First day of band camp! It was overall good, but parts of it were absolutely awful.

Well, most of the day was good. It started off all right. It was nice seeing all my friends again, even though I've seen some of them recently. It felt a little like last year at some points, with me just tagging along and being all quiet and in the background and feeling awkward, but it actually did get better. After about an hour, we went down the field to stretch and stuff. This was the really awful part. After stretching, Zi (our drum major) was all "Ok, now let's take a lap around the field!" Uh. No. I do not run. I'm a really good swimmer, and I'm pretty good at some other sports, but guh. I cannot run. I wanted to run all the way around the field, though, no stopping to walk, because... I felt pathetic being all... blah and running. I mean, I'm actually a decent runner as long as it's a short distance, but I fail at long runs. I have no endurance. So I started out way too fast and then by the end I was still jogging, and yeah, that was great, but I started feeling nauseous. I thought it'd get better, 'cause that's usually just how I feel after I run long distances, but then I started getting like... even sweatier and feeling really dizzy and shit. So finally I just told Mr. Austerman I felt sick and asked if I could go to the bathroom and he said yeah. My stomach started hurting, too. So I went to the bathroom, and that helped a little, and then I just kind of squatted in the bathroom with my head near the toilet just in case I threw up and I spent like half an hour sitting there. Finally my stomach started hurting (felt worse than cramps. gah. I can't remember feeling that horrible before) and I left and got a water bottle from the vending machine because I was really thirsty and my water bottle was back at the field, and then I went back. Jackie (she's flute section leader) was helping some freshman who wasn't getting the hang of the commands and had me be an example and stuff, and that was good because it was like... less work than going back to the block and it helped me review the commands and all myself.

So yeah, that was the really shitty part. But I felt better after that. If we do the running every day, I'm going way slower. Fuck feeling pathetic. I'd rather feel like a loser for jogging and walking than feeling like shit for half an hour.

At lunch I drove me, Jackie, Richard, and Emma to the UCI marketplace and we had lunch. Then I drove us back and we had the music part. Eh, the music is all right, but I prefer last year's, and I still prefer freshman year's to last year's.

After it was over, my mom walked down to the school (since she let me have the car so I could drive to lunch, and we live about a 10-15 min walk from school, and yeah) to help out with the uniforms and I went to Albertsons to do shopping my mom needed to do, because that was the deal I made to be able to use the car. Then it was like 3:30, and my mom wouldn't be done till 4, so I called and asked if I could go to Target and get a CD that came out today. She said yes, so I drove down to Target and got the new Jack's Mannequin CD, Everything in Transit. I saw the Hot Hot Heat CD that came out a few months ago that I've been meaning to get forever right next to it, so I ended up buying that too. Then, home.

So yeah, it was a pretty good day, except for the part where I got sick. Tomorrow we're starting on the drill, which should be more fun than basics. Let's hope I don't feel as horrible tomorrow as I did today after running around the field.

I watched the Truman Show this morning. I saw it was on a couple of weeks ago and remembered really liking it when I first saw it (that was when it first came out, so I must've been only like 9) and had the urge to see it again, so I recorded it. Was bored again this morning, so decided to watch it. I didn't remember much about it, but it came flooding back the more I watched it. I like it. It's a really good movie.

blah. Mrs. Bentley wants me to make a mock-up of how I would make the band site. I'm supposed to do this within the next 4-5 days. Don't know when I'll exactly have time for this. I mean, I have absolutely nothing to do all day, but... I make my best layouts/graphics (not including icons) on Friday and Saturday late nights. But Friday I'm sleeping over at Tiffany's and earlier in the day I guess I'm doing other stuff now too, and Saturday night I'll be dead exhausted. eck. I guess I'll do it Sunday or something. I don't want to do it right away, either, because I want to think about it first.

Still don't know what the deal with the Pennywise CD was. He gave me a burned copy of it, though, when he got home, so I'm assuming he bought it for himself and figured he could burn me a copy of the CD if I wanted it. I listened to it last night, and it's good. I'm not a major fan of Pennywise but I do like them, so I'm glad I have the CD.

I finally ended up taking all my pictures down from my walls last night. My room looks so bare! It feels like I'm moving or something. And for some reason, my room looks a lot smaller without everything on the walls. You think it'd be the opposite. hm. Today I plan to put everything back up, but... well, we'll see how well that goes.

Heh. So, the phone rings and a minute later my mom knocks at my door and says she has a question:
Mom: [has phone against ear] Have you heard of a band called... Pennywise?
Me: ...uh. Yes. I like them.
Mom: Ok. [pause, listens to person on phone] Do you have their album... The Fuse?
Me: ...er. No. It came out, like, yesterday.
Mom: Ok. Well, you do now.
Me: ...uh?
Mom: How about a thank you?
Me: But I don't even know what's going on! Who's on the phone?!
Mom: Your dad.
Me: ...oh. Uh. Thank you?

And then she walked away. That's so random. He needs to come home so I can find out why he has the new Pennywise CD for me.

Registration packet for school came in the mail. I love getting the registration packet and I love buying school supplies and I love registration itself and I love the first day of school, and that's about it. After the first day, I'm ready for summer break to come back again.

I've been bored out of my mind (...maybe I shouldn't have seen if I could get out of my SAT class. At least it'd give me something to do for a few hours) so I decided to finally redo my walls. I took down all of the pictures on the wall with the least amount of pictures and then got bored of that. This is bad. I either need to finish or put pictures back up, but I'm too anal to keep it like it is. blah. I need to not start things I know that I'm not in the mood to finish. My mom finally did give me the CD rack she no longer needs so I was able to finally organize all my CDs. I had a CD like... spinner thing before, but it only held 100 CDs. The CD rack holds a lot more.

Blah. Ok, I guess I should return to taking stuff off my walls.

Drove myself to the Spectrum and got my summer reading books and 5 CDs. My purchases... )

Shoulder hurt less last night. Well, I did take an Advil for a headache so that may have helped, but that was after the point it usually starts hurting more. So, either it's started to go numb and I just can't feel the pain anymore, or it's getting better. I'm hoping for the getting better one.

My parents go out to dinner every Friday night, and last night the place they ate dinner at was right by South Coast Plaza, so they went shopping afterwards. My mom bought me a new black blouse and black skirt for concert attire next year. I'm happy about it since before I had been wearing this black short-sleeve shirt, and while it fit fine, the sleeves were pretty short, and our concerts are at night, so I'd get pretty cold in it. Plus, I like the material of this shirt, and it fits me better. The skirt isn't much different than the one I have, but I like the material of it more. So, yay. :)
A picture of the skirt and shirt, because I totally have an addiction to using my digital camera. )

Hm. I would respond to more people's Casting Call Memes, but I've found that I picture just about everyone as dark-haired caucasian women. This is odd, considering as the two friends I know in real life who use LJ are both Asian, and I, while caucasian, have blonde hair. So, I don't know where that image of everyone comes from. It's odd.

So, I'm still planning on doing a picture tour of my house because I love to use my digital camera as much as possible and I think it'll be fun, but there are still things that are in boxes and all blah so I haven't done it yet. I will as soon as things are right again.

I played the Sims 2 all yesterday afternoon. Wheeee, fun. I remember how insane I was going over it for like 2 weeks before I got it, then I played it like crazy for a couple weeks, and then it was 1st semester finals so I stopped to study a little. And then I barely played it at all until I got the expansion pack. I should remember not to go so crazy with anticipation for things like that, considering that after a few weeks, the awesomeness has worn off and I barely pay attention to it anymore. Oh well.

All right. I guess now I'll burn my new CDs to my computer so I can put them on my iPod. Well, and plus, I'm guessing that there's a good chance that Tiffany will want the new All-American Rejects CD. So yes. I'll do that now.

George W. Bush nominated John G. Roberts to the U.S. Supreme Court. In a brief he co-wrote in 1990, Roberts suggested that the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade. He also argued in favor of a government regulation that banned abortion-related counseling by federally-funded family planning programs. He has often taken a position against government environmental regulation. I've read that he's in favor of weakening the spearation between church and state. [sighs] Definitely wouldn't be my choice. Especially for filling Sandra Day O'Connor's seat.

Anyways. The rest of my day went better than the morning. It actually became totally awesome solely because the shot is done with and I no longer have to worry about it. I managed to get into the end of July training session for the animal shelter, so I could be working there as soon as August. Awesome. :D

I want my Green Day CDs back. For my mom's birthday a couple of weeks ago, I lent her all the Green Day CDs I have. When we go to my tenor lessons, I usually drive and play my iPod with the iTrip thing, and I have loads of Green Day on it so their songs come up a bunch and my mom liked a lot of them and wanted to listen to them and maybe burn them, so... for her birthday I had nothing else to give her so I decided to give them to her then. But it's been like 2 weeks now, and I've had the urge to listen to American Idiot lately and I want them back. gr.

I promised pictures of my TV/DVD collection from the photo meme and pictures of the painted rooms, but things still aren't in the right places. blah. I will definitely post pictures as soon as things are in the right places. I may even do a tour of my house just because I think it'll be fun and I love having a digital camera to use, so I want to take as many pictures as possible.

Finally, the meme that's popped up just about everywhere now: Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will comment with my top five of that thing or things.

Went to bed with a really bad headache last night and when I woke up, it was still there. And then I had to go to my tenor sax lesson which I normally hate enough as it is, so my headache wasn't exactly making it any better. It's all right now, though, but bleh. Crappy morning.

Managed to listen to the Motion City Soundtrack CD in its entirety, and I really like it. Also listened to about half of the Garbage CD. So, only 2 1/2 CDs left to listen to!

Watched Queer as Folk 507 )

Anyways. I got the pictures back from the band beach party last week. Image-heavy. You have been warned.
pictures! )

And that's all for the pictures. I totally love the colors of them. I didn't even do that much touch up in photoshop, that's pretty much how they came out. So pretty. :D

In the time that it's taken me to type this post out, I've finished the Garbage CD and the Alkaline Trio CD (both of which ended up being very good, as the Weezer and Motion City Soundtrack CDs did) and have started listening to the Starting Line CD. I think I'll stop it now, though, and go back out and watch more Felicity. I still have more than half the season left.

Morning wasn't so fun, as I had to wake up early (on my second day of summer break, no less) to take a diagnostic test for the SAT for this SAT class I'm taking which was very long and tiring, but the afternoon was awesome. I went to spectrum with Annie (my closest friend who goes to a different high school than me whom I haven't seen in months) and bought a bunch of CDs and DVDs. I was going to get seasons 1 and 4 of Buffy at Barnes and Noble since I have 2, 3, and 5, and have had the urge recently to have a Buffy marathon (I don't care for seasons 6 and 7 as much, so I don't care too much about having them for the marathon watching of Buffy) and I still have gift cards for there from Christmas and my birthday (which was in January), but then it turned out that they were having a "Buy 2 DVDs, get the third free" so I spent about 15 min trying to decide what to get. I finally decided on Felicity season 2. I think I'll start Felicity tonight and wait on the Buffy marathon. The CDs I got were the new Weezer, the new Garbage, the new Starting Line, the new Alkaline Trio, and the new Motion City Soundtrack, all of which I've been wanting to get for the longest time, but haven't had time to what with school.

Yes. It was awesome seeing Annie again. Hopefully the next time I get to see her won't be in another 3 months. She molested my boob, though! She claims it was an accident, but after that, she also admitted that she was a "mean, lean, molesting machine." Insanity.

But yes. It was a fun day. Going to Andrew's tomorrow with a bunch of people and playing DDR and such. Summer is so awesome, so glad it's finally arrived.

I really need to make some icons. I have a bunch sitting on my computer from the past week or so (...when I should've been studying for finals, but instead decided making icons was far more important), but I haven't gotten around to making enough in any one fandom to post them. bleh. Soon, hopefully.

All right. DVD-watching time.
