Am I the only one who hates Andy/Nina and ships Jake/Nina on Everwood? Please tell me I'm not alone. Because I get the appeal of Andy/Nina, I really do. But I just haven't been able to forgive Andy for what an ass he was in season 3, and I've just loved Jake and Nina together so much more since then. And yeah, they're together now, but man are they gearing for an Andy/Nina ending. I mean, I'm completely unspoiled (so don't get angry if you think I've spoiled you, because I haven't, this is all just speculation on my part), but it just seems obvious that this is where they're heading. And it's pissing me off so much, because I really just don't want them to be together. I don't feel like Andy deserves her, and I've loved how Jake was really there for her in season 3, and yeah, he has had his problems this season, but I still feel like he's much better for Nina than Andy.

And I've been sitting here, trying to read some Veronica Mars fic, but I can't, because I can't stop thinking about this. I just feel so angry. So I was trying to go back to think like "Well, it's ok. What about this show where your favorite ship didn't end up together?" But then... I couldn't think of a single one. Seriously. I mean, ok, there are a few. Or, like, one. But for all the other shows, either the ship I loved ended up together; while they weren't together really, they either went further than I thought they would (George Michael/Maeby) or there was hope for the future (Brian/Justin); I didn't ship anyone; or even though they didn't end up together, they also didn't end up with anyone else. I think if it does end up Nina/Andy, it'll be the first time where they'll actually end it with a ship I've kind of come to really dislike, and since I've been so used to getting my way, this is just pissing me off more than it should.

I don't know. It just disappoints me. I'm really sad that Everwood's been cancelled, so I just want at the very least for them to give me the ending I want. And I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority. Just about everyone else I've seen ships Nina and Andy (which, btw, if you are someone who does, please don't take offense at any of this).

sigh. Just a TV show. Just a TV show.

I think I get way too obsessed with these sorts of things.

(I don't have any Everwood icons! This is clearly a grave mistake that must be eradicated immediately. Or, you know, whenever I get around to it.)

You're the FIRST person I've come across that doesn't want Nina/Andy. YAY!

I admit, I used to want them together way back when (like, S1), but now it's Jake/Nina all the way.

I'm so sad about the cancellation. It's seriously unfair that they chose 7th Heaven over this AWESOME show. Literally. I don't know if you read the interview with the president of The CW -- Dawn whateverherlastnameis -- but that's what she said. It was between Everwood and 7th Heaven. It was going to be Everwood (it even appeared on the schedule on very 1st version of the CW site), until the numbers came in for the season finale of 7th Heaven--which were apparently really high. High enough to bring back a show that was ALREADY CANCELLED and NEEDS TO DIE to get rid of a wonderful show that still has many stories left to tell. Ugh.

Sorry. I'm still very bitter.

Anyway, Nina/Jake whee! We have to have hope. We oddball shippers need to stick together. :)

Yeah, I was totally the same way. I loved them in season 1, and even in season 2. And even in the start of season 3 I liked Jake, but I wasn't so sure how I felt about them together. But man, then they got together and I just fell in love with them.

I know, me too. It's ridiculous. I mean, do they not get that the high numbers for 7th Heaven were probably more due to the fact that it had gone on for like 10 seasons and it was the last episode ever, so people were like "Well, haven't been watching for 5 years, but I guess I'll tune in for the very last episode." I mean, I know plenty of people who did that. They can't expect the same numbers and same amount of people to follow 7th Heaven to the CW.

Hee, yes! God, I would be so happy if they ended the show with Nina/Jake.

I have to say that I am a Andy/Nina shipper. LOL, and I don't take offense at your writing ;) I do get the appeal of Jake/Nina ... they're sweet together, he took care of her in s3, she took care of him in s4. But I ... don't really see that much chemistry anymore. I'm not saying I see sparks ALL the time when I see Andy/Nina, but I just like the idea of them together more at this point. Mind you, I'm not a REAL A/N shipper as in they're not my OTP or even close. That would be E/A on this show.

I'm sad Everwood got cancelled. I would have loved to see Ephram getting a hang of the teaching thing (other than with Kyle), him and Amy together (I do believe they're heading there, especially because it's the finale. It's not a spoiler, I now nothing.) and Andy and Nina trying to work together (because even though she said it was 'so easy' being around him, I think they will have some problems actually being together.) I dunno if I'm making any sense. LOL.

Well, I can understand it. And really, I did like Andy and Nina at one point, but then Andy just started really irritating me as a character. Ah, yeah, I really like E/A a lot too. They were totally my OTP during season 1, and I don't think they are anymore, but I'm still kind of hoping they end up together in the finale.

I know, I'm in total agreement with you. Ephram's whole decision that he now wants to be a music teacher rather than a musician was really interesting to me, and I'd love to see it play out next season, but now we don't have the chance. :(

Yeah, Cordy/Angel was irritating, but they never really dated, and they were kind of sweet in that one episode where Cordy was dead. Plus, I think I was a lot more angry then, but I haven't thought about Angel much in awhile, so it doesn't bother me as much right now.

I am SO with you on this one. I like Andy. I do. I don't have a problem with him, really. I just don't see Nina with him anymore. Not at all. And Jake is just so sweet and so in love with her (and here's where I turn into a TOTAL girl) and can they just NOT screw that up?

I've always hated Andy/Nina too, maybe because it just seems like it could be such an easy functional relationship. I mean before Jake showed up, there was really nothing stopping Nina from pursuing Andy (I'm sooo not counting any of Andy's hookups as viable wives) so yeah, never been a fan of them...and I like Jake, sometimes more than Andy, even if the writers go out of their way to assassinate him each episode

I actually liked them at one point, but then in early season 3 Andy just treated Nina like an ass, and all of a sudden Jake was there for her, and so sweet... sigh. And even though I don't hate Andy as a character anymore, I still hate the idea of him and Nina together.

Oh, I know what you mean. Jake was so awesome last year, but this year they just seem to be trying to make him purposely look bad to make Andy look better.

Yeah, I'm really worried now for the finale of Everwood, because I'm positive they're going to break up my ship and pick up this new one kind of out of nowhere. I mean at least in the past, when my ship hasn't ended up together, the people in the ship haven't ended up with anyone else, either. Or I haven't hated the ship at the end. But now I think they're going to, and it's really bothering me.

Oh my God, finally. I hate Andy/Nina. Like...so much. I never really liked them, and then after Andy was an ass last season and Nina is just irritating this season, I can't possibly ship them. Plus, I love Jake and want him to be happy and for some reason Nina makes him happy. And even though I have shows where the couple I wanted didn't end up together(Angel, for example), it's just really frustrating because it's the end of the show and I want it to end the way I want it.

And they're kind of cliche too. Like, they usually have lame storylines like theirs with teenagers. Can't adults have a storyline that actually makes sense? *shrug*

I totally agree. I mean it just seems to like... set up, I guess. If they were going to go this route, I wish they would've done it at the start, at least. But they really don't make sense, because Nina was so in love with Jake last season, and yeah she had had feelings for Andy, but I thought she moved on from him when she started getting serious with Jake. And, I mean, they've lived together for nearly a year now, but all of a sudden she's thinking of going with Andy? sigh.

You should! This summer so far I'm planning on starting watching Weeds, The Office (US, possibly also UK), and Battlestar Galactica (although I tried that last year and got bored within like 2 minutes. But I didn't really give it much of a chance). And possibly something else I'm forgetting.

Who's Jake? I've only watched up to the beginning of s3 and I don't remember him. hmm anyway I was pretty indifferent to the Andy/Nina vibes. ugh I can't believe Everwood is getting cancelled. How awful!

Jake was introduced in the beginning of season 3 and he stayed with the show this season. I actually did like Andy and Nina before season 3, but once season 3 started, bleh. Haven't liked them since. I know, it's so terrible it's getting cancelled. Especially since it's only getting cancelled because they're bringing 7th Heaven back, a show they already cancelled last like December, or whatever.

Yeah, shipping definitely breaks my heart sometimes. But the good moments definitely more than make up for it.
