I totally fucked up my right foot at the end of marching band practice today. No idea how. Just all of a sudden, during our final runthrough of practice, the back of my ankle started really, really hurting. I was going to sit out, but it was the last runthrough and it was like a minute left of it and yeah. But it really hurts right now. bah.

Rest of day was pretty good. ...mostly because I pretty much didn't pay attention in any class today (except English - have to pay attention so I highlight the right stuff in the play and make the right notes and so on) and instead just kind of stared at the wall in every class and constructed Veronica/Logan scenes post season 2 premiere and episode 2 in my head. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but I guarantee you that it was far more enjoyable than whatever we were talking about in Euro.

In math I have a 94.6 right now! I am proud. I love how if I got my report card now, it'd be like... A, A/A-, A, A, C+, A. I've started out pretty strongly in like all my classes except for English. I'm slightly afraid I'm going to get a progress report, but my grade is like... 69.8 (on the grading scale for Honors English 3, that's a C+. The grading scale is all different because there are so few points they give out that it'd be ridiculous to have it on a normal grading scale) and... that rounds up to a 70, which is a B-! blah. I hope she gets the tests/essays graded quickly, because I think those scores will actually pull up my grade. Especially my test. I think I did really well on that.

I totally lied when I said last Friday that I wasn't going to talk about Veronica Mars, because I'm going to now. Before I started thinking about V/L, I wrote down all my thoughts on 2x02 during Euro (I was really, really bored), so yeah. Here we go:


First off, I did like the episode. It's definitely not one of my favorites, I do have some issues with it, but I still love Veronica Mars with every fiber of my being.

All right, so I did have a major problem for the Veronica/Duncan sex for several reasons, and only one of them kind of being because I'd prefer Veronica/Logan. But I can even justify that! So there.

The major reason, I can't believe Veronica would have sex period right now. It has been roughly 3 months since she found out Duncan was the one who raped her. Ok, so she decided that Duncan didn't rape her. Putting aside the fact that under California state law, it is still considered a rape (Duncan was raped too, though, under that law. It's a... crime without a criminal? Or... something? There's a term for it, I know, but I can't think of it. Whatever), Veronica spent over a year believing it was a rape. And I don't know, but I don't think it'd be that easy to just be "Wait, Duncan thought it was consensual? And he was drugged too? Ok, not a rape!" and leave it at that. And even if she consciously believes that it wasn't a rape, she still doesn't remember anything about that night. It's just this huge... blank spot. I don't know. There's more I want to say but I don't know how to put it into words. Basically, I just think that Veronica should have definitely had to work through the emotional trauma she suffered from that night before jumping into bed again with anyone.

Second, along the same lines, not only do I find it not completely believable that she'd have sex right now, but especially not with Duncan. Again, though she doesn't blame him for that night (and I'm totally not blaming him at all, btw. I may sound like I am, but I don't mean to), he's still... inevitably linked to it. Logan is as well, but not as closely. Yes, he was the one to give Duncan the GHB, but Duncan was the one to have sex with Veronica. Even if Logan is undoubtedly more to blame for the night than Duncan, Duncan's still just... a lot more closely linked to it because he was the one she had sex with. So of all the people Veronica could possibly have sex with, Duncan is definitely one of the most unlikely in my mind.

I do think it would be more likely for her to sleep with Logan, just because she and Logan were always more about the physical attraction. Yes, there were feelings on both sides (especially Logan's). I doubt Veronica would've gotten together with him if she hadn't really felt something for him or if she hadn't seen him break down after realizing his mother was dead. But the physical attraction between them was really was set things off. With Duncan, it was always more innocent and lovey-dovey and just... not as physical. They did have that one dream in episode 3 where they were getting all hot and heavy, but other than that, they were always less about the physical attraction, more about the emotions. I mean, they dated for what, like a year? And didn't sleep together. It just seems to me like Veronica and Logan would be much more likely to have sex before Veronica and Duncan would.

Lastly, and I think possibly my biggest grievance, is how it even came about? I mean, Veronica was all "I don't want to regret anything" or something, and suddenly she was having sex with Duncan? It was just this huge leap. She had never talked about regretting not having sex with Duncan or whatever, she had never seemed like she had this great desire to jump Duncan's bones, so I just don't understand where it even came from. I really wish they'd delved into that more, because it seemed to just be completely out of the blue.

Anyways, moving on from teh sex. The Veronica/Logan scene nearly made up for the Veronica/Duncan sex. Man, was that awesome. I don't have words. It just rocked.

The new character, Jackie, annoyed me. Was I supposed to like her? Because I really didn't. I loved Wallace coming to her rescue, though. And look at Wallace now, how far he's come from the Pilot! He can solve mysteries all on his own! Awesome. He was such an awesome best friend too, when he called Veronica and she was talking about how she was feeling about the bus crash and all.

I hated the part where Veronica snapped at Duncan because he was being too happy and he just walked away. I mean, no, she shouldn't have suddenly gotten angry at him, but I thought he was being a really crappy boyfriend by just walking away and not trying to figure out why she was angry or apologizing or trying to help or just something.

I love Beaver, and I love Logan fluffing Beaver's hair.

So Meg's not dead? lksjdf I don't hate her, but I feel like it's such a copout to keep her alive. I mean, there's no point in keeping her in a coma if she's just going to die, so obviously she's going to pull out of it, and it's just so frustrating. And now the end of the first episode just loses a lot of its impact for me because like... my very first thought when it went off the cliff was all "OMG MEG IS DEAD!!!" But now she's not, now it's just a bunch of random people that we had never seen before on the bus dead, and it just doesn't have the same impact.

Um, but yay for Keith running for mayor. Go Keith! The scene at the end between him and Veronia was too sweet. I love their relationship.

Something's been feeling kind of off during this season so far, and I noticed one major thing: we haven't had any scenes in Mars Investigations, have we? I mean, I think there was at least one scene there in every. single. episode of season 1, but none so far during season 2. And that just feels really wrong to me. bah.

Um, anyways. Yeah. I did have problems with it, but I enjoyed it well enough.

Yeah, it's a lot better now. It still hurts a little if I walk too much on it, but it definitely doesn't hurt nearly as much.
