ugh. So, Cobra Starship and The Academy Is... are on Warped this summer, so I totally have to go, because I love them both (The Academy Is... I've been listening to since FOREVER. And by that, I mean, like... 9th grade, so 4 years. But still. Longer than Panic!), but... I'm debating which date: Pomona or Ventura. Ventura is twice as far, basically (it's 2 hours, maybe more with traffic, while Pomona is more like 45 minutes to an hour), but Pomona is on a Friday and Ventura is on a Sunday, and I'm planning on getting a job over the summer, and my hope is to get a temp job, but if I do, I'd probably have to work on a Friday morning. Of course, I might not get a temp job at all, and instead get something where I'd have to work on a Sunday and not a Friday, but I'm not going to know until late May and tickets go on sale way before that and I HAVE to go because I've never seen either of them and I really want to. (Plus, I like Against Me! and Mayday Parade. I also absolutely love Jack's Mannequin, and I hate that they're not playing any dates near me.)

There is an L.A. date at the end of the tour, 8/17, and that is a Sunday, but I'm not sure when I'm leaving for school. Classes start the 27th, but if we drive up, I don't know when we'll leave. There's also one in San Diego on the 14th, which is farther than L.A., but closer than Ventura, and it's on a Thursday, but if it's that close to when I leave, I probably won't be working anymore. UGH I hate having to decide. At least tickets won't go on sale for a little while and I can debate about it more.

Is it weird that for the Academy Awards, the category that there's a nominee that absolutely has to win or I will be devastated is Best Original Song? Seriously, if Falling Slowly doesn't win, I don't know what I'll do. That song made me want to watch Once, and it's just so beautiful. It has such relevance to the movie and the plot, and I just love it. Plus, I find it awesome that Glen Hansard and Market Irglova wrote it.

Anyways, I'm so ridiculously excited for the Academy Awards this year. They're actually the reason I most wanted the strike to be over soon, since I had already resigned myself to the fact that this TV season was over. But Jon Stewart is hosting, Falling Slowly will be performed, and I've seen 4 out of the 5 nominated movies for best picture. Do you know how often that happens for me? NEVER. Not even AFTER the awards. I think the most I've seen for any one year is 4 (for 2005), but 2 of them I didn't see until after the awards. Same for last year, I saw 3, but only 2 before the awards. And I'm planning on seeing Michael Clayton this weekend, so if that happens, then I'll have seen all 5 before the actual awards! I haven't even seen 5 of any year after the awards! And I love awards shows, so this just makes it way more fun that I've actually seen the movies.
