Is it weird that the thing I probably hate Palin for most right now is that she threatened to fire a librarian because the librarian wouldn't agree to ban books that Palin said some of her supporters felt there were "innappropriate words" or something in? But, I mean, I can see where people disagree about abortion (even if I don't agree with it) and other issues, but... who supports banning books in this day and age? That's just flat-out wrong. I wish that would get more attention in the media.

It kind of scares me that it felt really cold today since the temperatures went down to the low to mid 60s for most of the day. That should not be cold. In April that would have been like boiling. I don't want to have to get acclimated to the weather again.

I had my first German lab yesterday, and I think it might be my favorite class this semester. I mean, I already like German. But then there's also the fact that the lab is only me and this one other girl who's a first year who I had already talked to a bit last week and she's very nice, so that's nice. But the main (100% shallow) reason is that the guy who runs the lab is this 20-something year old (I think he's in grad school) who was born in Germany and has a slight German and slight British accent and he's very tall and very attractive and... yeah. I'm incredibly shallow, ok? And I kind of have a thing for accents. But whatever, it's fun anyways. Especially since there are no tests or anything in the lab, and we do have homework for it, but it's not graded and basically we just talk and answer questions and he helps with pronunciation and everything. It helps to make up for the fact that I wanted to have the lab on Monday and I got forced into taking the Tuesday afternoon lab.

I watched the first half of 90210 last night and thought it was pretty awful. I'm going to watch the second half later, I just stopped because I wanted to watch Greek and I realized that I could wait to find out if Ethan hated Annie forever for telling her brother that he was cheating on his girlfriend. Or whatever. At this point I don't think I'll keep watching once the other shows start coming back (my Tuesdays are actually the second-most packed night of TV of the week, I think, which is surprising. I would've thought it would be Thursdays. Although I probably will drop 1-2 other shows from Tuesdays in addition to this, so that might help), but we'll see. I also wasn't going to keep watching Gossip Girl and almost didn't finish the first episode, but now I'm totally in love with it.

I got the posters I ordered today so I'm going to put them up and maybe rearrange my furniture and finish organizing things and once that's all done I'll post some pictures of my room.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. Books aren't important at all! And obviously if one person thinks that language in a book is inappropriate and doesn't want to read it, then obviously that person should impose their views on everyone else so no one else can read that book either!

I will be sure to do that! I'm having issues figuring out where to put everything, though, so far. And I'm still planning on buying more posters hopefully, since there should be a poster sale at my school in a few weeks.

I brought up this issue with my mother (a Republican to the core s- so that was my bad to bring up anything, lol) and then she decided to attack my decision of not going to Church anymore. Lovely, eh? She was all "You worry me because of that choice and now these things you are thinking." Oh, you mean things that don't match what you think? How dare I have my own opinions! I think I'm a pretty decent person. At least I don't lock my doors when I see a black or homeless person walking by. At least I don't claim rich people in fancy cars get what is coming to them via car wrecks. besides, the whole Church thing? I stopped going because it made me depressed. And I didn't like knowing I'd get depressed every weekend. I knew they wouldn't accept that, so I started going elsewhere - somehow they caught on mooooonths later and guess what they did to find out? Ask me? Nah. They went out to the Church and looked for the car. Can't believe they though that was an appropriate thing to do - especially as people of FAITH. And this is another reason why I am reflecting on who I am and my religion... because I fear turning into them. (My mom and Aunt.)

Ack, sorry. Didn't mean to rant. heh :\

Oh neat!! I miss school sale stuff. I need to go pick out posters for my room. I just hate how expensive they are. Pieces of paper/etc. that go up on your wall and get no actual use. lol

Heh, no, it's totally fine with me if you want to rant. I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. My parents aren't religious and have never made me go to church (thankfully), but they do believe in some sort of higher power and possibly some other religious stuff (I've never really discussed it with them), and I'm an atheist which I don't really want to bring up with them. I don't really know how they'd react, and it wouldn't be that extreme, but I'm still worried about what they'd think. So I just avoid the issue entirely.

I'm really lucky that both my parents are Democrats though. I think my dad is still a little skeptical of Obama (he voted for Hilary in the primary. Then again, so did my mom and I. But we came around to Obama much sooner, I think), but there's no way in hell he'd ever vote for the Republicans. He's just not quite as enthusiastic about Obama and my mother and I are. I just really don't understand how anyone could go for the Republicans after the last 8 years. It was bad enough that Bush was re-elected, but to go for the Republican party a third time and expect a different result is just foolish. Unless, I guess, you actually think the country has been going in the right direction the past 8 years.

Oh, I totally know what you mean. I really wanted to decorate my room when I knew I was going to get a single, but I don't have many posters (well, I have a bunch of posters from when I was like 13 and in love with these few bands, but I'm not anymore, so I don't really want to plaster my walls with them) and I didn't really want to spend hundreds of dollars trying to decorate my room. When I found the sale at allposters.com (posters from $4.98!), I was so excited. That sale might actually still be going on, but I'm not sure. But yeah, and the poster sale they have at school is usually super cheap, so I'm hoping to get a bunch of stuff there.
