I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. Being home was really nice. I'm not enjoying being back here very much. All of a sudden the papers I had due two months away are now due a week from Thursday, a week from Friday, and two weeks from today, in addition to three presentations (oh god I hate presentations. I'm so bad at them), two tests, and two finals. sigh. The next three weeks are not going to be the slightest bit of fun.
Registered for classes today!
ENGL 137 Novel TR 10:10-11:40
HMCS 128 Film Analysis/Visual Culture TR 1:00-3:30
PSYC 182 Drugs and Society MWF 10:50-11:50
PSYC 252 Distress, Dysfunction, and Disorder: Perspectives on the DSM MWF 9:40-10:40
I am ridiculously looking forward to Distress, Dysfunction, and Disorder. I'm an undeclared major and have about a billion ideas of what I want to do after college, but one of the top ideas is going into clinical psychology. Plus, the professor is the same one I have for psychology now, and she's totally awesome.
The others, I'm kind of unsure about. It took me a really long time to decide on these. I was really close to taking Multivariable Calculus insetad of Drugs and Society since I felt like I should balance the schedule with a math/hard science class, but the professor is supposedly awful, so I think I'll just wait until next year and hope someone better is teaching it. Drugs and Society is really interesting, but I was unsure of taking it since I'm already takinga psych class next semester. But the professor is supposedly awesome, and I don't know. It's interesting. Plus, it doesn't seem too intense. I really want to take some sort of basic English class since I loved English in high school, but I'm still nervous about writing English papers. Oh well. The professor is supposedly good. With the Film Analysis class, part of me is dying to take it, and the other part is scared. I think it'd be ok except I already know that we have to make a short, abstract video as a final project in the class, and... I want to analyze and watch films, not make them, and I've always hated all those film projects I had to do in middle school/high school. Plus, it's an hour longer than classes on Tuesdays/Thursdays usually are, so it's kind of eating up more of my time. I don't know. I was close to not taking it, but whatever. I'll hate myself in the spring when I'm having to come up with an idea for the video and shoot it and whatever, but for now I don't have to worry.
So yeah. Next semester could be either very good or very bad. Hopefully it'll go well.
Ok, I probably should start doing some sort of work now, considering all the stuff that's coming up.
