So, yeah. It's odd that the SAT prep classes suck so much at our school. I guess all the people are either naturally brilliant, or take prep classes elsewhere.

Yeah, see we went all the way up to... now, I guess. He lectured up till the end of Clinton. He went through George W. Bush as well, but there wasn't really anything to say, as we actually remember that stuff, and they weren't likely to test on it on the AP exams either. That sucks about never learning world history. Freshman year I took global, which was essentially world history. First semester we went from the Renaissance to WWI, then second semester was all about developing nations. Second semester was pretty ridiculous, really. But it's ok, because we have the option to take European History junior year (other choice is Art History or no history class at all) and that covers up to present time, I believe.

Oh wow...That is a good deal. I wish they had that kind of thing around here :]

Holy crap that is awesome. I don't think anyone around here even broke 2000 on the new one :P

I had "world history" as a freshman, US history in 10th and 11th, and next year I have US & VA government. Fun stuff.

Yeah, it is a pretty good deal. And heh, yeah, out of the four high schools in the area, we're known as the brainy/nerdy ones. Though the other schools in the area have done pretty well, too.

For us it's global (world history), US History, then either Art History or Euro. Poli Sci and Economics are semester classes and required to graduate, so most take those either senior year or in summer school right before senior year so they can have a free period. Or, as I said, some decide to take no history class after sophomore year.
