Dec. 16th, 2005 10:42 pmGIP! I don't remember if I mentioned it, but we watched the first hour of the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice in English on Monday, and yeah. This screencap was far too pretty not to make an icon of it.
Anyways. I FINALLY SAW RENT! ...and The Chronicles of Narnia, but that wasn't as exciting for me.
Chronicles of Narnia: I've never read the books but I still had some sort of expectations for this movie. I don't know. I just thought it'd be really amazing. But it took like an hour for the story to really start going, and then after that it was just pretty corny. I don't know. I didn't think it was terrible (and I liked it more than I liked Corpse Bride, which dragged on even longer and was half the time of this one), but it's definitely not something I'd want to see more than once.
It was very, very pretty, though. Very beautiful. The music was lovely, too. The rest of the movie was just pretty meh, though.
Rent! Oh, how I loved Rent. I think it's probably one of my favorite movies now, and that's saying something, considering as it's not very often that I find a movie I love and get into emotionally (the only other one, really, is Moulin Rouge).
I had completely convinced myself for some reason that at the end, either Mimi or Roger would die, so when Mimi was all... well, dead, I was all "OMG I KNEW IT AHHH WHY DO ALL THE MOVIES I LOVE END WITH PEOPLE DYING DAMNIT?!" And then they focused on her hand and I was all "omg no way" AND THEN SHE WAS ALIVE! AH! I like the angst, but it's nice to have a happy-ish ending for once. Angel dying was enough.
Angel/Collins was so good. And so sad. sigh. I loved them so much. Poor Collins. :(
um, I have no idea what else to say, except now I want the soundtrack. I'm thinking tomorrow of going to the Spectrum and getting it for myself in addition to getting Christmas presents for my parents. I don't know if I really want to do that, though, because I really should stay home and finish annotating Pride and Prejudice. I don't know. We'll see.
Ah, I'm in such a good mood now. The rest of the day was kind of crappy (Euro unit test which I don't think I did that well on [though I did know more than 5/80 for sure, like last time. More like... 40ish?], getting outside reading essay back and scored P&P discussions in English and my English grade dropping another percent, not being able to leave after school was out for another hour and a half because of jazz band), but seeing Rent made up for it. :D
One more week (4 more school days), and then winter break! Definitely looking forward to it. I really need a break right about now.
