Drove myself to the Spectrum and got my summer reading books and 5 CDs.

The books. Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor by Stephanie Barron, Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart, and How the Irish Saved Civilization by Thomas Cahill. The last scares me, as in the yearbook last year it came out to be the worst thing anyone had read through their time at UNI (er, my high school. Short for University. Yes, my high school is called University High School. I don't know).

The Dandy Warhols Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia. It actually isn't the one that has "We Used to be Friends" on it, even though I love that song. It turned out that I liked the songs on this one overall more than Welcome to the Monkey House (...I think that's what the other's called), and plus, this one has "Secret" on it, the song that ends QAF 511 which I completely adore.

Flogging Molly Drunken Lullabies. I have 2 of their songs from either Warped Tour compilations or the Rock Against Bush CDs, and I've loved them for months. Been meaning to get something of theirs forever.

The All-American Rejects Move Along. Have their first CD, and while I like some of the songs, overall it's just kind of... eh. I don't dislike it, it's just not that great. But I heard their new single and I really liked it, so I checked out their CD at FYE and I really liked a lot of the songs. Plus, well, the last time I listened to their first CD would've been right before 9th grade, and my tastes in music have broadened a lot since then. So, for all I know, if I listen to their first now, I'll absolutely adore it.

Amber Pacific The Possibility and the Promise. Total accident that I got this. They had this song on the 2004 Warped Tour Compilation and I absolutely loved it, so I bought the CD they had out at the time, but it was only like... a demo, so it only had 5 songs. I heard that they were coming out with a new CD, but I didn't know when. I found this new one when I was putting back one of the other CDs I had listened to, and I listened to it and instantly loved it. Wheeee, so excited to have this. :D

Howie Day Stop All the World Now. I love both "Brace Yourself" and "Collide", so it made sense to check out the other songs on the CD. Liked them, bought it.
Ooh, and I also saw Melody there. It was only for like a minute, we were passing each other, and we didn't say anything but we waved to each other.
When I came home, my mom asked to see what I got, so I showed her, and when she saw the CDs, she was all "Oh, The Dandy Warhols! There's that song that comes up on your iPod from them that I like! And oh! You finally got a Flogging Molly CD!" I was all "...uh. I get to listen to them first, you know." Heh. I love that my mom likes my music. She's awesome.
Shoulder hurt less last night. Well, I did take an Advil for a headache so that may have helped, but that was after the point it usually starts hurting more. So, either it's started to go numb and I just can't feel the pain anymore, or it's getting better. I'm hoping for the getting better one.
My parents go out to dinner every Friday night, and last night the place they ate dinner at was right by South Coast Plaza, so they went shopping afterwards. My mom bought me a new black blouse and black skirt for concert attire next year. I'm happy about it since before I had been wearing this black short-sleeve shirt, and while it fit fine, the sleeves were pretty short, and our concerts are at night, so I'd get pretty cold in it. Plus, I like the material of this shirt, and it fits me better. The skirt isn't much different than the one I have, but I like the material of it more. So, yay. :)

Hard to see, but there's a kind of... criss-crossed pattern on the skirt. That's ok, though.
Hm. I would respond to more people's Casting Call Memes, but I've found that I picture just about everyone as dark-haired caucasian women. This is odd, considering as the two friends I know in real life who use LJ are both Asian, and I, while caucasian, have blonde hair. So, I don't know where that image of everyone comes from. It's odd.
So, I'm still planning on doing a picture tour of my house because I love to use my digital camera as much as possible and I think it'll be fun, but there are still things that are in boxes and all blah so I haven't done it yet. I will as soon as things are right again.
I played the Sims 2 all yesterday afternoon. Wheeee, fun. I remember how insane I was going over it for like 2 weeks before I got it, then I played it like crazy for a couple weeks, and then it was 1st semester finals so I stopped to study a little. And then I barely played it at all until I got the expansion pack. I should remember not to go so crazy with anticipation for things like that, considering that after a few weeks, the awesomeness has worn off and I barely pay attention to it anymore. Oh well.
All right. I guess now I'll burn my new CDs to my computer so I can put them on my iPod. Well, and plus, I'm guessing that there's a good chance that Tiffany will want the new All-American Rejects CD. So yes. I'll do that now.

Date: 2005-07-24 04:49 am (UTC)'It Ends Tonight' by AAR is awesome. I love the beginning. And Flogging Molly, hee.
I need a black shirt like that. Even though I never perform.
I imagine everyone as caucasians too. I've found out that a lot of them are actually Asian, and for some reason, that surprises me. Which is weird, considering my race.

Date: 2005-07-24 04:54 am (UTC)I really like the new AAR CD. It's awesome. I've listened to all the CDs now and AAR and Amber Pacific's a second time. I'm now on my second time for Howie Day. wheeee, new music is fun. :D
I've needed a black shirt like this forever. I love it. So happy.
Haha, I know. I'm the same way. It's like "WHOA. REALLY?!" When... dude. More of my friends are Asian than caucasian. And our school is like... 45% caucasian, 43% Asian. Or something. I don't know. It's in the yearbook. But it's super close. Meh.

Date: 2005-07-24 05:01 am (UTC)Yeah, Irvine's got a lot of Asians. But I find it weird when other people [like from Australia or France] turn out to be Asian. It's a stupid idea, since obviously there's more than just Caucasian people living in France, but I never really think about it til they post pictures. And they I go 'Whoa, you're not white!' Anyway.

Date: 2005-07-24 05:28 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm like that too. I assume everyone pretty much everywhere in Europe and Australia is caucasian with brown hair, except Germany, Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Finland, and Sweden. They're all blondes. Which is obviously a ridiculous sterotype, but eh. Oh well.
