Are you fucking kidding me?! Have you seen Everybody Loves Raymond? Have you seen Arrested Development? I mean, what the hell show are you watching? I can't even get though an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond because I can't stand the lead actor or any single part of the show. This is absolutely ridiculous, and obviously solely because it was Everybody Loves Raymond's last season. I suppose I shouldn't have expected any better, but honestly. I don't understand it.
Emmy Idol: Aw, I thought Kristen Bell did really well. I wanted her to win, but it's not as if I was expecting it. She looked absolutely stunning when she was on the red carpet, too. And she mentioned loving Arrested Development twice!
Comedy Supporting Actor: Should've been Jeffrey Tambor. Again, did the Emmy voters actually watch Everybody Loves Raymond?
Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program: Ok, so the Hugh Jackman bit looked kind of amusing, but come on! Jon Stewart! Are you kidding me?!
Drama Supporting Actress: Didn't care about the result, but Hugh Laurie and Zach Braff presenting! Hee, that was awesome. Hugh Laurie with his normal accent! Awesome.
Directing in a Variety or Music Program: No Daily Show love. :(
Writing in a Variety or Music Program: The Daily Show! Awesome. I would have screamed if this didn't win. The writing is fucking hilarious.
Comedy Supporting Actress: Should have been Jessica Walter. Goddamn Everybody Loves Raymond. IT'S NOT EVEN A FUNNY SHOW. HAVE YOU NOT SEE JESSICA WALTERS? SHE'S HYSTERICAL.
Best Variety or Music Program: The Daily Show! Woohoo! Very well deserved.
Directing in a Drama: Lost! JJ Abrams! Awesome!
Writing in a Drama: House! Heh, I kind of wanted it to be JJ for Lost, just so he'd go up twice in a row (...it amused me for some reason), or Dave Fury for Lost, because Dave Fury, yay! But David Shore for House was definitely acceptable too.
Directing in a Comedy: No Arrested Development directing nod? bah. And, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES IS NOT A COMEDY, DAMNIT. (Oh, but Jon Stewart's opening thing into this? Fucking awesome. I love Jon Stewart.)
Writing in a Comedy: That's more like it. Arrested Development, Righteous Brothers! One of my favorite episodes of the series. Definitely well deserved.
Comedic Actress: Wanted Marcia Cross (even though Desperate Housewives isn't a comedy) simply because of seeing her in Everwood, but eh. Whatever. Didn't care much. Marcia Cross looked absolutely phenomenal tonight, though.
Dramatic Actress: Are you kidding me?! Patricia Arquette?! Kristen Bell can act circles around her! guh! ...not that she would've, you know, gotten it instead, considering she wasn't nommed. But still! I don't know why I expected the results to be any better than this, but honestly.
Comedic Actor: Well, at least it wasn't Ray Romano. But that's just about the only positive thing I can say. COME ON, JASON BATEMAN! Zach Braff would've been acceptable, but geez. JASON BATEMAN. COME ON.
Dramatic Actor: ;jsdf! I wanted it to be Hugh Laurie. He's so fantastic. I forget who won, but I don't know anything about who it was, so I can't say that he didn't deserve it. Still wanted Hugh to win, though.
Drama: Lost! Woohoo! Fun to see the entire cast up there.
Comedy: ;lskjlkj;kjf COME ON. SERIOUSLY. HAVE YOU EVEN WATCHED EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND?! I can't even get through an entire episode because it's so horrible! My GOD.
Ok, so what's with the total snub of Arrested Development?! I mean, besides the best writing, but, I mean, 3/5 were for AD. It would've been insane if they hadn't given them the win there. God, I'm glad Everybody Loves Raymond can no longer be nominated. Fucking ridiculous. Also, I love how in the red carpet segment, before the show, they were talking to Debra Messing, and were all "Man, so many of your guest stars were nommed!" or something, trying to show how great Will and Grace is, but it's more like, no, the reason so many guest stars are nommed is because the show sucks and all they can do to keep viewers in is go for stuntcasting.
Yeah, so, anyways. That was clearly disappointing to me. I hate the Emmy voters. bah.

Date: 2005-09-19 07:35 am (UTC)Always thought AD was boring, but I've been watching reacently (we're at the ep where George Michael tries to get coacaine for Buster) and it is funny. FUNNIER than effing ELR.
These award shows will never nominate/give awards to teen-genre shows. Goodbye Buffy, and Veronica Mars then.
GIVE MARCIA THE EMMY. lolz. Yay for Lost!
DIE ELR. kthnxbai. :P

Date: 2005-09-20 02:27 am (UTC)I love that episode, I think it's one of the best episodes of the series. In any case, pretty much anything is funnier than ELR.

Date: 2005-09-19 02:04 pm (UTC)heheeee hugh laurie and zach braff were the most adorable ever.
that and jon stewart's prerecorded thing were easily the best moments of the night (slash, highlights of my life).
NO, jj deserved no wins, just to spite him.
he didn't apologize for ruining alias.
and if a lost writer was going to win anyway, it should have been david fury.
i love "walkabout" so much, but maybe i'm biased because i love locke so much.
but then again, that episode is one of the reasons i love locke so much.
but i'm happy with david shore winning.
curse no love for arrested development.
