I've been updating so infrequently, but nothing's really been happening. Last Saturday I went to the Spectrum with Annie which was awesome because I hadn't seen Annie since we saw Miss Saigon in like May, but also sucked because it was like the hottest day of the year (it was 98 degrees when I was driving home at 5:30. Ridiculous). But it was awesome seeing her again, and I got three new CDs: 30 Second to Mars's A Beautiful Lie, Mike Doughty's Haughty Melodic, and Muse's Black Holes and Relevations.

Since then, I've pretty much just been rewatching Queer as Folk. I've watched up to 303, so I should be done by Saturday I would think. I'll probably make a post about some random thoughts I've had while rewatching once I finish.

I had my senior picture on Tuesday, which was... okay. I don't know, it just felt weird, because I had to smile like continuously and I don't know. It was just weird. Hopefully I'll get a decent shot. Glad it's done with, in any case.

New York in just a little over a week! It seemed so far away, and now it's so close! Ah, I'm excited.

Anyways, I guess I should study a bit for my political science test tomorrow. So close to being done with summer school! And then more Queer as Folk! :D

Yesterday was good. I went to see our school musical, Miss Saigon, with some friends. I almost wasn't able to go because earlier in the week I had left my ticket on the floor of my room and... if you've seen the floor of my room, you'll know why this is a bad idea. I have just so many papers and SAT books and other books and old junk on my floor. And in between that time, the cleaning lady came, and when she comes, all she does is push all the stuff to the perimeter of my room and vacuum. So when I realized I had no idea what I had done with my ticket, I was like "...oh, crap." And I put every single thing on the floor on top of my bed (which was a lot of stuff) and still couldn't find it and was freaking out, but then I went through all the stuff on top of my bed a second time and finally found it, thank god.

Anyways, I'm glad I was able to go. Annie came! (She's one of my closest friends I know from middle school but goes to a different high school.) And the musical itself was pretty good, too. I think I liked Urinetown better (and definitely Wicked, but I'm like obsessed with that) because, I don't know, even though it wasn't a happy ending or anything, it mixed in a lot of humor, so it wasn't just completely depressing, which is what Miss Saigon was like. I mean, it was good, but I didn't come out of the theater with a really good mood.

After that, I took Galaxy and her friend who's in the pit orchestra for the musical to Starbucks, and then we went to the band bowling event thing that was going on from 11 PM to 2 AM. That was mostly fun. I'm such an excellent bowler. On my first game, I got a total of 38! (I think Andrew said he got 19 on one game, though, so he beats me.) The best part, though, was definitely when a couple of us got tired of bowling so I went outside with Emma, Jackie, and Andrew and we played a card game (which sounds kind of lame, but it was a lot of fun). Although Soan attempting to dance with pretty much everyone was also very amusing.

Pictures from bowling! (Very image heavy!) )

Then today I went to get my haircut, finally! The Pictures! )

Man, I'm so exhausted. I always look forward to the Band and Orchestra festival, forgetting how freaking exhausting it was.

The highlight of festival was seeing Annie. The rest was pretty sucky. At least it's over now. (Of course a year from now you can be sure I'll be posting "OMG FESTIVAL'S COMING UP I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!")

I watched the premiere of Doctor Who Friday night on the sci-fi channel, and wheee. When does season 2 start? I haven't seen season 1 since it first aired, last year, and I was starting to forget how much I love it. I can't wait until it gets through airing the entire season; I really want to see the season finale again. So freaking good. I also told my mom to watch it (she's seen a few episodes from old seasons but never really got into it. But she's a science fiction and fantasy writer so it's totally up her alley) and she told me she liked the first episode, but she wasn't sure if it was something she'd ever really get into. But she wasn't able to see the second episode because she had to go pick up my dad from somewhere, and I told her that it only gets better and better. So hopefully she'll keep watching and like it even more.

So much work to catch up on, but I think I'll do it while watching the Prison Break marathon on FX.

First off, Multi-Fandom Friending Meme! Welcome to all my new friends! :D

So, I've successfully gotten Galaxy in love with Wicked. I rule at life. Now I just have to convert every single other friend of mine into loving it.

This week is the Band and Orchestra District Festival which means a bunch of bands and orchestras come to my school and play in front of judges and get scores and the people in the bands and orchestras at my school help run it. So that means I pretty much don't have school on Thursday and Friday since I'll either be playing in the festival or helping out. I'm being a guide, sight-reading... helper?, and floater. The floater kind of annoys me since it means you essentially do nothing, but I felt better about that because Emma switched with me for one of the groups I was guiding and now I get to guide Woodbridge Wind Ensemble, which Annie is in, and means that I get to see her for sure for the first time in forever.

We finished the 1992 version of Wuthering Heights. So terrible. It's supposedly the best version, but I don't think that's saying much. It was just totally ridiculous. But still, very entertaining to watch, I suppose.

blah. English unit test and pre-calc quiz tomorrow, so I should probably be studying now.

Seen this several places: Ask for my opinion about anything regarding Veronica Mars, the show or fandom, and I shall tell you. It's that simple.

I forgot to mention, I liked Brokeback even better a second time. There are so many little things you notice the second time, and it's just excellent. I also read the book last night and I actually think I like the movie better, just because it gives you so many more details and fleshes the characters out even more.

I also finished About a Boy today, which I really enjoyed, and now I want to see the movie.

Today after finished About a Boy, I picked up Jackie, Galaxy, Justin, and Andrew from their AP Art History review and we played Cranium at my house for like 45 min and then went to UCI center and Jackie, Galaxy, and I watched Pride and Prejudice (my third time). Also, there are ads in the theater that they're going to be showing Brokeback Mountain there soon, so once it does come out, I think we have a plan to see Pride and Prejudice (a 4th time - Jackie really loves that movie. And actually, I thought I would be sick of it by now, but I'm really not. I mean, it's not my favorite movie ever, but I do really enjoy it. And I think I'll always love Colin Firth's Darcy more, but the new Darcy is just... he's just kind of like a different take on Darcy and so they're both different, but I like both versions. But, um, anyways, I do really love the story of P&P, and yeah. Somehow I haven't gotten sick of it yet), then Brokeback Mountain, and then Goodnight and Goodluck, since it's also playing there and I want to see it and I think Jackie and maybe Galaxy want to, too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANNIE! Even though I already told you that. But still. Happy birthday!

Yesterday was fun. Hung out with Jackie, Emma, Soan, Justin, Ariel, Jessica, and the trombone who's not Caroline who's name I can't spell (Hari? Hori? Something like that.) at Del Taco, and then went to the football game. That wasn't quite as fun, but it was more enjoyable than the ones freshman year. The show was kind of a disaster, but eh. We did only learn the last few pages Wednesday, and we've never run first movement straight to second, so it could've been worse. After the game, I went to Lee's Sandwiches and met up with Annie. More people were supposed to come, but the only ones that did were Soan and then a bunch of people I'm not really friends with. But it was great being able to see Annie. :)

This morning was the ACT. All the sections except the essay were so much easier than the SAT. Seriously, if you're a junior/senior, take the ACT. I mean, take the SAT too, if you want (I'm planning to), but... take the ACT just to see. Because I know Richard said he got a way better ACT score than SAT score, and it's a lot less painful test to take. The essay sucked, though, because it was like... more specific, and I wasn't prepared for that sort of essay. I think I did really horribly on it, actually. I don't think my examples had anything to do with what I was supposed to say. And I remembered I was going to say something else at the end, but I forgot about it until our time was up. blah. At the end the person was saying when we'd get our scores, and she was all "They should be mailed in about 47 weeks" and I was all "...uh... wait a sec...?" And then someone asked her and she was all "What? No! I didn't say 47! I said 2 to 4!" And I would've understood if she said 4 to 7 because that sounds like 47, but I don't know where the seven came from when she was saying 2 to 4. But. Anyways.

I heard Friday morning on KROQ that Head Cases has already been cancelled. It's a little disappointing because I did like the show, but I wasn't incredibly invested in it, and I already have both Veronica Mars and Lost to watch Wednesdays at 9. But still, after only 2 episodes? geez. And I thought cancelling Wonderfalls after 4 was bad (though Wonderfalls > Head Cases).

So yeah, I've decided for sure that I'm just going to do the seminar project this weekend. Then I'll give it to Seher Monday and she can tell me if there's anything she wants to add/change, and we can maybe talk about how to present it if we have time. The only thing I'm afraid of is that she may do it all herself, too. But that's ok. We can just choose whoever's is better and use that. In any case, I'd rather get it done with and let her take all the credit than just leaving it and hoping something works out that we could work on it on Monday.

Ugh. Today we had to run two laps. It was all right, though. I jogged the entire first lap and then stopped for a second or two once or twice about 1/4 through the second lap and then walked after the half-way point of the second lap for about a 1/4 lap. I think someone said it was because Zi thought we were getting lazy or something to that extent. He made up for it later, though, when he told Mr. Austerman to give us a water break because we were dying. We learned some more drill, which was cool. Next week we'll start adding the music.

After school I helped with uniform fittings for the freshmen (it's required for the juniors and seniors to either help with the sophomores, which was yesterday, or help with the freshmen today. I actually did help yesterday, but I had nothing better to do today). I had hoped that I'd learn some more of the freshmen's names, but I failed.

After that, I drove to the Crossroads and met Annie at Subway. At Woodbridge, their band camp is from 1-9 PM, which is insane. They have to march at the like hottest part of the day (though, really, all parts of the day are hot here; when I was driving home at about 6 PM, the temperature was 90. guh. Their break is from 4-6, so yeah. We had food and talked about band camp and stuff. It was really nice. Then she had to return to school for the second part of band camp, and I came home.

Tomorrow is the band carwash thing. I didn't sign up for a time just so I can leave when I feel like it and come when I feel like it, but there's nothing much going on, so I think I might just stay for the entire time.

Annie and I are both clearly insane. But in the most awesome way ever. (It is also evident that Annie and me + no sleep + boy love = insanity.)

...yeah. There are no words to describe this. Just let me say that it involves "touched up photos" (i.e. pictures we drew in MSPaint. Or at least that's what I used. She may have used Photoshop) to argue whether Bob Burnquist is having an affair with Sandro Dias and trying to seduce Andy McDonald or if it's all just a misunderstanding and Bob totally loves Bucky. So, here's our conversation.

What really happened at Vert Skate today. )

...it is understandable if you skip this post, but I absolutely had to document our insanity. In any case, maybe Lulu and Tiffany will find it somewhat amusing, as they actually know Annie and me. Or, maybe we're just completely insane. :)

Morning wasn't so fun, as I had to wake up early (on my second day of summer break, no less) to take a diagnostic test for the SAT for this SAT class I'm taking which was very long and tiring, but the afternoon was awesome. I went to spectrum with Annie (my closest friend who goes to a different high school than me whom I haven't seen in months) and bought a bunch of CDs and DVDs. I was going to get seasons 1 and 4 of Buffy at Barnes and Noble since I have 2, 3, and 5, and have had the urge recently to have a Buffy marathon (I don't care for seasons 6 and 7 as much, so I don't care too much about having them for the marathon watching of Buffy) and I still have gift cards for there from Christmas and my birthday (which was in January), but then it turned out that they were having a "Buy 2 DVDs, get the third free" so I spent about 15 min trying to decide what to get. I finally decided on Felicity season 2. I think I'll start Felicity tonight and wait on the Buffy marathon. The CDs I got were the new Weezer, the new Garbage, the new Starting Line, the new Alkaline Trio, and the new Motion City Soundtrack, all of which I've been wanting to get for the longest time, but haven't had time to what with school.

Yes. It was awesome seeing Annie again. Hopefully the next time I get to see her won't be in another 3 months. She molested my boob, though! She claims it was an accident, but after that, she also admitted that she was a "mean, lean, molesting machine." Insanity.

But yes. It was a fun day. Going to Andrew's tomorrow with a bunch of people and playing DDR and such. Summer is so awesome, so glad it's finally arrived.

I really need to make some icons. I have a bunch sitting on my computer from the past week or so (...when I should've been studying for finals, but instead decided making icons was far more important), but I haven't gotten around to making enough in any one fandom to post them. bleh. Soon, hopefully.

All right. DVD-watching time.
