Festival went well. Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble (the band I'm in) all got unanimous superiors for stage and superiors in sight reading, which hasn't happened ever in the four years I've gone to this school. Actually, I don't remember even one of the bands getting unanimous superior and superior any year (there was unanimous superior and excellent, and there was superior and superior, but not both). So yeah, pretty good.

Saturday was better than I expected. Waking up at 5:00 AM to go to school for the jazz festival was not my idea of fun. But we played well at the festival, Andrew and I listened to one group after we finished, and then we got to leave at like 10 AM because of the Jackie/Galaxy/Richard party thing while everyone else had to stay until like 7:30ish. So yeah, since I didn't stay, I don't know how we did, but I wouldn't imagine we got any amazing awards or anything. But we played our best, so I'm happy about that.

The party was great fun. It helped that I napped for 2 hours when I got home so I wasn't dead tired when I went to the party. There was a lot of people there and a good amount I didn't know very well, but there was enough that we could break off into our own groups and just hang out with the people we knew better. And Annie was there! God, I haven't seen her in ages. We need to hang out more, Annie. When the pool (where the party was) closed around 10 we went to Richard's house (in much smaller numbers) and hung out there. Oh, and Annie made me a facebook (which is here if you feel like friending me. I don't really know how much I'll use it. I'm thinking I'll use it more once I'm in college. But yeah, anyways). Annie and I left around midnight, and so did a couple of other people. But yeah, it was pretty fun.

The new Office promo for the April 5th episode (which can be found here) is ridiculously awesome. There are small spoilers in the last like... 20 seconds of the promo for the episode so if you're trying to avoid spoilers you might not want to watch it, or at least not watch that part, but the rest is like a summary from Casino Night about Jim/Pam, and it is so kickass. I'm so excited for the episode now. Less than two weeks! :D

Ok, so now I have to catch up on all the work I missed because of festival. I finished three nights of calculus (...which somehow only took me 20 minutes, whereas usually one night takes me about 30-40 minutes. I feel like I missed something) and the chem free response questions that were due Friday. Now all I have is some pages in a French packet, a French essay, memorizing a French skit, chapter 4 of The Sound and the Fury, and studying for the physics test. It seems like a lot, but it's only 2 PM, and I'm impressed I've done anything at all. I probably won't even study for the physics test because it'll most likely be the last test of the quarter and I've done well enough on the other two tests this quarter that I don't need to drop them and I can drop this test instead. Which is good, because I missed two days of notes with Festival and I haven't really absorbed anything else he's taught us on this unit.

Yeah, anyways. Off to do homework now.

Accepted to Macalester yesterday! Pretty happy about this. Not my first choice, but I like it more than anywhere else I've been accepted so far, and it's a really nice school. The envelope said "YES MACALESTER" pretty large on the envelope. I think it'd be funny if the rejection letter said "NO MACALESTER" and waitlist said "MAYBE MACALESTER." (Well, that'd be mean if it really was like that, but it's funny to think about.)

Since getting accepted to Whitman last Friday, I got two letters from them on Tuesday and one today. And they're all just like "Congratulations on getting accepted! Here are the reasons why you should go to Whitman!" And... ok, I can see sending one to me, but three? Isn't that a bit overkill? I think maybe they're just going to send me one everyday until I say I'll go to their school.

It's the SCSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival at my school, and my house smells like potatoes because of it. My mom's been baking potatoes all day to sell at the school and so now it just smells like potatoes everywhere. Festival's been a lot more fun this year so far. I remember really hating it last year, and the year before wasn't much better (freshman year was good, though). But I like this year. I think mostly because I'm not guiding. That gets really tiring after awhile. Sight reading room and judge's aide is the way to go.

So much real life stuff going on all of a sudden, and now I have no time for TV and fandom. Such sadness. I thought I'd be able to relax more what with Festival and not having any classes today or tomorrow, but yesterday I ended up taking 6 hours making the senior pages for the memory book (for the end of the year band banquet) and I had no time to even think about starting the junior pages, and so today I have to do those, hopefully in time to watch Ugly Betty tonight. I probably can't watch Supernatural, I skipped Lost last night, and I skipped Battlestar Galactica last Sunday, so I'll have all of those to watch tomorrow, except that tomorrow is more Festival and then I think Emma wanted to go see Comedy Sports at 7:30, and then Saturday is crazy day with Fullerton Jazz Festival and Jackie/Galaxy/Richard birthday party. sigh. I've gotten way too busy all of a sudden. :(

Two more weeks of school and then spring break! Ridiculous. I thought it was so much further away. I don't think I've mentioned this, but I'm going for four days with band to San Francisco at the end of spring break, and I'm really looking forward to it.

All right, time for working on the junior pages.

Man, I'm so exhausted. I always look forward to the Band and Orchestra festival, forgetting how freaking exhausting it was.

The highlight of festival was seeing Annie. The rest was pretty sucky. At least it's over now. (Of course a year from now you can be sure I'll be posting "OMG FESTIVAL'S COMING UP I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!")

I watched the premiere of Doctor Who Friday night on the sci-fi channel, and wheee. When does season 2 start? I haven't seen season 1 since it first aired, last year, and I was starting to forget how much I love it. I can't wait until it gets through airing the entire season; I really want to see the season finale again. So freaking good. I also told my mom to watch it (she's seen a few episodes from old seasons but never really got into it. But she's a science fiction and fantasy writer so it's totally up her alley) and she told me she liked the first episode, but she wasn't sure if it was something she'd ever really get into. But she wasn't able to see the second episode because she had to go pick up my dad from somewhere, and I told her that it only gets better and better. So hopefully she'll keep watching and like it even more.

So much work to catch up on, but I think I'll do it while watching the Prison Break marathon on FX.

First off, Multi-Fandom Friending Meme! Welcome to all my new friends! :D

So, I've successfully gotten Galaxy in love with Wicked. I rule at life. Now I just have to convert every single other friend of mine into loving it.

This week is the Band and Orchestra District Festival which means a bunch of bands and orchestras come to my school and play in front of judges and get scores and the people in the bands and orchestras at my school help run it. So that means I pretty much don't have school on Thursday and Friday since I'll either be playing in the festival or helping out. I'm being a guide, sight-reading... helper?, and floater. The floater kind of annoys me since it means you essentially do nothing, but I felt better about that because Emma switched with me for one of the groups I was guiding and now I get to guide Woodbridge Wind Ensemble, which Annie is in, and means that I get to see her for sure for the first time in forever.

We finished the 1992 version of Wuthering Heights. So terrible. It's supposedly the best version, but I don't think that's saying much. It was just totally ridiculous. But still, very entertaining to watch, I suppose.

blah. English unit test and pre-calc quiz tomorrow, so I should probably be studying now.
