So I went through all the episodes of TV I need to see, and I'm like 44 episodes behind. That's 2 complete seasons of TV! I am going to actually try to catch up on a lot of this stuff this week (although there's no way I'm getting to all of it, especially since right now I'm pretty obsessed with watching as many movies as possible, and I'm half-way through The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins and I'm really liking it, so I'll want to spend some time reading that. Also, I probably should spend some time on schoolwork and stuff).

I finally watched the Psych finale, and lakjsf;lkj omg Hitchcock! They even included Frenzy, which while one of my least favorites of Hitchcock is one of his lesser known, so I liked that they didn't just stick to the major obvious ones. And Lifeboat! That's one of his I haven't seen (I've actually only seen half of all his films, but I have seen all his major ones and many of his minor ones). Spoilers for Psych 4.16 )

Chuck 3.11 )

How I Met Your Mother 5.18 )

Greek 3.18-19 )

I'm somehow already at 52 movies this year. This has never happened before for me. Even last year when I got super obsessed with watching movies in February, in March I only watched 3, so I barely got to 50 by the end of June. And of course I didn't even come close to getting 100 by the end of that year. At this rate, I'll be to 100 by the end of June, meaning that I will have reached my goal in half the time I expected. This is mostly due to getting Netflix, because before when I didn't feel like watching movies, I just wouldn't watch any for a month because it's not like it was costing me anything. But since I'm paying money every month for Netflix, I feel like I have to watch stuff (with instant watch, I'm at about 27 cents a movie, which I think is pretty good). Plus, they physically send me movies, so it's not like I have to go to any trouble to see something that I'm interested in. I'm still surprised I've managed to get so many in, though. In April and May it'll probably die down a little, though, since I have a lot of various projects and assignments this month, and in May I'll have finals and then I'll probably be driving from St. Paul to Orange County with my parents like we normally do which takes a week and a half and I'll have spotty internet connection and no permanent location to receive DVDs.

Anyways, on my last day at home I watched 12 Angry Men and Stalag 17 with my mom on TCM (both of which were very good, although neither are going to vault into my favorite films of all time or anything), and now I'm desperately wishing I had cable TV here if only so I could watch TCM whenever I wanted. (Not that I didn't know how much awesome stuff TCM played before, but when I was checking to see what they had to watch, I looked past Saturday afternoon and saw a bunch of other stuff they were showing, and I wished I was staying at home longer just so I could watch them.) Having Netflix does help, of course, but there are a good number of films that look really good that I want to watch that aren't on Netflix. I already looked at the schedule for late May (when I'll be back home for sure) and I have a list of stuff I want to watch that's airing on TCM.

I want to rec some more movies, like I did with Memento, sometime this week, but I'm debating whether I should do mini-picspams of them. I want to, but I don't know that I have the time. I mean... I probably could fit it in, and I've mentioned I don't have a lot this week, but I have so much next week and the week after that I should start now (although I do have a 3-day weekend starting April 2nd, so that'll help), and it might be hard to find caps of some of the films I want to talk about. But we'll see.

Heh, so I totally wrote up a whole reaction to post to last Sunday's True Blood and then forgot about posting it. True Blood - 2.08 Time Bomb )

Anyways, this is by far my favorite episode of the season. Possibly of the entire series, actually. Why do I have to be leaving in two weeks? I hate that the finale falls after school starts. I mean, it's the Sunday after only like 3 days of school, but still. I want to have time free to be able to flail about it, but instead I'll be preoccupied by moving in and starting classes and all that.

Have I mentioned how happy I am that Pysch is back? Because it is, and I love it. I always forget how much fun it is until it comes back on, and then it just brings me lots of joy. It's such a fun show. And Mad Men is premiering on Sunday! Man, it feels like it's been so long since the last season. I can't really remember a lot of what's happened. Maybe I'll marathon both seasons tomorrow and Sunday so I'll be caught up.

blah. For some reason yesterday I was just in a really bad mood all day, except maybe in German. I feel like I'm really going to love that class. My other classes I definitely do like, but they weren't enough to pull me out of the funk. So I spent yesterday and today so far catching up on summer TV I started neglecting when the Olympics started (and even a little before then). I had Psych 3.04-06 to finish which I did, Mad Men 2.02-2.05 which I haven't yet, and The Middleman 1.08-11 which I just finished.

I'm surprised about how in love I am with the Middleman right now. I think it's mostly because of Tyler, honestly. Nothing gets me hooked better than a ship, and I absolutely loved Tyler in his first episode. I remembered when that episode was over I was like "It figures that the first thing to make me fall in love with this show is only going to last one episode and never be seen again." But then he came back! He also helps because at the start of the show I was set on shipping The Middleman and Wendy, so when it was clear the show was focusing on Lacey and The Middleman instead, I was disappointed and didn't really like seeing them together. And I'm still not a huge fan of them, but I'm warming up to them much more now. Of course, now that I kind of love the show, there's only one episode left this season and I don't think it's been picked up for a second yet and I don't think the ratings are very good and I don't know that it will come back which really sucks. I hope the finale doesn't end on a cliffhanger. =/

Hope everyone enjoys the three-day weekend. I kind of like coming back to school before Labor Day. My school usually starts the Wednesday after Labor Day, but since the Republican National Convention starts next week in the Twin Cities, the school was like "Oh we need to move school up a week because all the hotels in the Twin Cities will be super crowded and it'll be tough with everyone trying to move in and families wanting to stay in hotels" and so on. It was annoying at first, but I like it now. We only have three days of school before we get a three-day weekend (and I only have a lab on Tuesdays for one hour, and all I have to do for that is a page or two of German homework and I honestly kind of love doing German homework, like I have to convince myself to wait to do it until my other homework is done so I get through the other stuff first because I actually enjoy doing the German stuff, so anyways, really I have a four-day weekend) and we get out of school one week earlier and have a 6 1/2 week long winter break which is awesome. I'm kind of in favor of starting a week earlier next year too, but I think we go back to the normal schedule. Oh well.

I officially have a ticket for the midnight showing of The Dark Knight! My concerns about being at work and not being able to make it were unnecessary since I found out on Thursday that I was only working Saturday and Sunday and nothing else this week, so yay! I'm so excited. :D

With my days off, I've been watching lots of stuff. I saw Batman Begins (second time) with Galaxy and Soan a couple nights ago because neither of them had seen it, and then I saw Cinderella Man. I've heard so many times how sad that movie is so I was expecting it to be really depressing, but it really wasn't. I mean, there are sad parts, but... not so much that if someone was asking me about it, I'd describe it as sad. I don't know. It confused me, because I've heard that from so many people. It's like when people describe The Notebook as being really sad, which I don't understand. I mean, Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, but they still had a good 30-40 years together happy and had children and grandchildren, and they died together. Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine and I know it makes no sense for me to get irritated about it, but whatever. Just, I mean, when I think of really sad movies, I think about Requiem for a Dream, which... yeah. That movie doesn't turn out well for anyone. Like, that's so depressing I never want to see it again (despite thinking it was really well-done).

I also started watching Psych. I just started the second season. Ah man, it's so awesome. I've heard it was really good before, but reading about it I saw it was more standalone episodes, and I really need on-going story-arcs to get attached to a show. And a ship to latch onto, which there isn't here. But neither of those things have been issues at all. I fell in love with the show pretty much from the first episode. The characters are all so much fun. It's just really enjoyable. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the show. And the third season premieres this weekend, right? Very good time to get hooked!

I also want to try watching The Wire and Mad Men this summer, but I don't know how likely that'll be. We finally have a full staff at work so my hours have gone way down (40-42 hours a week for the first few weeks now to like 12-14 hours a week. Which kind of sucks since I want to earn more money, but it gives me more time to see movies for free, which is the main reason I wanted the job anyways), but I don't know. We'll see.

I saw Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and oh man that is amazing. I can't wait for the second and third parts. They better put out a soundtrack or make the songs available in some way, or I'll be very sad. Oh, but the funniest thing about it is that I guess they mentioned it in the L.A. Times or something which my mom reads, and she saw it was by Joss Whedon so she mentioned it to me because she knows I like his shows. So I told her I already saw it and it was awesome and she should totally see it, and I think she might. But then, the best part, totally out of the blue, she was like "He's the guy who made Firefly, right? You have those DVDs, don't you?" and I said yes and she was like "I want to watch that show." Heh. I've been planning on showing it to her for awhile because I'm sure she'd love it and it's much less of a time commitment than Buffy, which I'm sure she'd also love. But right now we're making our way through the Doctor Who Season 1 DVDs which she bought the other day since we only have seasons 2-3 for some reason, so we'll probably finish those first and then start Firefly.

Anyways, I think I'll watch more Psych or watch Dr. Horrible Act I again. The second act is coming out tonight, right? I can't wait.
