Emmys Reactions )

I'm trying to pick up my mood by focusing on the fact that TBBT and HIMYM premiere tomorrow night (kl;j;lasf I AM SO EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEA! I'm totally unspoiled for HIMYM and... kind of spoiled for TBBT, but whatever, so excited!) and Kris Allen's new single drops tomorrow morning. Oh, but watching the Emmys has motivated me to finally pre-order season 4 of HIMYM (well, I would have done that anyways, but I had forgotten about it) and buy both seasons of TBBT (which I had been debating over, but whatever, I adore that show. And I have gift cards!). Let's just hope I have time to actually watch them when they arrive!

We have a mouse in our apartment, and it's made its way up to my room. We have a mouse trap (a capture-and-release type trap, not a killing trap) in the room, but it's evaded all the traps that around the apartment, and it's been all over the place and managed to climb up and down two flights of stairs, so I think it's too smart to be fooled into being trapped. ...it's kind of ridiculously adorable and a little part of me wants to keep it for a pet, but it's probably disease-ridden and pooping all over our closets and such, so that's probably not the best idea.

Been home since Wednesday night. Had a nice Thanksgiving, hope everyone else who celebrates it did as well.

Today was much more lame. Well the morning was fine. I went with my parents to pick out a Christmas tree (although it's not going to get here until the Friday after I come home after the semester's over). But then in the afternoon I had to start working on my second child observation project, and ugh. Epic fail. First I went to Mason Park, but there was no one there. So then I went to Fashion Island, and there were loads of kids to observe, but for the most part they were the wrong age for the specific project I was doing, and for another, the parents would be there for like 2 seconds and then they'd leave. So yeah, fail. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll suck less, or else I'm screwed since the project is due next Friday and there's no way I'm going to be able to observe kids back at school. =/

Ugh and now I'm tired and have a headache. And I told myself I'd write the last reaction paper that's due for Developmental Psych on Wednesday, but I think instead I'm going to have some leftover pumpkin pie and watch the Colbert Christmas special from Sunday that I haven't watched yet and then go to sleep.

Everytime I just stop to think about the fact that Obama has been elected, I just break out into a grin.

Unfortunately the victory is a little bittersweet today for several reasons. First, that Prop 8 passed. I'm sadly not surprised, but it still sucks. The only thing that gives me hope is that according to exit polls, the youth were massively against it, so someday this will get changed. Also sucky is Franken being down by like 700 votes to Coleman in Minnesota. This is so ridiculously close! There'll be a recount, but I doubt the result will change. Also, wtf is wrong with Alaska? Seriously, Alaska wins as my least favorite state this year. I mean, first you have Palin being from Alaska and having huge approval ratings from there. But then you have Senator Ted Stevens who has been charged with several FELONIES still managing to win! ALASKA, YOU SUCK.

I'm watching The Daily Show/Colbert Report election special from last night, and oh man, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert being on the same show brings me such happiness. Also, STEPHEN HAS A COCKATOO ON HIS SHOULDER. I have 3 cockatiels, and cockatoos are pretty much like big cockatiels, so I find this especially awesome.
