Mar. 10th, 2006 06:57 pmHaven't been updating much, but nothing much has been happening. I've been owning Pre-Calc and Euro this semester so far, but other than that, this week has been rather boring. Euro this semester so far, but other than that, this week has been rather boring. As of yesterday, though, I can drive other people legally (again)! CA laws are so stupid. If I've already been driving kids legally for 5 months, why bother taking away that privelege from me for one freaking month before I'm able to do it again? wtf? What do you think is going to happen in that month?
Anyways, I'd really like it to be Spring Break. Wicked! plus I remember loving Boston last time I was there (though I was, like, 10), and I'm really excited about checking out colleges there, especially Tufts and Brown (which I know is in Providence, RI, and not Boston, but it's only like 50 mi from Boston, so we're going to check it out). Only college I haven't visited yet that I'd really love to is Vassar, but that's in The Middle of Nowhere, NY, so I don't know how possible that'll be.
Have I mentioned we finished Wuthering Heights? I'm not sure I did. But in any case, I finished it and I love it so freaking much. Even more than Pride and Prejudice. Just reading it on my own I might not have liked it as much, but fully understanding all the themes and symbolism makes it so much better. I love how deep it is and how many layers there are to it. Plus, we had scored discussions this week on it, and they were really interesting. Especially the psychoanalysis one, since the career I've started to lean towards the most is psychology/psychiatry. (Plus, Stephen saying "Yeah, sexual repression is really interesting" was just about the funniest thing ever, especially coming from him. And his whole thing that Freud said that buildings are often phallic symbols in dreams, and Cathy dreamt that she "was flung onto the top of Wuthering Heights". hee. I'm so 12.) Unfortunately, I suck at speaking up and speaking in front of people (and actually, I've found, just speaking in general), so mine didn't go well. I did better than I did in my Pride and Prejudice one, I think, but that's not saying anything, considering I got like a 8/15 on that one. And I actually had some ideas this time, too! But I couldn't get a word in edgewise, because everyone else kept talking, and I don't know how to interrupt people. blah. :(
Um, I guess that's it. Life has been really busy, but also very boring. Looking forward to it being next Wednesday night, as it'll be a new Veronica Mars, new ANTM (guh. Watched season 1 and 2 religiously, stopped watching after that, and then I started getting sucked back in during season 5, and now I'm all into it again. So terrible addicting.), English unit test and essay will be over, and it'll be the night before the band and orchestra festival at UNI which is always fun.
