Just finished season 2 of The Office.
[dies and is dead]

I mean, I knew it was all coming, but OMFG A;SLKFJDLKJA;LSDFJ;LAKSJFDLKJS;LKJ SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean god. Just reading other people's posts, seeing what Jim says, it's nowhere near what it's like watching it. How he says "I'm in love with you" and "I want to be more than that", and omg EVERYTHING eeeeeeeee!!!

I swear to god I had some rational thoughts about the show before I saw this episode, but they're pretty much all gone now. And I can't stop watching the last like 3 minutes, from when Jim talks to her about his feelings to the kiss. a;lksjd;lkj omg THE KISS! [dies] oh god, Jim crying! John Krasinski is such an amazing actor. I love him so much.

al;skjfd oh god. I can't collect my thoughts.

[sigh] Ok. I think I've calmed down a bit.

So. I kind of like this show, I think. If, you know, you couldn't tell.

The second season is better than the first. First off, I definitely like them toning down Michael. He could be kind of painful to watch in the first season, but he was a lot more sympathetic in the second. He still was that completely oblivious boss who thinks he's hilarious but really isn't, but it's not so... cringe-worthy, I guess.

I like all the attention to the sort of secondary characters and how they're given more background and personalities rather than just kind of existing in the background but never having much part in anything.

I kind of love Dwight, and, strangely enough, Dwight/Angela. I wouldn't think I would, but... they're kind of adorable, in they're own, screwed up way.

Um, I feel like I should have more to say about non-Jim or Jim/Pam things, but I really don't. I just am that obsessed.

One thing I just kind of wanted to say about them, which I mentioned in my other post after seeing season 1, is that I like how kind of subtle it starts off. I read someone's perspective on one of the episodes once, and they said something like "It's funny how in a show where everyone's talking to the camera, there's a lot left unsaid" and I really agree. And I love it that way. Jim never really explicitly states how he feels to the camera. I mean, at least not at first. And as the series progresses, he does mention things like "Christmas is the time for telling someone how you feel" (or something like that) and of course "I would save the receptionist" (which is probably the most... overt display of his feelings, I guess). But I think in other, less-well-handed shows, by like the second episode, Jim would have said to the camera something about his feelings for Pam. I don't know.

And the thing is, I usually don't like it when pairings are telegraphed from the very first episode, because it just seems too obvious, you know? And it's just like... bleh. Irritating, I guess. But this is handled so well, so it doesn't feel like it's the only thing the show is about, and it doesn't become too much so you get sick of it. It's just really nice and subtle and alskdjf;lkj I love it so much.

Booze Cruise killed me dead so much. Just... everything. The silence when they're talking and Jim's "I would save the receptionist" which I've already meantioned like 1000 times, but I love it so fucking much, because as much as I love Jim when he's being funny and charming, I love him the most when he's all serious. And jeez, so freaking close!

And oh god, my thoughts are getting all sporadic again, but man, I just love them so much.

So, uh, yeah. Is it season 3 yet?

Anyways, sorry to anyone on my flist who doesn't watch The Office or hates it or whatever, but I won't be this way for long. This is just how I get. I find something, I obsess over it, and in a few weeks, I obsess over something else. It was the season finale of Veronica Mars, then it was Everwood, now it's this. I'll be over it in a few weeks.

god, i got all giddy and fangirly just reading this!

first of all -- people timed the silence on the deck in "booze cruise." 27 fucking seconds of silence. dlkgthlkgh!!

i love jim so much. he's the best. he's so adorable. omg, in the ep where pam jinxes him (was it "drug testing"?) and he can't talk, and then she buys him the soda and scooches it across the desk to him, and he gives the most perfect little "hi" EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORD? oh, squee.

ok, i have to stop. i will not spaz. O.O

Hee! I love that people actually timed it. 27 seconds! That's awesome.

He is! I know what you mean, I loved that "Hi" so much. So freaking adorable. al;ksjd oh man I love him.

Hee, I've been totally spazzing like all night. I haven't been able to stop watching the end of Casino Night, I just keep going through those scenes.

you should've seen my flist right after "casino night" aired. it, like, exploded with squeee. and i capslocked all through everyone's comments, and then i rewatched 4700 times, and then i made icons, and it just didn't end.

did you notice that after jim walks away from pam in the parking lot, she's fiddling with her engagement ring? i didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me.

also, i LOVE how she calls her mom. it's such a real thing to do, and it made it that much more squeeworthy, because it was worth calling her mom (presumably somewhat late at night) over. and i totally am convinced that when she said "yeah, i think i am" she was saying she thinks she's in love with jim.

because HOW could she not be?!?

*did not at all squee reading this post* *cough*

I think I need to rewatch the whole thing. Like, I watched it too fast and totally forgot about the "I would save the receptionist" thing. I love that episode though, because of that silence. omg, the silence. *dies* That episode made me cry, which made me realize that the show was more than weird humor and Jim and Pam being adorable.

THE FINALE OMG. That was amazing. They are the best thing EVER. Jim cried! And they kissed! AND YAY!

I also ship Dwight/Angela. They're no Jim/Pam, but totally adorable. Like in the finale, when he kisses her cheek and she slaps him and then the little smile when she walks away. CUTE!

...I need to stop squeeing at you, lol.

Hee, actually, my flist was the same, which was how I got spoiled for the ending of season 2 before I had even seen an episode. I mean, people put their reactions behind cuts and everything, but I saw all the "OMG!" and lots of Jim/Pam icons and I was like "...I bet Jim and Pam got together" and then checked under one of the cuts and was right.

Heh, yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing. Looking through any comments I can find, rewatching the scene a billion times, and making loads of icons.

Oh man, I totally did not notice that. Probably means I should rewatch the scene again. ;)

I loved that too! My first thought when she was on the phone was that she had called Roy, which didn't make sense to me, so I was really glad when it turned out to be her mom. I definitely found it very realistic. And yeah, I totally believe her mom asked "Are you in love with him?" and she responded with the "Yeah, I think I am".

Hee, I know. Honestly. After a confession of love like that, how could she ever turn him down?

Hee! :D

I feel like rewatching all of the episodes again. But I suppose I should probably hold off until next week. I don't know if I'll have that much restraint, though.

I know!!! The finale was so freaking amazing! I can't wait until season 3!

Heh, I know, I loved that little kiss on the cheek. They're definitely not Jim/Pam, but I still like them for their own kind of cuteness.

Hee, feel free to squee. I've just been squeeing all to myself all night, so it's nice to have people to squee with.

Hee, I'm dorkily grinning just reading your reactions! I nearly fell off the couch when he kissed her, for real. I was NEVER expecting that to happen. I mean, I was shocked enough when he told her he was in love with her (and I was really shocked about that), and then the kiss...guh. And I'm apparently still not able to talk about that moment without becoming a total puddle of goo, heh.

Heh, yeah, I would've never expected it would happen if I hadn't been spoiled. Ah, man, but it was just so awesome. I can't stop grinning now, and it's been like an hour since I saw the episode. I love them so much! :D

I don't mind at all, feel free to use it. I would end up posting it in an icon post eventually anyways. :)

Yay for The Office! :D

YAYYYYAYAYAYAYAYAYYY

Those were kinda my thoughts after the finale. I agree with you on EVERYTHING. Season two is better than one, JOHN KRASINSKI IS THE BEST ACTOR IN THE UNIVERSE, and Booze Cruise really killed me too. Like when he just broke up with Katie in this casual way because he didn't care because PAM AND ROY HAD SET A DATE AND SKJHDFLKJHSDLFKJHSDLFSHDF he's crushed and SO AM I.

So yeah...its been a while since I've seen the finale and I STILL can't form thoughts.

:D

Hee, awesome. :D Oh, man, I know. Just, ah! I think I need to watch Booze Cruise again. Casino Night I've watched like a million times again, but not Booze Cruise.

Heh, I imagine it's going to take me awhile to be able to talk about the finale for extended amounts of time without just starting to squee from the awesomeness of it all. Oh man, I really need season 3 to start, like, now.

When is it coming back?

I don't know for sure, but I would assume late September or early October. So no longer than most other shows, but still much longer than I want to wait.
