This week is like one of the best weeks ever of school (except for today, today was just normal) because this week we have to take these like CA standards tests (CAT6 or STAR or STAT9. Whatever they're calling it these days. They tend to change it like every year). They're basically like the SAT except 500000000 times easier, and they have absolutely no bearing on your future, so they're stress free (well, and they also test science and history which the SAT doesn't, but whatever. As I said, the results don't matter at all). So because of these, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we have altered schedules. Tuesday and Wednesday we don't have school at all, just the tests. So, this is what my schedule this week looks like:
Tuesday: School starts at 8 AM (we usually start at 7:30, so even half an hour later makes a difference), STAR testing, then get out at 1 PM (normally we get out at 2:38, so again, very nice).
Wednesday: The same, STAR testing from 8 AM to 1 PM.
Thursday: School starts at 9:20 because the sophomores have to take some section of the test we don't. Shorter periods (about 38 min long) and then get out at 2:38.
Friday: Normal schedule, but I'm going to see the school musical at night and then after that, from 11 PM to 2 AM is this band event where we all go bowling, which sounds kind of lame, but it should be fun.

So yeah, very nice, relaxing week.

Yesterday I went to this thing in Glendale about these 8 colleges, 4 of which I'm planning on applying to. It was kind of a waste of time, since I forgot I had to do a bunch of reading for English, and they all only had like 5 min to talk about their college. But it did make me like one of the colleges I'm applying to, Haverford, a lot more, and now I feel more confident about applying to it.

It's so weird not to have any homework or tests to worry about for a couple of days. I have no idea what to do with myself now.

I had star testing last week, and omg they are almost an insult to our intelligence! omg they are so easy. Star testing week is actually pretty nice because you get to have short classes and just take these easy tests that you totally don't have to stress over.

You should make icons, that's what I've been doing. I have had almost no homework and nothing to study for because of star testing and also things are just getting back to normal now because of AP tests.

Yeah, they seriously are an insult to our intelligence. I mean, they give us like 90 min for a section that takes like 30. But they are nice, because of getting out early and having short classes and having a bunch of free time between sections to read or do whatever. It is nice to have a little break from school.

Ah, yeah, I should definitely make icons. I was wanting to last night but didn't have enough time.

That sounds awesome. I mean, tests are never fun, but if they're easy and meaningless and you get short days because of them, then woohoo!

It is awesome. People at my school tend to complain about them, but I don't get the big deal. It takes no effort to take the tests and it doesn't matter how well we do, and they give us like 90 min for a section that really only takes like 30, so then we have 60 min just to read or listen to music or do whatever. It's really nice.

Thank you! :) This journal actually started out as an icon journal and I used blogger.com for my real life and fandom stuff, but then I got tired of having the two journals separate, so I started posting everything here. It's just a lot easier for me to have everything in the same place. Plus, I've been making icons pretty sporadically for awhile now, so I only make icon posts once every like 2 to 3 months. So there really isn't any need for me to make an icon journal.
