Jan. 31st, 2008 12:27 pmI am so bad at updating this. gah. I mean to, and then... I don't.
Anyways, I've been back at school since Sunday night and have had all my classes. All the professors are really awesome, and I don't have a final in a single class, which is awesome. I also don't have to write any real research papers. I mean, I have papers (three formal ones in English, one 10-page one in Film Analysis, one kind of informal 5-page one in my abnormal psych class), but none of them require research, which I like. I mean, I actually like doing research more than writing the actual papers, but last semester I spent twice as long researching for the various papers I wrote than actually writing the papers, so at least they won't take as long to write. And the longest is the 10 page paper, and then after that it's 8, 6, 5, and 4 pages, and 5 pages is like nothing. So that's good. On the downside, I have a test a week from today in my Film Studies class on all this theory stuff we're doing which is highly confusing and I'm not looking forward to that. At least once that's over, we can start actually watching and analyzing movies.
We're watching the 1930something version of Reefer Madness, and oh god, it's hilarious. My favorite part is this scene where this guy who's trying to make everyone aware of the hazards of marijuana talks about this one case where this girl started doing marijuana and then killed her entire family with an axe. Everyone in the class burst out laughing at that. A very close second is where they say that marijuana is a more dangerous drug than heroin or cocaine (especially since we read a chapter from our textbook for the class which says that more people die as a result from cocaine use than any other drug). Oh god, it's awesome. We only watched half of it yesterday, so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest Friday or Monday.
Um, what else. I've been waiting for the next episode of Torchwood that aired last night forever (or at least since I found about this one thing that happens in it, which you can probably guess if you've seen the episode and know me, like, at all), and I have it, ready to be watched, but I have class in 25 minutes. gah. I wish I had gotten back fro lunch sooner, but lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays takes forever if I go right after class, because it seems like everyone has class from 10:10-11:40 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Plus, this is my longest class, too; it's 2 1/2 hours long, so I won't be able to watch it until after 3:30. ugh. At least the only work I have to do for tomorrow is 5 pages for my abnormal psych class, which will take no time at all, so I won't feel guilty for watching it the second I come back from class.
