Aug. 1st, 2006 08:55 pmBeen watching a bunch of TV:
So far I don't hate it. I think I kind of like it. I think I need to see a few more episodes to get a real idea about it. The pilot didn't seem to have a lot of focus to me, and it was kind of slow-paced. I think I'll like it more once all the different people are together rather than spread out. And the show could've done with a little humor. But yeah, I'll watch a few more episodes.
I thought it was pretty funny and I'm interested to see the friendships between the five people develop more. It's a midseason show and I don't think they have a day and time for it yet, though, so I don't know if I'll be able to, but if I can I'll probably check it out.
...uh. I don't really like it. I was expecting to like it just because I've heard good things about it, but I just... don't. I really dislike Turtle and... Johnny? I like Vince and Eric, and Ari I'm kind of neutral about. The show just doesn't seem to have much of a point, I guess. I don't find it particularly funny or interesting. And I absolutely hate all the rap music. I hate rap music in general, and sometimes I think it can be used well, but it's just too much for me. So, yeah. I have the rest of the first season waiting on my computer to be watched, and I want to give it more of a chance than I have, but... I'm really just not very interested in it. I don't know, I'll see. If I have time and I'm bored, I might check it out.
This show is fucking hilarious. I've seen it described as Scrubs meets Arrested Development meets The Office on acid several places, and that's exactly what it is. (Well, I've only seen a couple scenes from Scrubs, but from what I've seen it's like it.) I absolutely love Mac and Boyce more than I can possibly express. And the rest of the characters are all awesome in their own way, too. I wasn't much of a fan after the first episode, I thought it was just kind of funny but it didn't seem to have much of a focus, but I kind of got used to the feel of the show after that and now I'm just totally in love with it. I thought I'd hate the slowing down and speeding up, but I was used to it by the second episode. I don't ship Mac and Caroline, but I do really like them. I just think they're cute together. So, yeah. I just have immense amounts of love for this show, and I can't wait to see the second season.

That's my tentative schedule, at least. I see either Vanished or Heroes being dropped (possibly both) since I'm not incredibly into either, and it's going to be ridiculously difficult to keep up with all that TV, especially during marching band season. And I also kind of have a feeling that Vanished will be cancelled. And The O.C., Lost, House, and Gilmore Girls are also kind of shaky, although they'll probably all stay. And America's Next Top Model is just a guilty pleasure show, so it could also easily go. It's just if I have time to watch it.
I only have 1 1/2 days of summer school left! (The half day is because we don't have to take the final in political science if our grade isn't borderline, so I get to leave after economics on Thursday, and on Friday I don't have to come at all.) So glad that's nearly through with.

Date: 2006-08-02 04:14 am (UTC)I feel pretty much the same as you about Heroes though. It was a little slow and unfocused, but I hope that as they flesh out how all these people are connected and what their purpose is it will become a little more interesting and cohesive.

Date: 2006-08-02 04:29 am (UTC)Yeah, it was a little confusing at first switching from place to place and trying to get all the characters straight in my head, but I'm looking forward to them actually meeting and interacting.
