I don't have much to say, but I felt like I should say something.
This was so reminiscent of the season 1 episode where Richard collapses. (I forget, did he have a heart attack then, too? Or was it something else? I need to watch the season 1 DVDs Jackie and Andrew got me for my birthday, because I've forgotten so much about season 1.) And it was really nice contrasting how helpful and supportive Luke was then and how helpful and supportive he is now, even after everything that's happened between them.
I kind of wish Christopher was more of an ass in the episode, though. I think orginally he was supposed to be, but they toned it down. The thing is, I can't really fault him for not being there if he wasn't checking his messages. Yes, Lorelai was alone and needed him, but it's not like he was psychic and knew what had happened. (Oh, god, am I really defending Christopher? Something's wrong with me.)
He was an ass at the end, though, when he finally came and made snotty comments to Luke when hello, not the time for that. Your wife's father had a heart attack and maybe you should focus more on making sure she's ok and then later when everything's better talk to her about Luke. Also, he was the only one of the episode not to immediately ask Lorelai/Rory what he could do. Everyone else (Luke, Logan, Sookie, Babette) kept asking what they could do and how they could help, and Christopher just stood around and acted like a jerk. So, ok, he was an ass, but I wish more had been made out of that than him not being there, because I found that more forgivable.
I'm looking forward to next week, though. And overall I really did like this episode. The past few episodes have been good.
Yeah, so who totally called that Veronica wasn't pregnant, didn't even think she was pregnant, it was just her pretending to be for a case last week after that promo? (...yeah, ok, I bet pretty much everyone else also called that after seeing the promo, but whatever, I'm going to be proud about it anyways.) But god, that promo for this episode was so shitty, and this episode was so freaking good.
I like the way that the Madison/Logan thing played out. I can understand why Logan did it, and I can understand why Veronica's so upset. And I know it's not fair for Veronica to be so mad at Logan for sleeping with Madison because of what she said, how Madison gave her GHB (because even if Logan knew that, because I'm not sure Veronica ever told him that, it's not like Madison knew what she was doing) and wrote what she did on her car, but at the same time I can understand Veronica hating Madison so much and just being sickened at the thought of her and Logan together. It's not rational or based on reason, it's just... gut feeling, and you can't really change that, no matter how much you try to think about things logically. And Veronica clearly has trust issues, and something like that is just enough to break her trust. So I find it totally realistic on both ends and feel really bad for both of them. And whatever, they're written better apart when there's just loads of sexual tension between them and every episode you want them to get together and they're so close but don't. As long as they get together in the series finale, I'll be happy, I think.
The mystery of the week was pretty good, but I totally called it was the roommate from the beginning. Don't really know why, it just seemed like it had to be her.
While overall I really liked the episode, where the hell is Wallace and Mac and her new guy? We only got like 2 episodes of Mac in the first mystery arc. Don't tell me the same is going to be true of the second.
Lastly, finally a promo that doesn't focus on Veronica/Logan drama. It wasn't as good as the promo for Spit and Eggs, but it's nice to see something that's a little more representative of what the show's about.
