So Friday was Warped and it was awesome. I met The Academy Is in one of those signing things and also ran into Michael Guy Chislett (of the aforementioned band) and got a picture with him and a hug. I will do a more in-depth post later about it for anyone who cares with pictures, but I haven't had time to upload them and write anything up. Saturday morning I had a staff meeting at 9 AM which sucked because I was ridiculously exhausted from the concert, and then I had to work from 3-9. I actually didn't do any cleaning this time (except for a little around concessions) which was awesome. I did concessions and box office at the very end of the night. And I saw Daniel Jenkins! That was fun. But I didn't have time to talk to him because he came during a rush, and also, we're not supposed to have friends come visit during our shifts.

I've also spent the past couple days, when I haven't been at concerts and work, watching Greek. I'm so addicted to this show, it's ridiculous. I can't believe that it's actually good! Cappie is my absolute favorite. I'll write a longer post about the show probably when I've finished it (I'm on episode like... 15 or 16?) later, but I thought I'd mention that.

Anyways, today I'm working from 10 AM to 6 PM which sucks because I feel like I've gotten no sleep the past few days, which isn't entirely true, but yeah. The good news, though, is that after that, I don't work again until Thursday! Three whole days off! Win! Unfortunately on Thursday I'm working from 3-11 which means closing which supposedly sucks, but oh well. I will enjoy my days off, at least. And I should be getting paid on Friday! Yay!

So I officially have tickets to Warped Tour at Pomona on June 20th! That's only 6 days after seeing Panic/MCS in Anaheim. That'll be a fun week.

Finally caught up on TV stuff. (Well, I only had two hours of TV to catch up on.) I don't really have anything to say about Torchwood or Skins other than Skins was amazing (and I'm pretty sure Chris is my favorite character of the show, which I always forget when it's not his episode because he's really not very present in any other episodes, unlike a lot of the other characters, but then it's his episode and I reminded about how awesome he is) and Torchwood was just ok.

Lost 4.07 )

I'm still kind of not over the fact that Lost is actually been really good this season. It's like with The O.C. where it had a great first season, the second and third seasons pretty much sucked (The O.C.'s moreso than Lost's, though), and then the fourth season is all of a sudden good again.

The Return of Jezebel James 1.01-1.02 )

Ok I have a headache because my sleep schedule is all screwed up from the time difference (I feel like 2 hours shouldn't make that much of a difference, but it does) so I'm going to go take a nap or something.

ugh. Concert Dilemma! )

Is it weird that for the Academy Awards, the category that there's a nominee that absolutely has to win or I will be devastated is Best Original Song? Seriously, if Falling Slowly doesn't win, I don't know what I'll do. That song made me want to watch Once, and it's just so beautiful. It has such relevance to the movie and the plot, and I just love it. Plus, I find it awesome that Glen Hansard and Market Irglova wrote it.

Anyways, I'm so ridiculously excited for the Academy Awards this year. They're actually the reason I most wanted the strike to be over soon, since I had already resigned myself to the fact that this TV season was over. But Jon Stewart is hosting, Falling Slowly will be performed, and I've seen 4 out of the 5 nominated movies for best picture. Do you know how often that happens for me? NEVER. Not even AFTER the awards. I think the most I've seen for any one year is 4 (for 2005), but 2 of them I didn't see until after the awards. Same for last year, I saw 3, but only 2 before the awards. And I'm planning on seeing Michael Clayton this weekend, so if that happens, then I'll have seen all 5 before the actual awards! I haven't even seen 5 of any year after the awards! And I love awards shows, so this just makes it way more fun that I've actually seen the movies.

So yesterday was Warped Tour. It was pretty good. I kind of wish it had been like a month earlier, when I really wanted to go to a concert, or that I had really wanted to go to a concert like a month later, because I think I just wasn't in the right mood to go. I saw The Matches, Yellowcard, part of New Found Glory's set (I really wanted to see Amber Pacific which was at the same time, but I could find the right stage because it was hidden kind of where the exit was so you had to start like you were leaving the place before you could get to it so I just gave up before finding it and saw NFG), Meg & Dia, The Spill Canvas (they were the band I was most excited to see and looking forward to seeing and they were really, really awesome), and Bad Religion. And I also saw a few other bands randomly, but I don't know any of their names. Anyways, it was mostly fun and I'm glad I went. I think right now I'm just more in the mood for smaller concerts. I really wish I could go to the Motion City Soundtrack concert in Anaheim that's in a few weeks but I have no one to go with (and I don't even know if there are tickets left). Oh well. Some other time.

I spent Thursday afternoon watching 30 Rock. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision because I hadn't been planning on watching it, but I saw a couple posts on my flist recommending it and I wanted something I didn't have to wait to watch (and they stream all the episodes on nbc.com for free) and something I could finish quickly because I didn't want to start up The West Wing again since I'd have Warped the next day and I thought I might be preoccupied thinking about that and not focus on the bands and such because I can only obsess over one thing at a time and yeah. So anyways. Some thoughts on 30 Rock )

So yeah, anyways, I'll probably be watching 30 Rock next season, especially since they moved it into The Office's timeslot and that kind of messes with my whole system of watching my Thursday night shows, and it makes it a lot easier if I watch it (unless I decide to stop watching My Name Is Earl, but I think I want to keep watching that for a little while).

Not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of today. I said I was going to start watching The West Wing again, but I think I might leave that for tomorrow and instead wait for Doctor Who to finish downloading and... I don't know. Watch a couple movies I've been meaning to watch for a few weeks that I haven't yet? Read a book? We'll see, I guess.

I got Orientation information in the mail Wednesday! So excited. :D And now all I can think about during school is planning my schedule and finding all these classes and such and man, I'm so tired of school. I don't have much longer left, though. Three weeks from today is my last senior final, and then I have a few days before graduation but those don't really count. I'm looking forward to these last weeks being over. All my teachers are piling on projects and tests and labs and such and wtf APs are over! We're supposed to be lounging about watching movies! sigh.

I decided to go to Warped Tour this summer. It was kind of random and sudden and such because Annie had been talking about going and I was just like "...huh. I really don't feel like going" but then at this jazz band thing I did last weekend a band was playing beforehand and it just reminded me of all the concerts I've been too and how long it's been since I went to a concert (Oct. 31 of my junior year! Over 1 1/2 years!) and I just got the urge to so I bought a ticket and now I'm going. I'm really looking forward to it. Should be awesome.

This week has been pretty fun. Tuesday was Senior Ditch Day Activity Day so we went to Knotts which actually ended up being a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Wednesday we just had a senior meeting in the morning which was the most pointless thing ever. This guy from Monster.com came to talk to us but it was all very obvious and boring stuff and no one was paying attention and he talked for like an hour. And by then everyone was bored as hell and just wanted to leave so they ignored all the actually important info they gave us about commencement and such. They should've just handed us a packet with the info. The rest was pointless.

Yeah, anyways. I have nothing really to do now, so I think I'm going to stare at my course catalogue for a few more hours. I am still planning on doing a "Favorite Gilmore Girls Moments" post (and I'm thinking I'll do one for Veronica Mars, too. I think I'm going to start a tradition for myself where I always make favorite moments picspams for when shows I like end. Unless they're only like 4 episodes like the first season of Wonderfalls (I'M STILL MAD AT YOU, FOX, FOR THAT!) in which case... that wouldn't really work) but... I'm so excited about college and all these courses that I can't stop thinking about them. It's so fun to plan out possible schedules. Except when you think you have one perfectly planned and then it turns out you didn't account for an extra lab-type class that's right during a class you really wanted to take. (Next semester I'm totally taking the class on dinosaurs, damnit!)

Man, I'm so sore today. Pretty sunburned, too. But the pain is totally worth the experience.

Pictures from Warped Tour! )

Yeah, the pictures came out kind of crappy. Oh well. The pictures aren't really that important to me, being there was far cooler.

Also, got my report card yesterday. I ended up getting a B in English, which isn't surprising, but a bit disappointing. I had hoped that some miracle had occurred and I had actually done incredibly well on my final essay and on the final test, but I guess not. Oh well. It's not the end of the world, as I did get A's in the rest of my classes, and A.P. US History is an extra point class, so I still have a 4.0 GPA. But still, a bit disappointing.

I feel like redoing my walls. I have a bunch of magazine clippings of bands I like (almost all from Alternative Press) on my walls. Last time I completely redid them was February, and I have a lot more things to put up. Hm. Perhaps I'll start that later today.

Yeah. I fucking love Warped Tour.

Massive Warped Tour post )

Yeah. I go to a good number of concerts, but Warped Tour is my favorite every year. Can't wait until next year already. :D

Edit: Motion City Soundtrack will indeed be a part of this Fall's Nintendo Fusion tour featuring Fall Out Boy... Joining us as well on the bill will be our buddies in The Starting Line, plus Boys Night Out and Panic At The Disco.

[dies] Yeah. I must get tickets to this. God, I hope there'll be a show near me [i.e. closer than L.A.] and that it's on a Saturday since that's the best day for concerts, provided that I don't have a field show (for marching band) that die. But yeah. Must go to that show.

Man, Motion City Soundtrack is playing most of Warped Tour, but they're not playing the date I'm going to. I thought they were playing the whole tour, but... they're playing some of the dates surrounding the one I'm going to, just... not the one I'm going to. That's really disappointing, since they were one of the bands I was looking forward to seeing the most. I mean, I have seen them before so it's not the end of the world, but it's still disappointing. Oh well. There are still plenty of other bands that I love going to this date, it'll still be loads of fun. I'm getting pissed off, though, because before I got tickets, Tiffany told me that Tina wanted to go, so I got four total tickets (the fourth being for Annie). But Tina hasn't even asked her parents yet and it's tomorrow and... yeah, I kind of need to know. I mean, I know Lulu would like to go (though probably couldn't, but wouldn't there be a better chance of being able to go if she could ask earlier) and if Tina can't I need to find someone to take it, or else I'll have to end up paying for it myself, which really isn't fair at all. If I can't find someone else to go, I'm making her pay for it, because it's not fair that my mom or I have to pay for it just because she wanted a ticket and ended up not being able to go.

blah. Anyways. Haven't done much today. I have SAT class again today, which will surely be thrilling. I'm just looking forward to tomorrow. It should be awesome, even if Motion City Soundtrack isn't playing and even if Tina doesn't tell me until the last minute that she can't go.

Oh, but I found out this morning that Spain has also legalized gay marriage! That's awesome. :D
