brokenrecordSo I basically spent yesterday between classes running around trying to figure out if it's possible for me to double major in psych and applied math. First I went to my calc professor, but he's been retired and just came back this year, so he didn't really know what was going on in the department, so he took me and introduced me to the department chair. Then I talked to her and it turns out I can take classes at UCI and transfer the credits back here, so yay on that. And she said she'd talk to me in the spring about what classes would be best to take there and such. And then I was asking about if Research in Psych could count for anything, like the pre-req to Multivariate stats since it sounds exactly the same as that class, and she told me I had to go talk to this guy in the stats department. So I went over to his office but he wasn't there, and it turns out he had class basically whenever I was free except for this one hour window. So I went back during that time and was able to talk to him and I can skip the pre-req for Multivariate Stats and just go straight to Multivariate Stats.
So yeah. Yesterday was very long and busy (because I also had to tutor from 6:30-7:30, so basically I was out of my room from 9:00 to 7:30, which wasn't very fun), but I'm glad all that's taken care of. And I guess this means I'm going to try to do the double major. I was looking it over with the chair of the math department, and I could get everything done with a class left to spare if I don't want to take German after next semester. If I do (which... I do), then I need to take two classes at UCI, which is totally doable. And that's not even counting if I do an internship instead of one of my psych classes, in which case I would only have to take one. So yay for that.
Anyways, I was trying to figure out all this stuff before today because I thought I was supposed to register today, but as it turns out, I was looking at the wrong time. Oops? I'm actually supposed to register on Tuesday at 9:45. Oh well. At least this is all figured out now. I know what I'm going to take next semester, but I'll wait to post about it until after I've actually registered so I'll be sure that I'm actually in the classes and such. I'm very happy and excited about my schedule, though, so it better work out!
My only class today was canceled and I have a class canceled tomorrow which is pretty awesome. Mostly because I got a sore throat yesterday and I still have it today and I was feeling pretty sick last night so I was able to go to sleep at 11 (earlier than normal) and sleep in until 10:15. That felt really good. And now I pretty much just have a slight sore throat, but I'm not feeling sick anymore, like I was last night. And it'll be nice tomorrow to have be able to miss a class. Although this is... not inconvenient, but not the best week for this to happen. I just mean, I have absolutely NOTHING this week. I had the math project due Monday, and that's it. And next week I just have a German test, but that's not until Friday. So it would've been more helpful if these classes were canceled during a much busier week. But whatever, I'll take it!
Anyways, so yeah, today is ridiculously nice and relaxed. I have a little bit of German homework and a little math homework to do and I'm supposed to tutor at 9:30, but other than that, I can basically do whatever I want today. I mean, that was basically true Tuesday, too, but I was trying to figure out all this stuff so I wasn't really able to relax. I'm hoping to clean my room today and put up posters and stuff, but we'll see.
