brokenrecorduh.... what? WHAT? WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? I JUST... WHAT?
SO BARNEY AND ROBIN ARE BROKEN UP. ALREADY. WHAT THE HELL. JUST... WHAT? LIKE 2 EPISODES AGO BARNEY WAS FLYING "ACROSS THE ATLANTIC" TO CANADA TO SAVE ROBIN AND AND AND WHAT.
I think I would be more okay with this if the break-up made it seem like there was a great chance for them to get back together. Like... if they broke up because Robin thought Barney cheated on her or because he DID cheat on her or because... they were afraid they were getting too serious and didn't know how to handle it or SOMETHING but the episode seemed to just be saying that they DO NOT WORK together because they are too similar and they won't be able to make a relationship work between them.
I'm just kind of... flabbergasted? I don't know. I'm so confused! And I did not appreciate how it all went down! And I wanted more shenanigans and them having their own type of relationship rather than conforming to everyone else's ideas of what a couple should do.
If they get back together, can we at least actually see them go through several episodes of sneaking around behind everyone else's backs making out and having lots of sex and such? Because I felt cheated out of that, and I want it.
I'm trying not to judge this too soon because I love this show and they've handled them so perfectly up to this point and I have to believe they have some sort of plan for them and it'll all work out. And I did adore the Alan Thicke cameo, and the reveal that there's another video out there. I guess I'll just have to see where this goes.
But seriously, the ship I waited for forever finally gets together and then breaks up not even halfway through the season, whereas Leonard and Penny danced around together for seasons and are together. Why couldn't THEY break up this easily and leave Robin and Barney alone? (...I realize what occurs on HIMYM has no relation to what happens on TBBT, but still! Why do I have to suffer through couples that suck while the couples that should be awesome are breaking up? Not fair.)
lol omg what's wrong with me that my major reaction around the beginning of the episode was WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR PETE/PEGGY THAT THEY WON'T BE AT THE SAME AGENCY? They haven't had interaction in like a month or more, and there's no indication they're definitely going to do any more with them, but I don't care. I ship them totally irrationally. And I've loved all the random little stuff we've gotten this season, and I want there to be more next season! And with them both joining Don, hopefully there will be more! JOAN HAS THEM SHARING THE DESK. Ah I'm already so excited for the next season, and it's forever away.
The Peggy and Don conversation (the 2nd one) was absolutely epic and amazing. I fully adored it.
...and, ok, there was some other stuff in this episode. HOLY CRAP at Betty wanting a divorce. I didn't think she'd ever go for that. A large part of me is like "NO NO THEY MUST STAY TOGETHER." I totally ship them and I don't even know why, because they're so wrong for each other and dysfunctional and all that. But I want them together anyways. Their argument was epic and amazing, though. They've been so much more honest with each other this season than at any other time. I mean, ok, it's brought on by them arguing and Betty discovering Don's secrets and all that, but still. It's kind of awesome.
I love the new company being formed! It's so exciting! They're totally going to get Sal on board, too, right? He better come back. I can only imagine that he will. And Joan is back! Oh I love this so much. I find who they chose to bring over really interesting. I definitely approve of everyone they chose, and there's no one that they didn't choose that made me be like "NO THEY MUST BE PART OF THE NEW AWESOME FIRM."
I enjoy that Penny has now put Sheldon before her relationship with Leonard more than once. I see where your priorities are, Penny.
This whole episode made me go "OMG POOR SHELDON EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP FIGHTING SO SHELDON WILL STOP BEING SO DISTRESSED." I probably identify and sympathize with him way too much. But this is not exactly news.
Yay for Stuart showing up again! I hope this is building up to causing more problems for Leonard and Penny. And then they can break up. And she and Stuart can go out I guess, but I don't really care. I just want Penny and Leonard to be done. And if Penny and Sheldon happen to get together somewhere down the line, that would definitely be an acceptable consequence of their break-up.
"No matter what happens in our relationship, we will always love you." LOVE. OH MAN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SHE'S SAID SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT TO SHELDON. And logically I know that it's totally not romantic love and they were playing off the whole "Penny and Leonard are like Sheldon's parents" thing, but still. It was adorable. Especially how she said "Yes you can" to him about the robot. She totally clearly cares about him more than any of the other guys, even though he's known Leonard for a long time, it seems, and they're supposedly best friends.
unf Aaron Tveit, I approve of him being around. I even am liking his character more. Sure, it's not good of him to be lusting over Serena when he's married, but he's trying not to! I don't know, I like him a lot. And if Carter had to leave, I'm glad that they replaced him with Aaron Tveit.
Also, Eric/Blair teaming up and scheming to screw Jenny over? YES, DO WANT. I've hated Jenny for ages, and I love Blair and Eric, so I definitely approve of this.
OH HEY LOOK BLAIR AND NATE ARE IN A SCENE TOGETHER. THESE CHARACTERS ACTUALLY ALL KNOW EACH OTHER. They've been kind of really separated this season. Is this like the first interaction Blair and Nate have had all season? I don't know. But it's weird. There hasn't been a whole lot of Nate and Chuck, either, so that was nice.
Also, what the hell were those half-glove things on Jenny's hands during the Cotillion? They looked ridiculous. I also have never enjoyed Jenny/Nate (since, as I said, I don't like Jenny), so I didn't like that she won over Eric and Blair with Nate. I hope they don't really revisit their relationship. bah.
Aw to Eric and Jonathan breaking up. I hope Eric can find a new cute awesome boy to date. And they can do the whole nervous flirtation and not sure if the other is gay/into him thing and it can be epic and awesome. Please? I would be so for that.
Is it weird that the threesome was nowhere close to being the most interesting part of the episode? Mostly because do not want Dan/Vanessa ever, and even though I like Dan a lot more this season, I still don't really care about him that much.
I feel like I really need to make icons. I always want to use an icon matching something I'm talking about, but I keep finding that I have none! Especially for shows like Greek which I'm totally in love with; I really should have at least one. Maybe if I get all my work done early today (yeah, like that'll happen) I'll make some tonight. More likely, it won't be until winter break. Oh well.
