Heh, so I totally wrote up a whole reaction to post to last Sunday's True Blood and then forgot about posting it.
This is the first new episode I've seen since reading the books. I was afraid before reading the books that getting spoiled for everything that happens would ruin my enjoyment of the show. Luckily, that wasn't the case. There's been enough changed that there are still plenty of things I don't know how will turn out. But knowing other stuff definitely enhances my enjoyment of certain stuff. Also, apparently I've forgotten like 80% of what actually happened in the book. At least how the Dallas stuff was all resolved. And then what got Sookie to the orgy party thing and why she asked Eric instead of Bill. I don't know how it's possible that I've forgotten all that seeing as it was only a week ago that I was reading the book and I remember what happened in all the other books (at least the major stuff, like, you know, the climaxes of the books), but for some reason, not with this one. And by the time season 3 rolls around, provided I haven't reread the books, I'll probably have forgotten a lot of what happens in book 3. Anyways, now for my random thoughts:

I got way too giddy over Sookie and Eric finally interacting together without Bill. This is the first time they've talked without Bill being present! It was kind of awesome. "Are you sure you're okay?" Awwwww.

LOL FOREVER AT ERIC ACTING LIKE A HUMAN OMG. HIS ACCENT! HIS POSTURE! OH ERIC. That was pretty amazing.

I LOVE JASON IN THIS EPISODE. He is SO much better in the show than the books. Yeah, he's dumb enough to get taken into a cult, basically, but when his sister's involved, he doesn't fuck around. Everything he did in this episode was amazing: HE SHOT STEVE WITH A PAINTBALL GUN. "KILL THE MOTHERFUCKER!" AND FINALLY SOOKIE&JASON INTERACTION. I love brother/sister stuff, I don't know why. "I was inside your wife [punches]"!!!!!!! JASON HUGGING BILL! "Was it okay for you?" AWESOME. The Jason stuff in this episode is my favorite second only to the Eric stuff. He had all the best lines! And the Eric/Jason scene was hilarious and awesome as well. Eric was so toying with him.

Aw for Jessica. :( I knew things couldn't be all sweetness and cuteness and adorableness forever. Something was bound to get screwed up. I just hope they work it out somehow. I'm so afraid that they're going to get totally messed up and it'll be all pain and heartache.

Bill seriously needs to stop keeping things from Sookie. I had no idea why he wouldn't just explain to Sookie that he was being kept hostage. He has an excuse for not rescuing her! WHY DO YOU INSIST ON KEEPING HER IN THE DARK, BILL? Keeping all these secrets from her just seems so... condescending? Like she's just a little human, she doesn't need to worry her pretty little head over these big vampire issues. They just seem so unequal! (I have done such a 180 on my Bill/Sookie feelings since last November. And even since, like, June.)

Ok, Sookie doesn't bother me on the show as much as she does most people, but WTF SOOKIE when she's going after Lorena at the end? She has the right to be pissed at Lorena, but when Bill's holding her back and she's like "BITCH I'VE ALREADY WON" and all that, just... ARE YOU INSANE? Also, you are REALLY ANNOYING WHEN YOU'RE LIKE THIS. Oh god, I can't wait for Sookie/Eric. Or at the very least for Bill/Sookie to be over. She is so much better without him. I will give her points for being pissed off at Lorena over Bill for not rescuing her, though. She saw through Lorena's crap of "We were just catching up while you were being held hostage." Although she should give Bill crap for KEEPING MORE SECRETS COME ON BILL WTF.

Godric is amazing. I'm really interested in what they're doing with his character. I'm curious as to how close he's going to end up being to how he was in the books.

Anyways, this is by far my favorite episode of the season. Possibly of the entire series, actually. Why do I have to be leaving in two weeks? I hate that the finale falls after school starts. I mean, it's the Sunday after only like 3 days of school, but still. I want to have time free to be able to flail about it, but instead I'll be preoccupied by moving in and starting classes and all that.

Have I mentioned how happy I am that Pysch is back? Because it is, and I love it. I always forget how much fun it is until it comes back on, and then it just brings me lots of joy. It's such a fun show. And Mad Men is premiering on Sunday! Man, it feels like it's been so long since the last season. I can't really remember a lot of what's happened. Maybe I'll marathon both seasons tomorrow and Sunday so I'll be caught up.
