May. 10th, 2009 10:20 pmI finished my paper! The last section is total crap, but whatever! It's done! When I was finishing it up, the professor for the class updated our grades, and I found out I got a 94 on the final! I was expecting lower, so I'm very pleased with that. That means that I have a 97 in the class, so it was really hard to motivate myself to work on the paper. Hopefully I did well enough on the paper for a B, because I think that's all I need to keep an A in the class.
I mentioned sometime last week about living with Li and some people next year. Originally I was leaning towards getting my own place and using that as a back-up plan because I do like having my own room, but in the past few days, I've changed my mind. Part of it is that I just want to have a place and am tired of searching and all that. Another large part is that this apartment is so close to school, unlike the other one I looked at in April. Plus, it would be much cheaper to live with them. So I ended up deciding to just go with that. I saw the place today, and it's pretty good. It has two floors and a basement. The room I'm sharing with Li is pretty big, definitely bigger than the double I had last year. The kitchen is also really big. I'm kind of excited about it, really. And I'm super happy to officially have somewhere to live. Hopefully it'll work out.
I've started Buffy Season 2 with my parents. We just finished Halloween. Oh man, I love season 2. I know most people on LJ in Buffy fandom love Spike and Buffy/Spike and seasons 5 and 6, but I'm all about Buffy/Angel. And I just really adore season 2; it's by far my favorite (although season 3 is pretty spectacular as well. And season 1 is my third favorite; I totally don't get why so many people think it sucks or hate it). It's so much fun to watch it again, since it's been ages since the last time I watched it. There's so much I've forgotten, too! Right before we saw Reptile Boy, I saw the title of the episode, and I was like "...I recognize the title of the episode, but I have absolutely no clue what happens in it!" And then I remembered like 5-10 minutes in, but still. And Oz! We got to his first episodes! Oh Oz. I adore Oz and Willow/Oz so much. And Willow season 2 is pretty kick-ass. I'm remembering now why she was my favorite character for so long. (Actually, she might still be. I just haven't thought about Buffy recently enough to know for sure or whatever.)
I've moved out most of my stuff from my dorm room, I just need to move some boxes and check out and all that. I thought I was going to try to stay caught up with my flist, but I'm realizing now that that's just not going to happen. I'm going to try to still update, but I probably won't have internet access (or at least not good internet access) everywhere we stay.

Date: 2009-05-13 03:23 am (UTC)I absolutely adore Angel going evil, too. That's one of the main reasons I love this season so much. I do like the first half of the season a lot (there are some really great episodes in there, like School Hard and Halloween and the What's My Line episodes), but once Angel gets evil, basically every other episode that season is amazing.
The thing is, with season 1, it's just so enjoyable. I do agree that there are a lot of filler episodes, but I like how they help us get to know the characters, and there are so many funny scenes and moments. And there is the Master arc in there, too, so it's not totally filler. He is kind of silly, but I enjoy his sillines! I like him more as a villain than like Adam, for example. In comparison to season 1, season 7 is just completely boring to me (although I think there are still a few episodes of that season I haven't seen, so maybe I should rewatch it sometime so I can judge it better), which is why it's my least favorite season. I like season 6 slightly more, but it's kind of just too depressing for me, most of the time. Even in the darker/sadder episodes/arcs of earlier seasons, there was still humor and lightness balanced in. And I'm just not a fan of Buffy/Spike, so that arc isn't fun for me to watch, either.
Heh, I didn't mean to babble that much about all of this! I can see how you wouldn't like season 1 as much because of the filler-ness of the episodes, that all above is just how I see it, I guess. :)
