l;jafd I love this show so much! :D
Ok, so everything Jim and Jim/Pam related was entirely excellent. Jim's reaction to hearing Pam was on a date, and him wanting to call someone after discovering Dwight's "hooker" and nearly saying Pam, and of course Jim talking to Michael about putting it all out there to Pam. I like that it was clarified that Jim did eventually hear about Pam calling off the wedding, and I think this kind of explains why they're not together right now. Pam probably was probably hesitant about calling Jim and wasn't entirely sure what she wanted still, and when Jim never made any effort to contact her even though she knew he'd probably find out about the cancelled wedding, she probably figured she had missed her chance. And obviously Jim laid everything out there twice and she still shot him down, and then she didn't even tell him about cancelling the wedding, so he probably figured that she just didn't have feelings for him like he thought, and also he had given it enough shots and it was her turn now.
Toby's like... crush on Pam was just really sad. I kind of have mixed feelings about this, because I read spoilers for The Office and saw that someone would have a crush on Pam, and I'm happy it's like not... Ryan or someone, but at the same time it's just kind of pathetic, you know? I was kind of hoping it would be like... Ed Helms's character or Creed or someone that would be played for laughs. But it's just kind of sad. And I love Toby so much, he's my favorite secondary character, and I want him to be happy, but I also obviously totally adore Jim/Pam, so there's no way I want him to be with Pam over Jim. sigh.
I'm ok with Pam going out on a date. I'm pretty sure Kelly probably wrestled her into it, I seriously doubt she was like "Hey, Kelly, got any cute friends you want to hook me up with?" Kelly was probably like "OMG Pam now that you're single there's this totally cute guy I know who you would be so perfect with, you totally have to go out with him" and so on until she couldn't take it anymore and had to say yes. And I do think it's good that she dates some other people and sees that it's not just that Jim would be better for her than Roy, but that Jim would be the best for her. And I also feel weird about her having dated Roy for like what, 9-10 years and having been engaged to him for 3 and nearly getting married to him, and then just jumping to Jim immediately. I feel like if she had done that, then she could still be unsure of herself and he might be unsure and... I just think she needs to try dating now, casually, and then eventually decide she's ready to start a relationship with Jim.
Ryan and Kelly on the date was hilarious. I'm so glad they're still dating (although I suppose I don't totally understand why Ryan is still with her). I loved her needling him about like... what, ketchup? and how he loves ketchup and how he should have more and he just looked miserable.
The beginning with Michael wanting to adopt a child and him not wanting to wait 8 months because he's not sure if he would even want a child in 8 months was totally hilarious. Oh, Michael. And him suggesting Jim talk to Roy about getting rejected by Pam! hee!
I love Jim and Michael's quasi-friendship, like in The Dundies and E-mail Surveillance and Booze Cruise and then tonight with the coming over to his "party" and confessing about Pam and telling him he was a great boss. Jim's such an amazing guy.
Yeah, I guess that's it. I don't think this week was as funny as the last episode, but it was still amazing. This show is so good. I just wish we could get more than 20 minutes of it a week!
Ah, I always forget how much I like this show until I'm watching it.
I can't believe they killed off John! I kind of thought they might near the end of the episode, but then I was like "No way, they'll totally want to keep him around for future episodes and stuff." And I also thought I had read something about him being a regular somewhere (...or maybe it was that he was a regular on another show? That would make more sense). But then they killed him!
This episode was just so good. I loved all the scenes between the brothers and between Sam and John and then Dean and John. Just, yeah. It rocked.
Ok, I guess I didn't really have much to say. But I really love this show, and I'm glad it's back.
