brokenrecordGeorge W. Bush nominated John G. Roberts to the U.S. Supreme Court. In a brief he co-wrote in 1990, Roberts suggested that the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade. He also argued in favor of a government regulation that banned abortion-related counseling by federally-funded family planning programs. He has often taken a position against government environmental regulation. I've read that he's in favor of weakening the spearation between church and state. [sighs] Definitely wouldn't be my choice. Especially for filling Sandra Day O'Connor's seat.
Anyways. The rest of my day went better than the morning. It actually became totally awesome solely because the shot is done with and I no longer have to worry about it. I managed to get into the end of July training session for the animal shelter, so I could be working there as soon as August. Awesome. :D
I want my Green Day CDs back. For my mom's birthday a couple of weeks ago, I lent her all the Green Day CDs I have. When we go to my tenor lessons, I usually drive and play my iPod with the iTrip thing, and I have loads of Green Day on it so their songs come up a bunch and my mom liked a lot of them and wanted to listen to them and maybe burn them, so... for her birthday I had nothing else to give her so I decided to give them to her then. But it's been like 2 weeks now, and I've had the urge to listen to American Idiot lately and I want them back. gr.
I promised pictures of my TV/DVD collection from the photo meme and pictures of the painted rooms, but things still aren't in the right places. blah. I will definitely post pictures as soon as things are in the right places. I may even do a tour of my house just because I think it'll be fun and I love having a digital camera to use, so I want to take as many pictures as possible.
Finally, the meme that's popped up just about everywhere now: Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will comment with my top five of that thing or things.

5. Listening to their first CD reminds me of going to Las Vegas with marching band freshman year, since I played it constantly on the bus ride there. Good memories. :)

1. Exact same taste in music, more or less. There aren't many bands that one of us loves that the other hates.

1. Shouldn't have won the 2000 election, and I mean shouldn't have as in didn't and used illegal means to win.
2. Somehow made 9/11 turn into a war with Iraq, even though A) Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and he knew it, too, and B) IRAQ DIDN'T ATTACK US IN THE FIRST PLACE. MOST OF THE 9/11 BOMBERS WERE FROM SAUDI ARABIA. GAH. WHY NOT GO AFTER OSAMA BIN LADEN, THE GUY WHO ACTUALLY ATTACKED US?! I mean, we still don't even have him, do we? I think I'd remember something like that. geez.
3. I have a higher IQ than he does.
4. Religious fanatic. Believes only Evangelical Christians are eligible for the afterlife. Of course, I don't care about that, considering I don't believe in the afterlife, but still. Religious fanatic who doesn't understand the idea of separation between church and state.
5. Against gay marriage and has put forth anti-gay marriage legislation in the past that would effectively make gay marriage illegal throughout the United States rather than leaving the choice to the states.
-geez, I only get 5? I could go on about my hate for Bush for ages.
Top 5 Reasons I Hate Hilary Duff
1. Only has a successful music career because of her acting, even though are plenty of singers/bands who are far more talented and deserve the recognition more.
2. Cannot perform. My god. She stands on stage and shakes her ass and tosses her head a little and doesn't even move around. And she lip synchs, and my god, even Britney Spears at least dances when she lip synchs, but Hilary Duff doesn't even do that much!
3. NOT EVEN THAT GREAT OF AN ACTRESS, SO I DON'T KNOW WHERE ALL THE POPULARITY FROM LIZZIE MCGUIRE CAME FROM ALL OF A SUDDEN.
4. Got her sister Hailey into the show business, so now we have to endure music (and did she get any acting jobs? I don't know, I try to stay away from that stuff now, so I don't know if she does any acting. I do know for sure that she at least had that duet with Hilary like a year ago) from her as well and she's somehow worse of a singer than Hilary Duff is, which I wouldn't have though possible.
