lksajfd can someone PLEASE explain to me when exactly Jack and Gwen had this past relationship where she loved him but he was afraid to tell her he loved her and there were loads of episodes where they were having sex and she wanted more or not even that, but loads of episodes where either of them actually acted like they had anything more than platonic feelings for each other? I am so SICK of this characterization for both of them! And it's not just because I ship Jack/Ianto wholeheartedly and I haven't liked Gwen/Jack from the first episode. I would be so less bothered by this if it MADE ANY SENSE. Or resembled any plots that have actually occurred on the show!

Seriously, I feel like all the writers sat down and were like "So, Gwen was cheating on Rhys with someone last season. Who was it again? It must have been Jack! And why didn't they work out? Well, Gwen probably wanted more and Jack wasn't willing to say that he loves her or commit to her since he's pansexual and all. So this season, once Jack comes back, we should have them both be all angsty because Gwen agreed to marry Rhys!" It's like they started on this plot point of something that didn't happen at all last year, and then built it up from there. I mean, did the writers even watch last season? Or pay attention to what the hell they were writing? Because if they're going to go this route, as much as I dislike it, the least they could do is have it make some sort of sense!

Anyways. Need to study now, but please request photos for the photo meme! So far only one person has, and that doesn't make for much of a picture post.

I don't get Jack/Gwen either. In s1 they gave me a brother-sister vibe (except for that whole feel eachother up gun foreplay) and now I'm just WTFing all over.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I feel like I missed some episodes where something major happened between them, because really, the only hints towards them last season were in the first two episodes, and then after that, there was nothing.

I couldn't agree more with what you said on Jack/Gwen. It just didn't make any sense at all!!! And it made me wonder whether I had been so dense that I hadn't seen it last year/didn't want to see it. I do hope that it's FINALLY OVER now Gwen is married and all. *crosses fingers*

Oh god, it better be over now that Gwen is married. It was bad enough when she was all "Well I have to marry Rhys because who else will marry me?" but it'll be even worse if she's actually MARRIED to him and still implying how much she loves Jack and would be with him in a second if he told her he loved her. I really just feel awful for Rhys in all of this, because he loves her so much and he's been so supportive of everything (I mean, how many other people would be able to handle knowing about Torchwood?) and she totally just treats him terribly.

I agree. I just saw the episode and that entire scene where Gwen was talking to "Jack" just threw me for a loop. Though, I've sorta gotten from Gwen that she has feelings for Jack but never the other way around... well past Jack's flirtatious nature that is.

Yeah, I can buy that Gwen has feelings for Jack (I did get a small impression of that from the first two episodes of the first season, maybe a little from the finale, too), but never anything from Jack, other than Jack's flirtation with everyone, as you said. The thing I don't get at all is how she refers to it, like when she says she's marrying Rhys because no one else will have her, implying that she really means Jack. It's like she offered herself to him at one point and he refused, but I don't remember anything near that happening. If I was watching this season without seeing the first season, I would think that they had had some sort of relationship in the first season.
