First off, hello to all my new friends from the friending meme!

So, I've made like 60 new VM icons in the past 3 days, and I already had 20 made that I haven't posted, so, uh, look out for an icon post from me tomorrow.

Anyways. Today was fun. Right after jazz band, I drove me, Jackie, and Jessica to the Spectrum to help find Jessica a prom dress. We ended up finding her a really pretty one, and then we found this ridiculously beautiful necklace to match. For dinner we went to Johnny Rockets and met up with Soan, Justin, and Andrew. And I saw Ruben at Johnny Rockets! I used to go to the Spectrum every Saturday with Tiffany and sometimes Annie, and we'd always go to Johnny Rockets for lunch, and Ruben was a server there, and after awhile he started recognizing us and whenever he'd be our server, he'd give us free drinks/food and stuff. He was really cool. He actually came over to my table to say hi and talk a little, and I was surprised he even recognized me, since it's been like a year since I've seen him. But yeah, that was cool.

Throughout the night I managed to buy two pairs of pyjama pants (mine are all getting old and ripping, and I've been looking for some for awhile but haven't been able to find any ones I liked), a Motion City Soundtrack shirt from Hot Topic, and 2 pairs of shoes (which sounds like a lot, but the shoes were so cheap! One pair was $45 and the other was $30!). The shoes I got at Nordstroms, though, they didn't have in my size, so they're going to deliver them to me in like a week or so. But yeah, very productive. I'll post pictures of all the stuff I got tomorrow, but I left my camera in my car and it's like 10:30 PM and I don't want to go outside to get it.

Oh, but man, I saw this jacket that I absolutely loved at Urban Outfitters, but their clothes are cut kind of small, and the largest size they even have is a large. I could get it on and everything, but it was kind of tight in the arms, so it wasn't very comfortable. =/ Ah, but I loved it so much. It disappointed me that it was just a bit too small. Oh well. I looked at the price tag, anyways, and it was $68, so it's doubtful I would've gotten it even if it had fit.

Um, what else? Going to the animal shelter tomorrow morning (first time in a few weeks. bleh. I really need to go there more). Sunday I'm going to go to this thing in... Glendale? Or Glenoak? I don't know. North L.A.? And it's like... this meeting with booths and information sessions and such about a bunch of different colleges, including Claremont McKenna, Macalester, Colorado College, and Haverford, all of which I'm planning on applying to. So that should be interesting.

uh. Tired. Fun day, but we walked around a lot, and now I'm exhausted. Sleep = excellent.

Got up earlyish this morning to go the animal shelter. I was planning on going from 11-noon, so I left at like... 10:45. My mom gave me instructions on how to get there. Her instructions included going on the 405 south. Last time I went, my dad gave me directions, and it was going by Alton instead. So, I wasn't entirely confident about getting there. Anyways, her exact words were "You know how you get to the Spectrum? Yeah, it's like that, except it's the next exit." So, I figured that meant "It's like going to the Spectrum, except it's the next exit after going by the exit to the Spectrum."

So, I went on my way, and as I was driving, one of the first exits was for Sand Canyon, which is the road you take until it bumps into Oak Canyon or something like that and then to the animal shelter. But I was all "NO. SHE SAID AFTER THE SPECTRUM." So I kept going, past the Spectrum, and the next exit was actually like... two exits. One was to Lake Forest Dr, and the other was to Bake Pkwy. I didn't know which one to take, but Lake Forest Dr sounded more promising, so I took that. After passing 2 signals, it was clear that this was not where I was supposed to be, so I did a U-turn and went back on the 405 going north. The next exit was Bake Pkwy, so I took that and drove along Bake for a little while. It was clear that this one was also not the way to get to the animal shelter. Did a U-turn, got back on the 405 N, then I saw something that said the 5 N for Alton. Alton was how I got to the animal shelter last time, so I took that. Where I got off was right by the Spectrum, so I was a little comforted by the fact that I actually had an idea of where I was. From there I took Alton until it ran into Sand Canyon, and then to the animal shelter. It was like 11:20 by then, when I should've gotten there at 11. sigh. I fail at life. I talked to my mom when I got home, and it turns out that by "next exit" she meant that I'd go on the same freeway as I do to go to the Spectrum, except it's the "next exit" from when I get on the freeway. I think she should've been a little more specific than that.

It was nice, though, once things finally got sorted out. I got out a cat named Owen who was very, very sweet. It was so sad, though, because anytime someone walked by, he'd jump up to the window and sit expectantly. And the same for when he heard noises, he'd jump down to the door and sit in front of it expectantly. To me it seemed like he had been brought to the shelter by his owner and was waiting for his owner to come back and get him. I didn't check his chart (even though I meant to), though, so I'm not sure if that's the case. It seemed like it, though. Poor kitty. I now have 2 hours and 16 min logged at the shelter (they count the time when I had my very first meeting where my "buddy" showed me around and how to spend time with the cats and such).

After stopping at home and having lunch, I went to the Spectrum. Don't know if anyone else would've been able to, but I was too lazy to ask. I saw Danny as I was leaving. He was waiting for the Tiffany he's dating (not the one I'm friends with), so I hung out with him for like 10 minutes until she arrived. I got a new pair of jeans, a new belt, and Freaks and Geeks on DVD. I've seen the first... 7 or so episodes, and I've read the recaps at TWOP for the rest of the episodes, but I was tired of downloading it and it's a lot better seeing the show than reading about it and besides, it's a good show and when I like stuff like TV shows, I feel bad about downloading them (which is why eventually I will buy both seasons of Dead Like Me, even though I downloaded them already. Well, plus, special features!). So, yeah. The plan for the rest of the afternoon is I'll finish the band website, do some of my college counselor's assignment, and then watch DVDs.

First of all, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] orton_qaf! :D

Second, went to the Spectrum today with Tiffany. I got two new shirts at Hot Topic: a Fall Out Boy shirt and an Epitaph tour one, from the tour last winter that Tiffany, Danny, and I went to at the House of Blues in Anaheim with Motion City Soundtrack, Matchbook Romance, From First to Last, and The Matches. After about an hour we got bored. Usually we can spend a lot more time there because first we'll go have lunch at Johnny Rockets (except we're saving money for tomorrow, so we decided not to go to lunch at Spectrum today) and then go to Hot Topic, FYE, and Barnes and Nobles and then go back to the food court. Except today I didn't really have any CDs in mind like I usually do, I just wanted to go to the Spectrum so I could get out of the house, so... yeah. Went trhough Barnes and Noble and FYE pretty quickly. I found in Hot Topic that I had 2 Hot Topic gift cards. One was all used up, but the other still had nearly $40, and the Epitaph shirt I got was on sale, so... yeah. Didn't have to waste any money on the shirts. Then after that there wasn't much to do. So, we called Annie to see if we could terrorize her at home, but it turned out she was at the Crossroads with Joe. So then I drove Tiffany and me over to the Crossroads and we hung out there with Annie and Joe for like an hour and a half. Then at 5 Annie had to go home, so I drove Tiffany home and then went home myself.
The two shirts I bought )

Tomorrow at noon I have my first animal shelter thing. I'm meeting with this buddy who is going to show me like... how things are done and stuff. Then after that, I can go in whenever I want. Woohoo! I'm getting really excited for this. Especially since I've been like... majorly wanting to get a cat recently (no idea where it's come from, but I do) and since I can't get one (4 birds and a cat wouldn't really mix), this is the next best thing. That should end around 1. Then after that, I'm driving Tiffany and me to Anaheim to go to Chain Reaction. It's this club, and from 10 AM to 5 PM there's going to be this like... thing where they sell a bunch of band CDs, signed posters, shirts, etc. It sounds cool, so yeah. I'm a little unsure about driving all the way to Anaheim (it's only like 15-20 min away, but... I've only ever driven as far as like the Spectrum, and plus... it's still illegal for me to drive other people. Only for 20 more days, and tomorrow it'll only be 19! But... yeah. It still makes me kind of nervous), but well... driving today around a bunch helped make me more confident. I think thinking about it is like... worse than it'll actually be. Meh, my dad doesn't see any problem with me driving there, so I think it'll be ok. If I don't kill Tiffany and me driving there, it should be fun. :)

Lastly, some picspam of my birds. )

Edit:
Snaps Cup! meme:
A Snaps Cup is a cup that a group of people will all put a piece of paper in. The cup will be designated to a particular person, and then that group of people will have put compliments for that person on the pieces of paper they placed in the Snaps Cup. This way, everyone gets anonymous compliments and it's a great team building exercise, and ego booster.

Post your username in a comment. People will then reply to you ANONYMOUSLY and tell you something they like about you. It must be a positive comment and it must, must, MUST be posted anonymously.

Give me comments?

Drove myself to the Spectrum and got my summer reading books and 5 CDs. My purchases... )

Shoulder hurt less last night. Well, I did take an Advil for a headache so that may have helped, but that was after the point it usually starts hurting more. So, either it's started to go numb and I just can't feel the pain anymore, or it's getting better. I'm hoping for the getting better one.

My parents go out to dinner every Friday night, and last night the place they ate dinner at was right by South Coast Plaza, so they went shopping afterwards. My mom bought me a new black blouse and black skirt for concert attire next year. I'm happy about it since before I had been wearing this black short-sleeve shirt, and while it fit fine, the sleeves were pretty short, and our concerts are at night, so I'd get pretty cold in it. Plus, I like the material of this shirt, and it fits me better. The skirt isn't much different than the one I have, but I like the material of it more. So, yay. :)
A picture of the skirt and shirt, because I totally have an addiction to using my digital camera. )

Hm. I would respond to more people's Casting Call Memes, but I've found that I picture just about everyone as dark-haired caucasian women. This is odd, considering as the two friends I know in real life who use LJ are both Asian, and I, while caucasian, have blonde hair. So, I don't know where that image of everyone comes from. It's odd.

So, I'm still planning on doing a picture tour of my house because I love to use my digital camera as much as possible and I think it'll be fun, but there are still things that are in boxes and all blah so I haven't done it yet. I will as soon as things are right again.

I played the Sims 2 all yesterday afternoon. Wheeee, fun. I remember how insane I was going over it for like 2 weeks before I got it, then I played it like crazy for a couple weeks, and then it was 1st semester finals so I stopped to study a little. And then I barely played it at all until I got the expansion pack. I should remember not to go so crazy with anticipation for things like that, considering that after a few weeks, the awesomeness has worn off and I barely pay attention to it anymore. Oh well.

All right. I guess now I'll burn my new CDs to my computer so I can put them on my iPod. Well, and plus, I'm guessing that there's a good chance that Tiffany will want the new All-American Rejects CD. So yes. I'll do that now.

Morning wasn't so fun, as I had to wake up early (on my second day of summer break, no less) to take a diagnostic test for the SAT for this SAT class I'm taking which was very long and tiring, but the afternoon was awesome. I went to spectrum with Annie (my closest friend who goes to a different high school than me whom I haven't seen in months) and bought a bunch of CDs and DVDs. I was going to get seasons 1 and 4 of Buffy at Barnes and Noble since I have 2, 3, and 5, and have had the urge recently to have a Buffy marathon (I don't care for seasons 6 and 7 as much, so I don't care too much about having them for the marathon watching of Buffy) and I still have gift cards for there from Christmas and my birthday (which was in January), but then it turned out that they were having a "Buy 2 DVDs, get the third free" so I spent about 15 min trying to decide what to get. I finally decided on Felicity season 2. I think I'll start Felicity tonight and wait on the Buffy marathon. The CDs I got were the new Weezer, the new Garbage, the new Starting Line, the new Alkaline Trio, and the new Motion City Soundtrack, all of which I've been wanting to get for the longest time, but haven't had time to what with school.

Yes. It was awesome seeing Annie again. Hopefully the next time I get to see her won't be in another 3 months. She molested my boob, though! She claims it was an accident, but after that, she also admitted that she was a "mean, lean, molesting machine." Insanity.

But yes. It was a fun day. Going to Andrew's tomorrow with a bunch of people and playing DDR and such. Summer is so awesome, so glad it's finally arrived.

I really need to make some icons. I have a bunch sitting on my computer from the past week or so (...when I should've been studying for finals, but instead decided making icons was far more important), but I haven't gotten around to making enough in any one fandom to post them. bleh. Soon, hopefully.

All right. DVD-watching time.
