So yesterday was Warped Tour. It was pretty good. I kind of wish it had been like a month earlier, when I really wanted to go to a concert, or that I had really wanted to go to a concert like a month later, because I think I just wasn't in the right mood to go. I saw The Matches, Yellowcard, part of New Found Glory's set (I really wanted to see Amber Pacific which was at the same time, but I could find the right stage because it was hidden kind of where the exit was so you had to start like you were leaving the place before you could get to it so I just gave up before finding it and saw NFG), Meg & Dia, The Spill Canvas (they were the band I was most excited to see and looking forward to seeing and they were really, really awesome), and Bad Religion. And I also saw a few other bands randomly, but I don't know any of their names. Anyways, it was mostly fun and I'm glad I went. I think right now I'm just more in the mood for smaller concerts. I really wish I could go to the Motion City Soundtrack concert in Anaheim that's in a few weeks but I have no one to go with (and I don't even know if there are tickets left). Oh well. Some other time.

I spent Thursday afternoon watching 30 Rock. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision because I hadn't been planning on watching it, but I saw a couple posts on my flist recommending it and I wanted something I didn't have to wait to watch (and they stream all the episodes on nbc.com for free) and something I could finish quickly because I didn't want to start up The West Wing again since I'd have Warped the next day and I thought I might be preoccupied thinking about that and not focus on the bands and such because I can only obsess over one thing at a time and yeah. So anyways.
I like it, but I'm not obsessed with it. I kind of see it as I see My Name Is Earl, where I can enjoy it if I see it, but I won't be upset if I miss an episode and I don't really think about it much if I'm not watching it. Actually, that's a little unfair to 30 Rock, because I think I like it a little more than that. But at the same time, it's definitely not like The Office or Arrested Development to me, where I go crazy over them and eagerly anticipate each new episode. I also think those shows are funnier than 30 Rock.

I think I could've gone crazy if they'd stuck with the Floyd/Liz thing, but from the finale it looks like that's over. I saw some places compare them to Jim/Pam, and they definitely weren't to that level for me. But they were pretty cute, especially in Fireworks, and if it looked like they were continuing with that, I might be more invested in the show. I think that's just kind of my issue, though. I have a lot of difficulty getting obsessed with a show if there isn't a ship I can latch onto. The last show I've really loved without me shipping someone is Arrested Development (I mean I loved George Michael/Maeby, but I also never expected that to go anywhere, so I just ended up being pleasantly surprised when things happened between them, but I was fine the first two seasons when nothing did and when it didn't look like anything would). But nearly every other show I've watched, I've had to find some ship or else I just kind of forget about the show. I don't really know what that says about me, but yeah. That's just how I am.

Anyways, moving on from my oddities, there are a lot of really awesome characters on the show. I love Kenneth so much. He's always so earnest and yet clueless, and it's awesome. I think he's my favorite character. Liz is very cool and I feel like I should totally love her, but I don't for some reason. I don't dislike her, I mean I like her a good amount, but I'm not crazy about her. I really like Dot Com and Grizz, Tracy's entourage, a lot, and I'm not really sure why. They're just kind of awesome. I also really like Jack's assistant or secretary or whatever he is and how protective he is of Jack. I think that might be why I like Tracy's entourage, actually. And I like the rest of the characters too, I mean there aren't any characters I hate. They're all very likable in their own ways.

So yeah, anyways, I'll probably be watching 30 Rock next season, especially since they moved it into The Office's timeslot and that kind of messes with my whole system of watching my Thursday night shows, and it makes it a lot easier if I watch it (unless I decide to stop watching My Name Is Earl, but I think I want to keep watching that for a little while).

Not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of today. I said I was going to start watching The West Wing again, but I think I might leave that for tomorrow and instead wait for Doctor Who to finish downloading and... I don't know. Watch a couple movies I've been meaning to watch for a few weeks that I haven't yet? Read a book? We'll see, I guess.

I'm the same. I very rarely will watch a show if there is no ship I like. Which I always thought was insane of me so I'm glad someone else is like that! lol. I like 30 Rock too but i'm not obsessed like you just said. It's funny when I happen to remember to turn it on.

Oh, I'm glad, I also thought it was crazy for me to be that way. That's basically how My Name Is Earl is for me, that I watch it when there's a new episode of The Office because it's on right before it, and I enjoy it when I watch it, but I don't really care otherwise. I think that'll probably be how it is with 30 Rock as well.
