I spent the past two days reading all four books of Shadow of the Templar. Ugh so good. I was not expecting to get hooked like I did, but those books are so addicting. Now I want to buy the actual physical copies of the books (although the fourth isn't out yet). Jeremy Archer is one of my favorite characters ever right now. But even without him, the books are really great. I wasn't expecting to care much about anyone but Simon and Jeremy, but I ended up falling in love with Simon's entire team. Yes, anyways. Very good. Of course, now I'm sad I'm done with them because I want more!

I finally got my grades yesterday, and I got straight As. I feel like I should be more excited about this. I guess it's just because this semester, I was kind of expecting straight As. It says way more about the classes I chose to take than my study habits, though. God, my study habits this semester were total crap. I really need to work on this next semester, because my classes should be harder. It was nice having a semester where I really didn't have to work that hard, save for a couple nights (and mostly then only because I procrastinated ridiculous amounts). And one where I didn't have to write any real papers.

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve already. It totally doesn't feel like it. Mostly because I'm not actually going to do anything different tonight. My family is really small, so we don't do anything Christmas Eve. My aunt will come over tomorrow afternoon, but that's it. My parents are going to a party tonight, though, so I'm probably just going to sit at home and maybe watch some movies or read a book or something. Anyways, Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! Hope you have a wonderful holiday! :D

lksjdf I got my final grades for this past semester, and somehow I got three As and an A- in Film Analysis. I have no idea how this happened. I mean, I'm thrilled, but really, really surprised. I really can't believe I got an A in Novel. Moreso just because I struggled most with English in high school in terms of grades than any other subject. And apparently my final paper in Film Analysis didn't suck too much, because my grade was a high B+ before that and the final in-class essay.

Anyways, I totally meant to post more this past week, but then... didn't. Tuesday and Friday I did stuff with friends, but I don't really have any excuse for the other days. Saturday and Sunday I may have spent alternating between watching old episodes of Prison Break (I finished up season 3 and then watched a couple from season 1 and then season 2 from Chicago to the finale) and the So You Think You Can Dance marathon that was on MTV. Um. Oops? And now I'm kind of excited for SYTYCD to come back this Thursday which is ridiculous because I never get addicted to reality shows, but... now I kind of am? This might wear off. We'll see. And then today I went to the beach with Emma and went boogie boarding and failed and then went to the pool for a little.

And now I need to start looking for a job. ugh. I don't mind the actual having a job and doing stuff and all, but I really don't want to go through the whole process of getting a job. bah. I don't know how likely it is that I'm going to make much of an effort this week, either, since I might be going to Disneyland with friends on Wednesday or Thursday. It's very likely that I will put it off another week. ugh.

I bought The Hush Sound's "Goodbye Blues" on a whim since they're playing Honda Civic Tour and I remember hearing some music of theirs before and kind of liking it and OMG LOVE. I am enjoying this CD SO MUCH. Now I'm looking forward to Honda Civic Tour even more than I was before (and I was looking forward to it before an insane amount as it is).

Ugh, spring break is close to being over. Do not want. I am really dreading the second half of this semester. I have 3 papers (10 pp, 8 pp, and 4 pp), a major rewrite of a paper (the rewrite is worth 15% of my grade, which is actually more than the paper itself was worth), 5 tests, 1 in-class essay, and a short, abstract film. Plus, when I go back, I get to get the grades back from the tests I took right before break! Oh, fun. Speaking of school stuff, midterm grades are in, and so far I have two As, an A-, and a B+. Pretty happy with those grades, but I feel like the A- and the B+ are going to drop by the end of the semester. Oh well.

I have just a few comments on this week's episode of Torchwood. Torchwood 2.11 )

Ah, I finally got my grades for last semester (even though they were due like 2 weeks ago and should've been up way sooner), and I got straight As! Pretty awesome. I'm very happy about that. Not expecting it to continue next semester, though.

I officially got to 100 movies and 30 books in 2007. Lists of them under the cuts. The movies have small reactions/reviews of them and a rating out of 10, and the books just have a rating out of 5. There are major spoilers for some of the movies, but it would be kind of ridiculous to list all 100 of them outside the cut. The names are bolded, so I think it should be easy enough to scroll past movies you haven't seen/don't want to be spoiled for.

I think I might try for 150 movies this year. I'm not sure how possible that will be, but we'll see, I guess.

Hope everyone's Christmas went well. I mostly got books and a few DVDs for Christmas. The most awesome present I got was a new digital camera. My old digital camera is really beat up and pretty crappy, so I'm happy to have a new camera. Now I just need to go somewhere where I can actually use it, since I've basically just been home reading and watching DVDs I got for Christmas the past week.

I started watching Joan of Arcadia. I'm only up to episode 12 of the first season, but I totally love it. I'll probably do a post with more thoughts about it when I finish both seasons (which might not be for awhile, because I think I want to save the rest for when all the new episodes of shows run out because of the writers' strike).

Also, I saw Sweeney Todd and Juno in the past week. Sweeney Todd was very good, but I absolutely adored Juno. Just, yeah. I've been wanting to see it since I first heard about it probably nearly a year ago, so I tried to lower my expectations because I was afraid having too high expectations for it would diminish how much I liked it, but yeah. I really loved it. And now I want to see it again.

I made 100 movies a few days ago! Last year I only got to 67, I think. That's pretty crazy. I didn't think I'd actually make it, especially with days to spare. I actually probably could have reached 100 sooner since I was on like 96 from early December, but finals and papers got in the way. I'll post a list with mini-reviews on January 1st, probably (provided I remember). I also reached 30 books this year. My goal was 50, but that's still pretty good, especially since I didn't have an English class this past semester, and it's only 3 short of the number I read last year, when I did have English classes both semesters. So, yeah.

Um, what else? I still don't have final grades for last semester yet, which sucks, since they were due several days ago and they should have been posted by now. Oh well. My two finals both went pretty well, but my astronomy grade was kind of borderline, so we'll see. Hopefully they'll be up soon.

Final semester 1 grades: AP Euro, A- (!! all the studying paid off!); HChem, A-; HPre-Calc, A-; French 4, A-; HEnglish 3, B+; Wind Ensemble, A (...I'm hoping, at least. It'd be sad to get a B in Wind Ensemble). Woohoo! I am happy. :)

I think I fail at returning to LJ, and I don't know that I'm going to today (...other than this post, of course), either. I'll probably be back this weekend, because otherwise I'll have absolutely nothing to do and go bored out of my mind.

Today is a Veronica Mars day! Yay! :D
