Man. Canada legalized gay marriage. That's awesome. I love Canada.

Orthodontist appointment this morning. blech. I suppose it could've been worse, but it wasn't exactly enjoyable. I'd really like to get these braces off, considering I've had them on since I was in the 4th grade, except for one year (I think in 7th grade) when I had them off. Way too long.

SAT class again today. It isn't that bad, really. Three hours seems long when you think about it, but it actually goes by pretty quickly. I don't know. I don't mind them very much.

Finally finished Felicity. Now of course I want to get the third and fourth seasons. Unfortunately, I definitely don't have enough money, especially not after Warped Tour (Friday! So excited. I love Warped). Oh well.

I've been wanting to watch Fight Club for, like, a year, and I finally did this afternoon. Not much to say about it, really, other than it's a wonderfully fucked up movie and I like it a lot. Now that I've seen it all, I want to watch it again to watch it knowing what you do by the end of the movie, but I think I'll wait awhile for the rewatch.

If I don't comment on any of your posts in your LJ, I'm really sorry, but it's not because I'm being snobby or bitchy or anything. I'm really... I don't know, I'm not shy, because when people talk to me, I can respond just fine. I'm horribly insecure, I suppose, so even if I think of something to say in a comment, I worry that the person won't want me commenting or whatever, or that I'll come off horribly stupid. So, yeah. I know it's ridiculous since it's just livejournal, and who cares? And even if someone does care, it's not a big deal. But... that's just how I am. So. Yeah. I'm hoping it'll get better after a little while, but I don't know. But yeah. Just wanted to say that.

All right. Off to watch Warped Wednesday, which I recorded this morning. Warped Wednesday is this program on Fuse, if you didn't know, where a band on the Warped Tour hosts 4 hours of music videos that they choose and they talk about the tour. They did it last year and I really enjoyed it, particularly since I have the same music taste as the bands. And it's awesome since now I have a DVR-player so I can record the show rather than waking up early and watching it all through.

I remember you said you'd move there if Bush got re-elected. -hums innocently-

Braces are eww. My dentist says I should get them, and I refuse.

You're so..so snobby and..bitchy and I hate you >:O. For never ever commenting on my entries. -goes to cry in a corner-

Haha. It is clearly far cooler than here. And... what, like I get to choose where I live? Maybe I would've moved if I wasn't, you know, 16 (15 when he was reelected) and my parents didn't decide where we lived.

They are ew. I want them gone.

Haha. You don't count! >:O I mean, obviously I don't feel weird commenting on your entries because I've known you since 7th grade. Like I care if you think I'm a total idiot.

Your parents would understand, I'm sure :D.

Hahaha. Of course I would never think so.

Well, my mom did claim that if he was reelected, we'd move to Canada... Actually, I'm pretty sure she said that before the first time he was elected, too. Oh well.

We legalized Gay marriage in Canada because legally it goes against our Charter of Rights and Freedoms since not allowing Gays to legally marry was discrimnation. I think it's pretty cool. I know a lot of people who are upset about it though.

I know how you feel about commenting on journals since I feel the same way.

I think that's pretty cool, too. I'm sure plenty of people would be upset about it if it happened throughout the U.S., too (I think the majority is still against gay marriage, though it isn't a very large majority), but I still find it to be completely discriminatory and wrong and... yeah. Those that have a problem with it here probably don't have to worry much, though, considering I don't see nation-wide legalization of gay marriage happening anytime before Bush finishes his term.

That's sad about the US. I'm personally afraid of the possible backlash though.

Yeah, backlash is something to be concerned about. I think I'm just too angered that it's even an issue, that so many people are all right with denying a group of people rights that people unlike them get (and often take for granted) to think logically about the problems with its legalization.

We already have our fundamentalist party threatening to make it an issue in the next election. I feel that Gays deserve the same rights as Straights, in my mind there's no question about it.

Ugh, that sucks. I mean, unfortunately, it's not very surprising, but it still sucks. That's the thing, I mean I remember taking some stupid survey and a question being "What would be the first thing you'd do if elected president?" and thinking "Legalize gay marriage" immediately, but the problem is, I really couldn't do that. Even ignoring the fact that the president wouldn't have enough power to do that on his/her own, the fact is that there are still too many people against it. It's horrible, and it doesn't make it right that it's not legalized everywhere in the U.S., but it is true.

I doubt that they'll be able to reverse it here. Its one of those things that would go against our Charter. But I could see the party trying to gain votes because it was passed. The thing is that the majority of Canadians don't have a problem with it.

I find it sad that so many people in the US are like that. And perhaps the political situation there prevents the president from being able to do stuff like that. I know it was our Prime Minister that was behind the push for legalization here.

It's good that the majority of Candians don't have a problem with it. I wish that were the case here.

I find it sad as well. And the situation here does make it impossible for the president to just legalize it if he wants to, but that's actually kind of good, since the current president would definitely make it illegal if he were given the oppurtunity. He's already pushed anti-gay marriage legislation that, thankfully, hasn't been able to be passed. So I suppose it is good that the president doesn't have enough power to do it all on his own.

I think I may still go to Warped. I mean...MAE! Friggin Mae!! Probably won't because it's not my scene. Anwyho...

I just did the B&N buy 3 dvds and get one free thing. So yes, I will be getting (hopefully, there's that whole while supplies last thing) Buffy season two, Angel season two and Felicity season one. Buffy is the one that was taken as free. But they were all the same price, Felicity was 1 penny more than the other two, odd eh? Anywho. I'M EXCITEDDDDD!

I love Warped Tour. This'll be the third time I've gone. I don't know if it's really my scene, but I still love it. And every year there are more and more bands I love performing, so it becomes increasingly more awesome to me.

Heh, that's awesome. I got Buffy seasons 1 and 4 and Felicity season 2, which I guess was sort of stupid, since Buffy season 1 is less expensive than the other two, but I had already been planning on getting Buffy seasons 1 and 4, so I wasn't about to choose something else instead of it. DVDs are so much fun. :D

Awesome!! Have fun then!

Aren't they?!? And yeah, i've been wanting to get Buffy 2 and 7 for a while now (i've gotten them all out of order pretty much, ha) and of course two is better than seven! We all know this. And i've been wanting to see Angel season two. Darla and such. Then Felicity, I can't wait to watch! =)

Thanks! :D

Ah, they are. Season 2 was the first Buffy DVD I got because it's my absolute favorite season. Then I got 3 like a week after that and 5 for Christmas a few months later. I've had 2, 3, and 5 for over a year now, and just hadn't bothered getting any others. But now I have 1-5, and I don't care as much about seasons 6 or 7, so I'm satisfied. Angel, I started in order: I got season 1 first and then followed with 2. Don't have 3-5 yet, but I'm hoping to eventually. And watching the DVDs definitely help me remember how much I love Felicity, so now, of course, I really want seasons 3 and 4. Heh, if only I had hundreds of dollars to spare.

Ouch, I know what it's like to have braces. I only had to wear them for two years though. I can't imagine having them for any longer! Wow.

Hey, I know how you feel about the commenting thing too. I can be like that. I think of things to say when I really want to, but I end up not posting because I'm afraid it might sound stupid to the other person or whatever. And you're right, I guess it's not such a big deal, I mean it's just LJ and all. But, so you know, since we don't know each other very well so far, I'd feel totally cool with anything you comment on my journal, that's how I feel with all the people on my f-list. I love to hear what other people have to say. :)

Ah, you're lucky. By now I've almost grown used to it, I guess. Still, I'd really love to finally be able to get them off.

Yeah, I logically know that people probably don't care that much about who comments in their journal, but... I'm still too afraid that I'll come off as an idiot. And thanks for saying that. :) That makes me feel more comfortable commenting.

braces are teh evil but the freedom felt when you get them off is the best high ever.

I so understand about commenting, sometimes I have to have pep talks with myself to actually press that stupid button so yeah - so understandable.

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/brokenrecord__/
Yeah, and I can't wait. Actually, I had them off in 7th grade for about 9 months, and it was awesome. Unfortunately, it was only temporary. I'm really looking forward to getting them off for good.

Yeah, sometimes I just have to assure myself that it's ok and it's really not that big of a deal. And a lot of the time I still won't comment.
